Glossybox #5 - April 2012

My April Glossybox arrived this morning, well I had to fetch it because the stupid postman left it in front of my front gate and left the gate wide open, so I’m surprised someone didn’t take it! It is another limited edition box, I’ve only received one regular box since I’ve been subscribed. This box is their Natural Beauty Box, with natural and organic beauty products only and the actual glossybox box is bio-degradable, so it is Earth friendly.
CAUDALIE Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum
- 10ml Sample Size
The beauty card says that this product is a “newly-launched ultra-concentrated serum” and is “plant-based, ensuring your skin never lacks moisture”. This product smells really nice, but I’m not sure that it is something I would incorporate into my face routine, but I’ll look into what a serum actually is and what the benefits are, so I will be trying it soon! It is a 10ml size, but Caudalie samples are never how much they say they are I’ve had a sample before and there was literally one tiny bead of product, much less than what it said was inside.

INIKA Certified Organic Eyeliner in Purple Minx
- 1.2g Sample Size
This product is described as having “a rich and creamy consistency unparalleled in the world of natural liners”. Mine came in a box that said the shade was Black Caviar, but when I opened it and saw it was purple I thought, what? But on the side of the actual pencil it says Purple Minx. It is a dark plum purple colour and is quite creamy, but I have creamier eyeliners that are not organic.

ayuuri Natural Body Wash in Coconut
- 200ml Full Size
The beauty card says, “The Ayuuri Natural skincare range is based on fruit, plant and flower extracts that have long been used in India to enhance skin’s natural beauty”. This product smells quite nice and I don’t like coconut, but the jasmine and aloe vera balance it out for me, so I like it.

Figs & ROUGE Lip Balm in Rambling Rose
- 8ml Full Size
It is described as being a “100% pure, 100% natural and 100% organic multi-purpose balm. Excellent for soothing and naturally hydrating dry lips and skin”. I really love the smells of this and the tin is quite cute too, although the product is quite soft and creamy, not like a Vaseline lip balm in a tin.

Visit www.feelunique.com for 20% off all Figs & Rouge balms. Use the code FIGS20 (expires 20.05.2012)

kai Perfume Oil
- 1.5ml Sample Size
This perfume is described as an “intoxicating signature perfume oil fragranced with Kai’s light, intoxicating blend of gardenia wrapped in white exotics”. It smells quite nice, fresh and really natural. It lasts a few hours on the skin; I would not personally wear this if I didn’t have the sample to use up.

Overall I was quite impressed with this box; definitely a thousand times better than the Harrods box last month!

Oden's Eye Solmåne Eyeshadow Palette

I first heard of this indie brand through watching Angelika Oles’ beauty channel on YouTube. Oden’s Eye is a Swedish indie brand and they make Norse mythology themed products. This is one of two eyeshadow palettes I decided to purchase; I also picked up the two matching highlighter palettes.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is small and rectangular in shape. It is made out of cardboard and it has a sort of textured covering (like on pogs). The design and imagery is so unique to the brand. Solmåne means the sun and moon in Swedish. Sol represents the Sun Goddess and Måne represents the Moon God. Both Gods are represented on the packaging. There is a colour split of warm and cool toned shades (lavender, pink, orange & yellow) along with moon, star and Norse symbols. The wheel around the Gods is metallic gold, so it really reflects the light when you move the palette around. The eyeshadow shade names are printed on the back of the palette. The palette has a magnetic closing/opening, ...

Review: Travalo Classic

I was sorting through some old pictures in my blog folder on my computer and I came across some Travalo pictures I took, and remembered I was mean’t to do a post about it. So better late than never, I am going to share with you how to use it and what I think. About the Travalo The Travalo is a small and handy perfume atomiser that allows you to decant a small amount of your favourite perfume into the tube and carry it with you, so you don’t have to carry around the bottle. It is made of strong, light aluminium and is 80mm in size and holds 4ml of liquid, which is approximately fifty sprays. It is also a “perfectly” rounded shape, which means there are no corners, so you don’t have to worry about it ripping your handbag, purse and pockets or scratching any furniture and surfaces. How to Use It If you want to decant some perfume to put in the Travalo you need to: 1. Take the spray cap off the perfume bottle 2. Get your Travalo and hold it upright over the spray s...

My Favourite TV Series

I have already shared with you some current favourite songs and my favourite films. I thought it was now time to mention my favourite TV series. Here are my top ten favourite TV series:-   Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003) This series is about a teenager who becomes the next vampire slayer. Only one slayer is born into every generation and one has to die for another to be activated. It is a kind of coming of age story and I love strong female characters. I also just loved the fight scenes. I was only four when this series first came out, so I did miss a few seasons at first. About five years ago, I did re-watch all seven seasons. I was sad it ended, but there are only so many monsters you can introduce and slay before it gets monotonous! It did watch the spin-off show Angel, but it didn’t have the same magic and feel to it for me.   Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999-) I am quite partial to a crime drama and it all started with CSI: Miami. I watched all of the Amer...
