TAG - Colours Of The Rainbow

Today I am going to do a TAG to change things up a bit. I have seen this TAG floating around on YouTube and thought it would be interesting to do, plus it really gets you thinking and whilst you’re searching for colours, you may come across a product you forgot you had! You basically go through the colours of the rainbow and pick products you like that are the corresponding colour, to make it easier and more varied, the colour of the packaging also counts.

RED
Essie Nail Polish in Olé Caliente - This nail polish is described as being a red/orange shade with pink undertones, but I would say it is more of a bold scarlet red with fuchsia undertones and it is one of my favourites from my collection and the brand Essie overall. It was part of the Spring 2012 collection and I have it swatched here.

ORANGE
MUA Power Pout in Justify - I don’t know if this really counts, but it is the only remotely orange product I had other than nail polish. The actual stick of product and packaging is orange, but it looks coral when swatched but appears a light coral pink on my lips. It is a really nice product and very inexpensive.

YELLOW
Maybelline Volum’ Express The Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara - I finished this mascara a while ago but for some reason I still have the tube and a good job too. The only other yellow product I could find was a nail polish and I’ve already mentioned one. I did really enjoy using this mascara, it gave volume, length, definition and it wasn’t clumpy. It also made your eyes look kind of cat eye because of the effects it gave to your lashes.

GREEN
NYX Slide On Eye Pencil in Esmeralda - This is an emerald green shade eyeliner and it is very creamy and one of my favourites. I really like the slide on pencils from NYX in general and this particular shade is beautiful. I have it swatched here.

BLUE
Purity Plus+ Deep Pore Cleansing 2 in 1 Cleansing & Toning Lotion - This is my current morning cleanser and it definitely makes a difference, because if you saw the debris on the cotton pad, you would be surprised. I originally bought this because my Morrisons one was out of stock, but this one is just as good and it is also a toner and very inexpensive. I found it for 99p in a discount shop. The only bad thing is that where I got it from, stock changes regularly, so it will be pot luck whether I manage to find it again when I need to re-purchase.

INDIGO
Impulse Body Spray in Into Glamour - This was the only product I could find close to an indigo shade. It is not my favourite Impulse scent but it is very nice and strong, but not overpowering and I would class it as more of a night time scent. I have already reviewed it here.

VIOLET
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original - This is my most used eye primer and I love it! It is quite expensive and I am going to do a test soon against other cheaper ones to see which is better. Mine is actually in the old packaging and it has lasted me quite a long time.

PINK
Soap & Glory Peaches and Clean Deep Cleansing Milk - I use this as my everyday face wash/cleanser and it definitely does the job. It leaves your face feeling clean and refreshed and the only problem I have is that if I miss a day using it, my skin breaks out, so I use it every night in the shower unless I am using a face scrub or mask.

MULTI-COLOURED
Urban Decay Oz: The Great and Powerful Theodora Palette - This product isn’t rainbow coloured, but I have been using it a lot lately and it does have some colour in it. It comes with eight eyeshadow shades, a black eyeliner and red lip crayon. Every product is very pigmented and the tin is lovely and the biggest reason I purchased it! It was limited edition, but I think you can still get hold of it if you look hard enough.

I hope you enjoyed my written version of this TAG and please leave me suggestions below for more TAG’s.

Thank you for reading J

Glossybox #25 - February 2019

This is my third Glossybox since I re-subscribed last year. It is also the Valentine’s Day themed box. I would say that so far, this box seems to be the one most tailored to my usual interests. I received seven products in this box, technically six because two go hand in hand. HUDA BEAUTY Lip Contour in Venus This lip pencil formula is supposed to be waterproof and transfer-free. It should glide on effortlessly and give your lips an intense shot of colour. You can use it to contour or colour your lips or pair it with a lipstick. Venus is a warm beige nude shade. It glides onto your lips very easy, but it feels a little tacky when you fill your whole lips in with it. I’m not sure how often I would use this seeing as though I have never used lip liner. I prefer liquid lipsticks and I don’t feel the need to line my lips before applying it. | 1.20g - £16.00 | NAILS INC Nail Varnish in Status Ready This nail polish should be long lasting and super glossy. It is a deep che

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Jawbreaker Palette

I bought this palette back when it first launched (summer 2019) and I was interested in it so I could experiment more with bright colours. The colour selection definitely doesn’t disappoint and I was expecting it to be the same quality as the Blood Sugar Palette, if not slightly better! The packaging is quite a large rectangular shape and made out of metallic pink cardboard with colourful dots/dashes all over representing a jawbreaker pattern. The name of the palette is in a slightly raised font. It has a magnetic closing which you lift to reveal the twenty-four eyeshadow pans arranged on a white background. The other side is the same pattern as the front cover with a mirror. You can purchase it for £54.00 ($58.00) from JeffreeStarCosmetics.com and BeautyBay.com. You get twenty-four 1.50g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Shimmer (S) and Metallic (ME) finishes. Swatch Stencil: Stripes Double 14 Pan by SwatchPerfect.co.uk Virgin - bone white (M) Good Morning - soft pink

e.l.f Earth & Ocean Palette

I haven’t purchased anything from e.l.f in the longest time. I happened upon a post of this palette on Instagram and the complimentary comments really peaked my interest in trying it for myself. Palettes I have tried from e.l.f. in the past haven’t been the greatest of quality; I kind of associate the brand as being for children, beginners or natural beauty wearers. I was also interested in the Retro Paradise Palette , but I thought I would get more use out of this one at the moment.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is quite simple with a clear/black outlined plastic rectangular shape. The fronting is transparent so that you can see the eyeshadows from the outside of the palette. It has a clip closing, which you push apart to reveal the inside. The square eyeshadow pans are spread out across a black base and the shade names are printed in grey font under each pan. THE EYESHADOWS & FORMULA You get eighteen 0.94g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Metallic (ME), Glitter (G), Satin (S) and Shimmer
