KALEIDOS Futurism VI: Lunar Lavender Palette

This is my second KALEIDOS palette and I bought it from the same Depop seller as last time. I also purchased the Futurism I: Sci-Fi Green and Futurism VII: Sashimi City Palettes, reviews on those will be coming soon.
THE PACKAGING
The packaging is a long thin rectangle shape and the concept reminds me of a wardrobe. There is a purple, pink and rose gold coral (the reef kind) and cloud theme all over the packaging. It has a magnetic closing and you open up the left side first and then the right side to reveal the circular eyeshadow pans and long thin mirror inside. The outside theme continues to the inside, but the colours are lilac, pink, peach and orange with rose gold. The eyeshadow names come printed on a plastic sheet.

Dreamscape - icy silver lilac (S)*
Midnight Flora - warm violet (M)
Wisteria - lavender (M)*
Crated Grove - plum brown (M)*

The shades marked with an asterisk (*) are Pressed Pigments. According to USA Law, Pressed Pigments are not intended for use around the immediate eye area as they can cause temporary staining to the area of skin they are applied to.

MY THOUGHTS
·         Primer/Base - The eyeshadows are pigmented enough without a primer or base, but I would always lay one down. I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Too Faced Glitter Glue.
·         Pigmentation - These eyeshadows swatch beautifully and I am happy to say that the same level of pigmentation also transfers on to the eyes with brush/finger application (apart from one shade). They are buttery, soft and smooth.
·         Application (wet/dry) - The eyeshadows can be applied wet or dry. I always use mattes dry, unless I am applying them to my lower lash line or using them as eyeliner. I sometimes apply metallics/shimmers wet, but it depends on the formula and whether they contain glitters. Wet application can max up the pigmentation and help prevent fallout.
·         Blending - This was effortless and some shades blend together well.
·         Kick-Back - Obviously, there is always going to be kick-back in your eyeshadow pans as you are disturbing powders. The kick-back was not a concern or issue for me in this particular palette.
·         Fallout - You will only get slight fallout from the two glittery shades if you do not apply a tacky enough base.

I enjoyed this palette, but I didn’t love it like I thought I would! The overall formula and packaging is great, but the shade selection is a little odd to me. The brown shades are cool toned so they don’t look too off next to the purples, but I just don’t associate browns and purples as going together, especially in this line up. Using just the matte brown shades together and then putting one of the metallic purples on the lid looks good, but I couldn’t really get the matte browns and purples to work together properly in one look. You can use the browns on your main eye area and then a purple on the lash line, but not really together on the main eye area.  My favourite shade is Moonroof; it is just a stunning metallic shade and it looks so dreamy all over the eyelid. The only downsides are that the shade Wisteria is really light on my skin tone, so it took a few layers to get proper colour payoff, also it kind of disappears if you blend Midnight Flora into it and the metallic shades don’t really have too much base colour to them. This is most noticeable with Dreamscape because it is already a lighter shade, Moonroof doesn’t look quite as obvious. Layering is definitely key! I also wish that the shade names were printed underneath each shade in the palette rather than having the little plastic sheet. Overall, it is a cute palette but I mostly like it for the two metallic/glitter shades if I am honest. There is nothing wrong with the quality; I just wouldn’t get much use out of the colour story due to lack of inspiration. I still have four more of the Futurism Palettes to try out and I will post about them soon.

Perfume Power! - Harajuku Lovers 'G'

I received this perfume as an Easter gift from a family member. The bottle design is really cute. It has a doll figure cap, which lifts off and the actual bottle is clear and simple glass, it kind of has a flower shaped base. The size I have is very small, so it is handy for your handbag. And I suppose you could keep the doll for collector’s purposes, when you have used up the perfume. The fragrance notes are:- Top Notes: Crisp Mandarin, Fresh Coconut & Apple Skin Middle Notes: Jasmine Sambac, Soft Freesia & Magnolia Vapour Base Notes: Coconut Cream, White Sandalwood & Cottonwoods To me it smells really strong for an eau de toilette. I quite like the scent because it is very feminine and quite sweet. The only thing I don’t like about it is the coconut. I don’t really like the coconut scent anyway. Other than that, it smells amazing, until the coconut hits your nose. I can also smell the floral side to it as well, the coconut does complement the flor...

Graze - Box #10

I have another Graze box post for you today. I am thinking of stopping these posts soon because it is starting to feel compulsory and I need to post more relevant beauty related content. A closer look at my treats. Graze’s Popping Corn ‘Lightly Salted’ I have tried this before and it is really nice and not overly salty. You get quite a bit of corn in the bag too, even though it is a small packet. Lightly Toasted Pistachios “Whole pistachios toasted with a little salt” I have had this packet before too and I just love pistachios! Tomato & Basil Pizza “Basil crunchini, cheese cashews & mini tomato breadsticks” This is my first experience with this packet, but each snack has been in other packets I have tried before. The crunchini is very nice and it’s just like croutons. The cheese cashews are nice and I do still really like the tomato breadsticks/baguettes. Herby Bread Basket “Basil baguettes, garlic crostini and oregano ric...

I have never heard of the MODEL CO brand before, but judging by their website, they are marketed as high end. I’m not sure what size the items in the magazines are, but I have listed the full sizes and prices below.
