Soap & Glory sexy MOTHER PUCKER™ Plumping Lipgloss

Today I am going to review some lipgloss. I received them in two separate Soap & Glory Christmas gift sets and thought I would review them because quite a few people like them and I love Soap & Glory.
I have two shades and they are Candy Gloss, which is a glittery nude/pink and Punch Bowl, which is a bright fuchsia pink.
The packaging is your standard hard plastic tube and lighter plastic lid and the fonts used really stand out. The plastic tube is also translucent so you can see the shade clearly and it has a doe foot applicator. Each full sized tube comes with 7ml of lipgloss.

“Fasten your seatbelts! It's Super-Colour™ Sexy Mother Pucker™ with SUPERFILL™ Lip Plumping Spheres and LIPSWELL™ Volume Boost Technology. Britain’s hottest selling lip plumping gloss, Soap & Glory’s bestselling Original Formula SEXY MOTHER PUCKER includes ingenious PLUMPING MICROSPHERES that explode in volume up to 10x when they come in contact with water (they’re like tiny, dehydrated little sponges that expand when they get wet) and an exclusive microcirculation-stimulating extract to visibly enhance lip volume. Amazing. Addictive.”

The packaging is really lovely and the name and fonts definitely stand out. This product does come in a range of attractive colours and I do like the idea behind them, but I just don’t like them. Firstly I dislike the scent because it is a sickly chocolate caramel type of scent and it makes me feel ill! Secondly the lipgloss is super sticky and I really don’t like the plumping sensation as it is quite strong. I wasn’t able to do a full wear test with them due to the plumping sensation, but from experience lipglosses tend to stay on your lips for around two hours if you don’t eat or drink anything. I didn’t really notice any extra plumpness to my lips because I wasn’t able to keep the product on my lips long enough. Because of the strong stinging sensation I’m guessing it must add some noticeable volume to your lips. They do not give a completely opaque colour on the lips but they do have good pigmentation because you can tell what colour it is when it is on your lips. Also this product is quite expensive for a lipgloss, but if you are a lipgloss junkie (unlike me) the price may not bother you.

Overall I wouldn’t re-purchase them because I don’t really like lipgloss and I dislike the plumping kind even more and I just never wear it anyway. I also cannot really recommend them because I couldn’t stand the plumping sensation and it is definitely not a very pleasant feeling on my lips!

Glossybox #25 - February 2019

This is my third Glossybox since I re-subscribed last year. It is also the Valentine’s Day themed box. I would say that so far, this box seems to be the one most tailored to my usual interests. I received seven products in this box, technically six because two go hand in hand. HUDA BEAUTY Lip Contour in Venus This lip pencil formula is supposed to be waterproof and transfer-free. It should glide on effortlessly and give your lips an intense shot of colour. You can use it to contour or colour your lips or pair it with a lipstick. Venus is a warm beige nude shade. It glides onto your lips very easy, but it feels a little tacky when you fill your whole lips in with it. I’m not sure how often I would use this seeing as though I have never used lip liner. I prefer liquid lipsticks and I don’t feel the need to line my lips before applying it. | 1.20g - £16.00 | NAILS INC Nail Varnish in Status Ready This nail polish should be long lasting and super glossy. Jeffree Star Cosmetics Jawbreaker Palette

I bought this palette back when it first launched (summer 2019) and I was interested in it so I could experiment more with bright colours. The colour selection definitely doesn’t disappoint and I was expecting it to be the same quality as the Blood Sugar Palette, if not slightly better! The packaging is quite a large rectangular shape and made out of metallic pink cardboard with colourful dots/dashes all over representing a jawbreaker pattern. The name of the palette is in a slightly raised font. It has a magnetic closing which you lift to reveal the twenty-four eyeshadow pans arranged on a white background. The other side is the same pattern as the front cover with a mirror. You can purchase it for £54.00 ($58.00) from JeffreeStarCosmetics.com and BeautyBay.com. You get twenty-four 1.50g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Shimmer (S) and Metallic (ME) finishes. e.l.f Earth & Ocean Palette

I haven’t purchased anything from e.l.f in the longest time. I happened upon a post of this palette on Instagram and the complimentary comments really peaked my interest in trying it for myself. Palettes I have tried from e.l.f. in the past haven’t been the greatest of quality; I kind of associate the brand as being for children, beginners or natural beauty wearers. I was also interested in the Retro Paradise Palette , but I thought I would get more use out of this one at the moment.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is quite simple with a clear/black outlined plastic rectangular shape. The fronting is transparent so that you can see the eyeshadows from the outside of the palette. It has a clip closing, which you push apart to reveal the inside. The square eyeshadow pans are spread out across a black base and the shade names are printed in grey font under each pan. THE EYESHADOWS & FORMULA You get eighteen 0.94g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Metallic (ME), Glitter (G), Satin (S) and Shimmer
