LOOKFANTASTIC BEAUTY BOX #1 - September 2014

I was shopping on LookFantastic and I came across a page for their own beauty box, advertised for £15. Shipping would be free and the value of the box would exceed £50! There was a limited amount available and it let me pre-order the September box. I was expecting some make-up items, because from experience £50 doesn’t spread very far if you have an expensive taste in cosmetics and thought the box would have less expensive brands included.
The box itself is a lot like a Glossybox, but bigger and it feels more luxury. When you open it up it has the tissue paper and sticker fastening and when explored, reveals the selection of products. You also get product info cards, which tell you a bit about each product. I thought the box would be more exciting, but for an all beauty junkie, it would be a dream box. Here it what you get inside the LookFantastic Beauty Box for September 2014:-
ST TROPEZ SELF TAN Bronzing Mousse (50ml)
£30.64 (240ml) - St-Tropez.com
I can tell you straight away that this is a product I will not be using! I don’t use fake tan and I don’t see the need, I am pale and proud. My Sister on the other hand will love this.

thisworks Deep Sleep Pillow Spray (5ml)
£16 (75ml) - thisworks.com
I am excited to try this as I currently use the Planet Spa one and I find that they really help. This one does smell slightly different though.

Jurlique Herbal Recovery Advanced Serum (15ml)
£45 (30ml) - Jurlique.co.uk
I am always interested in trying new serums and this one smells lovely.

CAUDALÍE Divine Oil (15ml)
£17.50 (50ml) - UK.Caudalie.com
I’m sure I’ve had a sample of this before from another beauty box, but I can’t remember for definite. I think I will give this a go this time, as I don’t like the idea of oils for your face, but this product can be used for all over your body and in your bath.

KÉRASTASE Bain Satin 1 (80ml)
£17 (250ml) - Kerastase-USA.com
&
KÉRASTASE Lait Vital (75ml)
£20 (200ml) - Kerastase-USA.com
I am not interested in these at all! I don’t like trying hair care products and I prefer using 2-in-1 products for shampoo and conditioners. The shampoo slightly interests me, but not enough for me to give it a try.
This is a good box and I am glad that I have tried it. A box like this is mostly wasted on me because the brand/product range is brilliant, but I am a make-up girl and this is what this month’s box lacked! I will not buy October’s box, but I would recommend this service to anyone who loves skincare and hair care products. Knowing my luck October’s box will contain make-up!

What are your thoughts on this box?

Glossybox #25 - February 2019

This is my third Glossybox since I re-subscribed last year. It is also the Valentine’s Day themed box. I would say that so far, this box seems to be the one most tailored to my usual interests. I received seven products in this box, technically six because two go hand in hand. HUDA BEAUTY Lip Contour in Venus This lip pencil formula is supposed to be waterproof and transfer-free. It should glide on effortlessly and give your lips an intense shot of colour. You can use it to contour or colour your lips or pair it with a lipstick. Venus is a warm beige nude shade. It glides onto your lips very easy, but it feels a little tacky when you fill your whole lips in with it. I’m not sure how often I would use this seeing as though I have never used lip liner. I prefer liquid lipsticks and I don’t feel the need to line my lips before applying it. | 1.20g - £16.00 | NAILS INC Nail Varnish in Status Ready This nail polish should be long lasting and super glossy. It is a deep che

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Jawbreaker Palette

I bought this palette back when it first launched (summer 2019) and I was interested in it so I could experiment more with bright colours. The colour selection definitely doesn’t disappoint and I was expecting it to be the same quality as the Blood Sugar Palette, if not slightly better! The packaging is quite a large rectangular shape and made out of metallic pink cardboard with colourful dots/dashes all over representing a jawbreaker pattern. The name of the palette is in a slightly raised font. It has a magnetic closing which you lift to reveal the twenty-four eyeshadow pans arranged on a white background. The other side is the same pattern as the front cover with a mirror. You can purchase it for £54.00 ($58.00) from JeffreeStarCosmetics.com and BeautyBay.com. You get twenty-four 1.50g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Shimmer (S) and Metallic (ME) finishes. Swatch Stencil: Stripes Double 14 Pan by SwatchPerfect.co.uk Virgin - bone white (M) Good Morning - soft pink

e.l.f Earth & Ocean Palette

I haven’t purchased anything from e.l.f in the longest time. I happened upon a post of this palette on Instagram and the complimentary comments really peaked my interest in trying it for myself. Palettes I have tried from e.l.f. in the past haven’t been the greatest of quality; I kind of associate the brand as being for children, beginners or natural beauty wearers. I was also interested in the Retro Paradise Palette , but I thought I would get more use out of this one at the moment.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is quite simple with a clear/black outlined plastic rectangular shape. The fronting is transparent so that you can see the eyeshadows from the outside of the palette. It has a clip closing, which you push apart to reveal the inside. The square eyeshadow pans are spread out across a black base and the shade names are printed in grey font under each pan. THE EYESHADOWS & FORMULA You get eighteen 0.94g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Metallic (ME), Glitter (G), Satin (S) and Shimmer
