Benefit Cheek Stars Reunion Tour Palette

I’ve wanted to try the highlighter Cookie from Benefit for ages, but always decided against purchasing a single of it as I always declutter the single boxed powders by Benefit, so I didn’t want to waste money again. Also, I have far too many single highlighters (OFRA ♥) as it is! I kept seeing Beauty Influencers on YouTube use this palette, so I decided to purchase it for myself.
You get five full sized powders inside a cute compact palette. You also get a free face brush which also fits inside the palette and a Tips & Tricks Card. You can purchase it for £53.50 ($60.00) from BenefitCosmetics.com. There is also a mini version available of this palette (Cheek Stars Mini Reunion Tour Palette), which includes; Georgia, Sugarbomb and Hoola for £26.00 ($30.00). All five powders are also available in singles and mini/travel singles.
Swatch Stencil: Stripes 7 Pan by SwatchPerfect.co.uk
Dallas - rosy bronze blush (9g)
Sugarbomb - rosy pink blush (7g)
Cookie - golden pearl highlighter (8g)
Georgia - golden peach blush (8g)
Hoola - brown matte bronzer (8g)

My First Impressions
I love the compact packaging, I’m not interested in the brush and some of the powders are scented (smells lovely). Long ago I did really want Dallas and in person it is actually quite light. I always thought it would be darker. If you have a very fair complexion, you may be able to use this as bronzer. I’ve had Sugarbomb before and I was never that keen on it because it is shimmery and I don’t get the point of having several shades together in one pan. It is quite rosy and the shimmer is actually not that visible on the cheeks. It is still not really my sort of shade. I really wanted to try Cookie as I had heard it was supposed to be good. I have previously tried another Benefit highlighter and I wasn’t impressed so I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one. It is very reflective and it looks silver/platinum and metallic. It also appears as though there is some glitter. It is definitely not for the faint of heart. It isn’t my favourite highlighter that I’ve ever tried, but it is a thousand times better than the last Benefit highlighter I tried! Georgia is new to me. Apparently it was released years ago and was then discontinued and now it is back. It is a shimmery blush, which again isn’t for me, but it does look pretty on the skin. I actually already have a mini of Hoola and I have had it before. I wasn’t a massive fan as I thought it always looked orange on me, but it doesn’t look too bad if it is blended out well. You definitely need a light hand and a fluffy brush for Hoola! Overall, this is a great palette to try different Benefit cheek products if you are on the fence about purchasing a single. All of the powders are actually full size in this palette, which is amazing and you are saving £81.50!. Who doesn’t love to save money on make-up? I can’t wait to play with this palette a little more!

Oden's Eye Solmåne Eyeshadow Palette

I first heard of this indie brand through watching Angelika Oles’ beauty channel on YouTube. Oden’s Eye is a Swedish indie brand and they make Norse mythology themed products. This is one of two eyeshadow palettes I decided to purchase; I also picked up the two matching highlighter palettes.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is small and rectangular in shape. It is made out of cardboard and it has a sort of textured covering (like on pogs). The design and imagery is so unique to the brand. Solmåne means the sun and moon in Swedish. Sol represents the Sun Goddess and Måne represents the Moon God. Both Gods are represented on the packaging. There is a colour split of warm and cool toned shades (lavender, pink, orange & yellow) along with moon, star and Norse symbols. The wheel around the Gods is metallic gold, so it really reflects the light when you move the palette around. The eyeshadow shade names are printed on the back of the palette. The palette has a magnetic closing/opening, ...

Empties #10 - August & September 2013

I have combined two month’s worth of empties again. At the end of August my box wasn’t that full, so I decided to carry on collecting and hope I use up more stuff. The majority of stuff I used up was necessities as usual, but there are some extra bits too. Here is what I managed to use up within two months:- Morrisons So Clear Dual Action Moisturiser | 100ml I have used another tube of this and have already re-purchased it. It works really well and doubles as a hand cream and most importantly, it is very inexpensive. Price - £1.49 Listerine Total Care Mouthwash in Clean Mint (Purple) | 500ml This is my favourite mouthwash and I have already re-purchased it. Although I get it for around £2.99, I still wish it was cheaper. Price - £4.60 Right Guard Women Total Defence 5 48H Invisible Power Anti-Perspirant Deodorant | 150ml + 250ml I have used more of these as usual and I still haven’t found anything that is better. I have however found a cheaper place to buy it f...

Review: Travalo Classic

I was sorting through some old pictures in my blog folder on my computer and I came across some Travalo pictures I took, and remembered I was mean’t to do a post about it. So better late than never, I am going to share with you how to use it and what I think. About the Travalo The Travalo is a small and handy perfume atomiser that allows you to decant a small amount of your favourite perfume into the tube and carry it with you, so you don’t have to carry around the bottle. It is made of strong, light aluminium and is 80mm in size and holds 4ml of liquid, which is approximately fifty sprays. It is also a “perfectly” rounded shape, which means there are no corners, so you don’t have to worry about it ripping your handbag, purse and pockets or scratching any furniture and surfaces. How to Use It If you want to decant some perfume to put in the Travalo you need to: 1. Take the spray cap off the perfume bottle 2. Get your Travalo and hold it upright over the spray s...
