GUCCI Mini Perfume Gift Set

Today I am going to review a perfume gift set that I bought from Boots.com during their Boxing Day sales 2014. It is the GUCCI Miniatures Gift Set and it was exclusively sold in Boots stores and on Boots.com. I love the concept of mini perfume sets and it’s a shame that not more brands do them! You get to sample more scents from brands, and if there is a certain perfume you are interested in, you would be able to sample it before potentially wasting your money buying a full size bottle of a scent you might not like. In this particular set you get five (5ml) mini fragrances to sample and I actually already bought a full size of the Guilty scent, but waited until I got this set to test it! A big gamble I know, but it did pay off this time! Here are the five miniature bottles of scents included:-
FLORA BY GUCCI
The bottle is so cute and with a little ribbon bow too. The notes contained in this little bottle are; citrus, peony, mandarin, osmanthus, rose, sandalwood, patchouli and pink pepper. It smells really light and florally. It comes across strong when first applied, but then it settles down and smells delicate. I do quite like this scent, although I wouldn’t re-purchase it as it comes across a bit mature. I give this perfume 4/5.
GUCCI GUILTY
The bottle design is simple but lovely to look at. It contains the notes, mandarin, pink pepper, peach, lilac, geranium, amber and patchouli. To me it smells quite fruity and the floral notes give it that sexy scent. I am actually a little in love with this scent and I am glad that I also bought it in a full size bottle (before trying). It smells quite strong when first applied, but settles a little after, but you can still smell it yourself. I give this perfume 5/5.

GUCCI GUILTY BLACK
The bottle design is a near copy of the Guilty scent, but darker in design. The notes included in this scent are; pink pepper, red berries, raspberry, peach, violet, lilac, patchouli and amber. It smells a lot like the Guilty version, but this one smells more floral and comes across more deep, like you’d expect a night time fragrance to be. I do really like this scent, but I wouldn’t pick it over the regular Guilty version. I give this perfume 4/5.
GUCCI PREMIÈRE
The bottle is simple, squared and block gold. The notes included are; bergamot, blackberry, white flowers, musk, orange blossom, wood, patchouli and sandalwood. It smells quite floral and the musk stands out the most. It is quite a strong scent when first applied, but it does dry down nicely to a warming floral scent. There is a slightly different eau de toilette version of this scent below. I give this perfume 5/5.

GUCCI PREMIÈRE (EAU DE TOILETTE)
The bottle for this scent is the same as the eau de parfum, but the glass is transparent and you can see the liquid perfume. The notes slightly differ to the eau de parfum; bergamot, orange blossom, champagne, Bulgarian rose, freesia, jasmine, musk, patchouli, wood and leather. It smells really light, but not delicate. It has a strong floral scent, but it is not overpowering and actually smells kind of classy. It smells a lot like the eau de parfum in the way that they share the same floral notes, but they do smell different and most notably the fact that the eau de toilette doesn’t contain musk as a note. I actually like both versions of the scent, but if I had to pick one, I would probably choose the original/eau de parfum version. I give this perfume 5/5.

Overall this is a really great sample gift set and I wish more brands did this for their fragrances, especially the more expensive brands. My favourite fragrance from the set is definitely Guilty! I do like the other four scents, but Guilty is the only one I would re-purchase myself (already have!).

HUDA BEAUTY Purple Haze Obsessions Palette

I’ve previously only tried one HUDA BEAUTY mini palette before, but this one really caught my eye. I almost bought the Khaki version too. I eventually decided on only picking up the purple one as I wasn’t massively impressed with the Topaz Obsessions Palette I previously tried.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is made of translucent purple plastic and it is square shaped. It just has the palette branding across the front in place of a design and it has a clip closing, which you lift up to reveal the square eyeshadow pans arranged in threes across an opaque matte purple base. The eyeshadows do not have names. There is also a little mirror on the underside of the lid. THE EYESHADOWS & FORMULA You get nine 0.64g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Metallic (ME) and Shimmery Topper (ST) finishes.   ·          Smokey Shades ·          Buttery Mattes ·          Intense Metal...

Serial Sampler #42

I have wanted to try this fragrance for a very long time and I have seen the advertisements with Charlize Theron countless times over the years. For some reason, I just didn’t look for it to test so I thought it was about time I did. I decided to purchase a sample online.   It is J’adore by Christian Dior and it is a 1ml spritzer sample of the eau de parfum.   “ J’adore’s original composition is a sophisticated harmony blossoming from Comoro Islands Ylang-Ylang and Damascus Rose Essences and Jasmine Sambac Absolute. ” Launched: 1999   Type: Floral Fruity / Feminine Notes Top: Pear, Melon, Magnolia, Peach, Mandarin Orange and Bergamot. Middle: Jasmine, Lily-Of-The-Valley, Tuberose, Freesia, Rose, Orchid, Plum and Violet. Base: Musk, Vanilla, Blackberry and Cedar. My assumption before testing this fragrance is that it would smell like an old classic (old lady) floral. It is very floral, but you do get the hit of the fresh fruity notes. I can mostly detect the Magnoli...
