Urban Decay Urban Essentials Eye Kit

I was browsing RosesBeautyStore and came across this set and bought it straight away. It is exactly the sort of set that appeals to me and Urban Decay doesn’t release kits/sets very often.
The packaging for the kit is purple themed and kind of amethyst inspired. It has a card sleeve that you slide off to reveal the box itself, which is made of cardboard. It has a flip up lid with a magnetic close and when you lift it up there is a black insert which contains the seven products. Six of the products are full size and the seventh is a sample size. The insert can be removed and you can re-use the box.
You get a 2ml sample tube of the Eyeshadow Primer Potion in the Original shade, which dries transparent. The full size 10ml tube is worth £16.00 and is available in three shades. I have used this primer before and already own a couple of tubes. It is a great primer and a trusted favourite of mine.

You get three full size 1.5g eyeshadows, which retail for £14.00 each.
Bordello - pale mauve with gold glitter (shimmer, glitter)
Sellout - pink champagne (shimmer)
Psychedelic Sister - deep amethyst (shimmer)
These are three shades you wouldn’t necessarily think go together, but they do work and look beautiful blended together. They all have amazing pigmentation and are just pretty shades. I think my favourite is Bordello.

You also get three full size 1.2g 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils, which sell for £15.50 each.
Demolition - deep brown with a matte finish
Psychedelic Sister - bright creamy purple
Zero - zealous matte black
I already own a lot of these pencils and they are my favourite pencil eyeliners, I am a little addicted to them and buy all the sets that contain them (I have a problem). I already have a few Zero pencils, but Demolition and Psychedelic are new to me. They are all creamy, non-smudging and very easy to apply but they can be a little pain to take off. They can also be used on your waterline/tightline.
I really like this kit. The three eyeshadows are perfect shades for me and I love any of the eyeliner pencils. It is always nice getting a tube of eye primer too. This product will definitely appeal to a lot of people and is a good place to start if you are new to UD products. If I was creating a starter kit or essentials kit, I would probably use more neutral shades, but all the colours in this kit do go together. The good thing is the price (I bought it for £45.00); if you were to buy each product separately you would be spending around £90.50, so this kit is definitely worth the price tag.

Glossybox #25 - February 2019

This is my third Glossybox since I re-subscribed last year. It is also the Valentine’s Day themed box. I would say that so far, this box seems to be the one most tailored to my usual interests. I received seven products in this box, technically six because two go hand in hand. HUDA BEAUTY Lip Contour in Venus This lip pencil formula is supposed to be waterproof and transfer-free. It should glide on effortlessly and give your lips an intense shot of colour. You can use it to contour or colour your lips or pair it with a lipstick. Venus is a warm beige nude shade. It glides onto your lips very easy, but it feels a little tacky when you fill your whole lips in with it. I’m not sure how often I would use this seeing as though I have never used lip liner. I prefer liquid lipsticks and I don’t feel the need to line my lips before applying it. | 1.20g - £16.00 | NAILS INC Nail Varnish in Status Ready This nail polish should be long lasting and super glossy. Jeffree Star Cosmetics Jawbreaker Palette

I bought this palette back when it first launched (summer 2019) and I was interested in it so I could experiment more with bright colours. The colour selection definitely doesn’t disappoint and I was expecting it to be the same quality as the Blood Sugar Palette, if not slightly better! The packaging is quite a large rectangular shape and made out of metallic pink cardboard with colourful dots/dashes all over representing a jawbreaker pattern. The name of the palette is in a slightly raised font. It has a magnetic closing which you lift to reveal the twenty-four eyeshadow pans arranged on a white background. The other side is the same pattern as the front cover with a mirror. You can purchase it for £54.00 ($58.00) from JeffreeStarCosmetics.com and BeautyBay.com. You get twenty-four 1.50g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Shimmer (S) and Metallic (ME) finishes. e.l.f Earth & Ocean Palette

I haven’t purchased anything from e.l.f in the longest time. I happened upon a post of this palette on Instagram and the complimentary comments really peaked my interest in trying it for myself. Palettes I have tried from e.l.f. in the past haven’t been the greatest of quality; I kind of associate the brand as being for children, beginners or natural beauty wearers. I was also interested in the Retro Paradise Palette , but I thought I would get more use out of this one at the moment.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is quite simple with a clear/black outlined plastic rectangular shape. The fronting is transparent so that you can see the eyeshadows from the outside of the palette. It has a clip closing, which you push apart to reveal the inside. The square eyeshadow pans are spread out across a black base and the shade names are printed in grey font under each pan. THE EYESHADOWS & FORMULA You get eighteen 0.94g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Metallic (ME), Glitter (G), Satin (S) and Shimmer
