MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS
I like the sleek packaging and the shade selection is beautiful. The pigmentation and coverage is great, but a couple of the metallic shades don’t really have a base pigment to them, which means they don’t stand out as much. The texture of the matte shades is almost like concealer until they dry down and the metallic shades have the regular liquid eyeshadow texture, just a bit wet. The matte shades dry down smooth, but the metallic shades can look a bit peely and congealed. The mattes blend pretty easy; you can still go back and blend a bit more if you need to even though it may have already dried down. You can blend them with powder eyeshadows, but it can look a bit patchy depending on what shades you are using. I found the neutral shades looked less obvious. You do get a molten metal look with the metallic shades and they do dry quickly. My favourite shades are; French Lace & Diamond Drips, Do Not Disturb, Double Pump Latte and Fro-Yo.

The four shades I am missing are; Cinnamon Toast & Hella Honey, Ca$hmere Robe & Penthouse Suite, Request Line & Slow Jams and V-I-Pink & Million Dollar Deals.

BY BEAUTY BAY Fiery 16 Colour Palette

This is the third BY BEAUTY BAY make-up product I’ve tried and I did see it on the website when it first launched, but never picked it up. It was always sold out anyway so I couldn’t get it and the packaging has just been re-vamped for all of their palettes and all of the products were re-stocked. I decided to pick this one up because of the size, it’s not too small and it’s not too big. The nine shade version of this palette is all matte, and I really like shimmers/metallic and the massive forty-two shade version is too big (too many shades and too big to store in my drawers). I thought the sixteen shade palette would be the perfect medium. My palette actually arrived faulty; one of the eyeshadows is missing (Burnt Sienna). In the spot were Burnt Sienna should be there is actually a duplicate of another shade in the palette (Sunstone). Basically, I have two Sunstone eyeshadows and I should only have one. I don’t have the shade Burnt Sienna when I should have one of them (abov...

Morphe X Jaclyn Hill Volume II Palette

This palette has been out for a while now and I did purchase it a while ago, but I have only just decided to really play with it. Morphe palettes in general put me off because of the size of them, no shade names, boring packaging and too many shades in some palettes. The colour story of this palette in particular is really attractive to me. I didn’t buy Volume I as I didn’t want to jump on the band wagon, the size of the packaging and the colour story is just boring to me. I did pick up the Vault Collection (four palettes) and what a massive disappointment it was too (now decluttered)!! I was initially put off this palette due to my past experiences, but the colour story though! Also, a good thing about the Morphe website is that you can always get 10% off your order with an affiliate code.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is a quite large thin rectangular shape. It is made out of glossy white cardboard and it has the branding and information printed in metallic silver font on the fro...

Anastasia Beverly Hills X Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit

This palette became a cult favourite in the beauty sphere when it was first released as a limited edition product in collaboration with Nicole Guerriero (Beauty Influencer on YouTube), and there have been many calls to bring it back. In 2020, Anastasia Beverly Hills finally listened after three long years! I only actually heard about this palette after it had completely sold out and was no longer available. I must have been living under a rock at some point during 2017, because I completely missed this product! I am glad I finally got the chance to get my hands on this palette and I have heard nothing but raving reviews. There are six metallic highlighter shades, which should be highly luminous. They have a refined formula that should deliver buildable coverage with a smooth finish. The shades were created to flatter all skin tones and they can be applied anywhere on the face, eyes, lips and body. The palette is cruelty-free and vegan. You can purchase the palette for £42.00 (...
