After being blown away by the Holy Grail Palette, I just couldn’t pass on this one! The shade selection doesn’t appeal to me as much, but I know the quality will be there. Also, this palette is limited edition so I wouldn’t recommend hesitating if you are interested in it. I believe this palette is a collaboration with a YouTuber called Laura Lee. I don’t know anything about Laura, but from what I gather she makes beauty videos. The palette design is similar to the Holy Grail Palette but the colour scheme is different, but it still has the holographic effect on the packaging. It has a rectangular shape to it and it is slightly bulky and has a little weight to it. It has a magnetic closing and when you lift the lid it reveals the eyeshadow pans and a mirror. The packaging colour scheme is black and silver. You get twenty 36g eyeshadows in a variety of shades and finishes. Today I have a mini mascara to share with you. It is Better Than Sex by Too Faced and it is a 4.8g sample of the full size black mascara. The brush has a rounded hourglass shape and your lashes will look perfect after one coat! This mascara is easy to apply and it curls (long lasting), volumises and adds length and separates your lashes. Your lashes will look thicker with the dark black colour of the formula. It is mostly smudge-proof, but if your eyes water it will transfer slightly. The good news is that this mascara is also available in a waterproof formula. I felt like baking on Saturday and I thought I would also share the recipe with you. I decided on carrot cake as it is my favourite and with it being Mother’s Day the day after, I thought making it as cupcakes would be a cute sweet treat for my Mum as well as pacifying my carrot cake craving! This isn’t really a traditional carrot cake recipe, but it is the one my Mum has always used and I don’t like fruits and nuts in cakes anyway. I decided to buy this perfume as it was on my test list on Fragrantica and I saw it for a decent price. I have been struggling to find places to buy perfume samples lately, so I took a gamble and bought the smallest bottle size I could. I got the 30ml bottle in the eau de parfum. The bottle is made of glass and kind of an hourglass shape, just like some of Christina’s other perfumes. It has a yellow gold flower design on the thinnest part of the bottle and Christina’s name is printed in hot pink and the perfume name printed in yellow gold. It also has yellow gold banding around the neck for the cap to sit on. The cap is clear plastic and kind of diamond shaped. It has a slight yellow gold spritzer to dispense the scent. On the outer cardboard box it had this description; “A sensual combination of golden amber and white flowers - radiating femininity the way a woman does”. I have another MAC haul for you today. I’ve been naughty! I bought at bit more than I did last time and I did buy the items I have been looking at for a while. I mean’t to haul these products a couple of weeks ago, but I had a slight issue with my order. I was sent a Pro Longwear Blush in Whole Lotta Love instead of the Fluidline I ordered. I had to put a customer services report in and wait for a reply! I know mistakes can happen, but the blush was £5.50 more than the eyeliner I ordered and I was only charged the eyeliner price. I technically could have kept the blush and re-ordered the eyeliner, therefore saving £5.50 on the blush. The blush wasn’t the right shade for me anyway and I am an honest person. As it turned out, they sent me my Fluidline and they didn’t mention anything about me sending the blush back! I was shopping in Morrison’s just before Black Friday and came across a discount perfume stand. They don’t actually sell perfumes, so I thought it was a bit odd but I decided to have a look and came across this scent. I had been wanting to test it for years but never got around to it. I decided to risk it and buy it as it was only £10.00. I got the 30ml bottle in the eau de toilette. The bottle is heart shaped and is made of thick clear glass and it has a sort of flat diamond shape base to enable it to stand up. The perfume liquid is a light lilac colour. The gold metal cap is crown shaped and has lilac stones stuck around it. The writing on the bottle is in dark purple and has the brand name in bold letters and the fragrance name in a calligraphy type font. It has a regular gold spritzer to dispense the scent. I finally got my hands on this juicy palette! I have been waiting for this to arrive in the UK for ages and I initially wasn’t going to buy it as I have so many other palettes, but when it became available on Debenhams website, I just couldn’t resist! The packaging is like the Chocolate Bar Palettes. It is a thin metal material with a peach and pink blend/fade colour theme. It has raised peaches carved onto the lid and gold writing on the front. It has a secure magnetic opening/close. Inside there is a mirror and the eighteen eyeshadow pans. The shade names are printed in gold above each shade. You get eighteen 0.95g eyeshadows in various peachy pink, coral, bronze and purple shades. The powder formula is infused with peach essence, which gives it that luscious peachy scent. My first post of 2017 is kind of a mega one. I was looking back through some old blog files on my PC and came across a few mascara reviews I did, but never posted. Some of the mascaras are quite old now, but I thought I would group them all together and post them because I still think they are still relevant. Any discontinued products may be available on discount sites or a similar and suitable substitute may be found (ex. a lot of the Maybelline Volum’ Express mascaras perform quite similar). Maybelline One by One Volum’ Express Whenever Maybelline bring out a new Volum’ Express mascara I just have to buy it and this one was no exception. I tend to get them on the £2 off introductory offer.
