MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS
I like the sleek packaging and the shade selection is beautiful. The pigmentation and coverage is great, but a couple of the metallic shades don’t really have a base pigment to them, which means they don’t stand out as much. The texture of the matte shades is almost like concealer until they dry down and the metallic shades have the regular liquid eyeshadow texture, just a bit wet. The matte shades dry down smooth, but the metallic shades can look a bit peely and congealed. The mattes blend pretty easy; you can still go back and blend a bit more if you need to even though it may have already dried down. You can blend them with powder eyeshadows, but it can look a bit patchy depending on what shades you are using. I found the neutral shades looked less obvious. You do get a molten metal look with the metallic shades and they do dry quickly. My favourite shades are; French Lace & Diamond Drips, Do Not Disturb, Double Pump Latte and Fro-Yo.

The four shades I am missing are; Cinnamon Toast & Hella Honey, Ca$hmere Robe & Penthouse Suite, Request Line & Slow Jams and V-I-Pink & Million Dollar Deals.

You can purchase the HUDA BEAUTY Matte & Metal Melted Shadows for £22.00 each from HudaBeauty.com.

Birchbox #2 - July 2014

This is my second ever Birchbox (arrived yesterday) and I was interested to see if it beat last month’s box. I got another free lifestyle extra, so I am assuming you get one every month! Here is what I received this month:- Models Own Nail Polish in Sparkler | £5 – ModelsOwnIt.com | This is my first ever Models Own nail polish and it is from the Fireworks collection. It looks like a very pretty top coat, but I’m not sure if I would actually use it. Only time will tell! Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream | £20 (15ml) – BalanceMe.co.uk | I have owned a lip balm from this brand before and this eye cream does sound interesting. I will give it a go because I am always on the lookout for a new/different eye cream. LAQA & CO Lip Lube in Menatour | £14.95 (full size) – LAQAandCO.co.uk | I have never heard of this brand before and this product looks very interesting. It is a cute mini size and the colour is a bright purple. It is not something I would typically we...

Perfume Power! - Soap & Glory™ 'Original Pink'

Courtesy of HarveyNichols.com I got this in the ‘Heaven Nose’ gift set one year from the Boxing Day sales after Christmas. The bottle is a round shape made of silver mirrored glass, with the Soap & Glory logo as pink lettered stickers scattered on the front as the design. It has a regular perfume spritzer and instead of the regular bottle cap, this has a small band, which you push in so that it clings around the spritzer and prevents the spritzer from spraying. To use the perfume, you have to pull the band off by using the attached brown ribbon with pink detailing. The fragrance notes are:- Bergamot, Summer Rose, Peach, Strawberry, Gardenia Blooms, Jasmine, Patchouli, Amber & Musk This perfume is described as being fresh, fruity and light. It is definitely a light feminine scent. It is not overpowering at all. The bottle has a very simple and girly design and the scent is the Formula 1 scent, which is what most of Soap & Glory products smell li...

Glossybox #17 - October 2015

I can’t believe that we are nearly half way through October already! It seems like the year has flown by recently. I wasn’t really looking forward to this box, but it has surprised me a bit. Here is what I received this month: So Susan Haute Light Highlighting Pencil | £15.00 | I prefer a highlighter like Benefit High Beam, so it will be interesting to see how this works. It does come across relatively creamy for a sharp jumbo pencil. Talika Photo-Hydra Day Moisturiser | 30ml - £24.85 | Another moisturiser for your face is always very useful.  I can’t really see it being anything special. Nicka K Airbrush Blending Sponge | £6.50 | This looks quite a bit like the BeautyBlender, but has a different shape. I imagine it will do the exact same thing, but it is a lot cheaper option. I am interested in giving it a try, although I prefer the old finger and hand method of applying foundation and concealer. Jelly Pong Pong Play Paint in Damson | £8.95 | It ...
