JUVIA'S PLACE The Tribe Palette

I just happened to be browsing on Twitter a few months ago and I saw a post from BeautyBay that said this palette was now available. I hadn’t seen it before, but I do already own a couple of Juvia’s Place Palettes, so I am aware of the quality. I bought it straight away and couldn’t wait to start experimenting with it. I have recently been incorporating more colours into my eye looks.
The packaging is just like the other nine pan eyeshadow palettes that Juvia’s does. It is square shaped cardboard and a bright lime colour with a beautiful African design on the front. It has a magnetic closing and when the lid is lifted it reveals the nine eyeshadow pans on a shiny green gold background. The eyeshadow pans are very large and the shade names are written in white under each pan. It is available for £19.50 ($20.00) from Juviasplace.com and BeautyBay.com.
You get nine 3.6g eyeshadows in matte (M) and shimmer (S) finishes.
Maasai - bold lime green yellow (M)
Oromo - bright tangerine orange (M)
Tutsi - vivid dark lime green (M)
Koro - gold champagne with green undertones (S)
Chaga - golden bronze with gold reflects (S)
Kuba - metallic dark emerald green with green reflects (S)
Ashanti - sultry russet tawny brown (M)
Kurla - bright rusty orange copper (S)
San - seaweed forest green (M)

The eyeshadows should be highly pigmented and blend effortlessly. It is cruelty-free and vegan.

This palette is gorgeous! The packaging and overall aesthetic is stunning. All of the shades are extremely pigmented, soft and blend beautifully. I still recommend using a primer for longevity and intensity. The shimmery shades are best applied using a finger or a synthetic dense eyeshadow brush. Not one of the shades is bad. My favourites are Tutsi and Koro. This is one of the most cohesive colour stories that I have seen from Juvia’s Place. Usually, they have stunning bright shades, but it is hard for me to create looks if some of the shades are not from the same colour group. My favourite look I created with this palette was with Maasai and Tutsi in the crease, Kuba on the eyelid, Chaga on the inner eyelid, Tutsi on the lower lash line with a bit of San and then Koro in the inner corner of the eye for highlighting. I cannot recommend this palette enough. I have my eye on a couple more JP’s palettes, but the colour stories may be too adventurous for me, but we will see.

The only strange thing was that this palette was first available on BeautyBay.com for £30.00, but as of 15th March 2020; it is now saying £19.50! I’m not sure if this means it is on sale or that they have now changed the retail prices, but there is no ‘discount sale’ notice anywhere on the product page!!

Glossybox #25 - February 2019

This is my third Glossybox since I re-subscribed last year. It is also the Valentine’s Day themed box. I would say that so far, this box seems to be the one most tailored to my usual interests. I received seven products in this box, technically six because two go hand in hand. HUDA BEAUTY Lip Contour in Venus This lip pencil formula is supposed to be waterproof and transfer-free. It should glide on effortlessly and give your lips an intense shot of colour. You can use it to contour or colour your lips or pair it with a lipstick. Venus is a warm beige nude shade. It glides onto your lips very easy, but it feels a little tacky when you fill your whole lips in with it. I’m not sure how often I would use this seeing as though I have never used lip liner. I prefer liquid lipsticks and I don’t feel the need to line my lips before applying it. | 1.20g - £16.00 | NAILS INC Nail Varnish in Status Ready This nail polish should be long lasting and super glossy. Jeffree Star Cosmetics Jawbreaker Palette

I bought this palette back when it first launched (summer 2019) and I was interested in it so I could experiment more with bright colours. The colour selection definitely doesn’t disappoint and I was expecting it to be the same quality as the Blood Sugar Palette, if not slightly better! The packaging is quite a large rectangular shape and made out of metallic pink cardboard with colourful dots/dashes all over representing a jawbreaker pattern. The name of the palette is in a slightly raised font. It has a magnetic closing which you lift to reveal the twenty-four eyeshadow pans arranged on a white background. The other side is the same pattern as the front cover with a mirror. You can purchase it for £54.00 ($58.00) from JeffreeStarCosmetics.com and BeautyBay.com. You get twenty-four 1.50g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Shimmer (S) and Metallic (ME) finishes. e.l.f Earth & Ocean Palette

I haven’t purchased anything from e.l.f in the longest time. I happened upon a post of this palette on Instagram and the complimentary comments really peaked my interest in trying it for myself. Palettes I have tried from e.l.f. in the past haven’t been the greatest of quality; I kind of associate the brand as being for children, beginners or natural beauty wearers. I was also interested in the Retro Paradise Palette , but I thought I would get more use out of this one at the moment.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is quite simple with a clear/black outlined plastic rectangular shape. The fronting is transparent so that you can see the eyeshadows from the outside of the palette. It has a clip closing, which you push apart to reveal the inside. The square eyeshadow pans are spread out across a black base and the shade names are printed in grey font under each pan. THE EYESHADOWS & FORMULA You get eighteen 0.94g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Metallic (ME), Glitter (G), Satin (S) and Shimmer
