Glamour Magazine - August 2014

Today I finally got my hands on the Glamour Magazine August 2014 Issue. I had been waiting for two weeks because the gift brand is Clinique and I really wanted the issue with the Clinique Chubby Stick in and they were always the first to go, but I finally have mine!

I really wanted a chubby stick, but there were four gifts to choose from overall:-

I got Woppin’ Watermelon Chubby Stick and it is a nice light pink shade. The formula is very sheer, but very shiny. I can see myself wearing this a lot!

You also get a free sample sachet of Garnier Moisture Match in Shine Be Gone on Page 57.

In next month’s issue it looks like the free gift brand will be Elemis. I probably won’t buy next month’s issue because the only reason I bought this one was to get a chubby stick.

I decided to purchase a sample of this perfume online as I missed out on the free sample offer on Facebook (I had no idea it was being offered). Lady GaGa is the face of the advertising campaign for this fragrance and the television adverts feature a reworked snippet of her song ‘Sine From Above’. It is Voce Viva by Valentino and it is a 1.2ml spritzer sample of the eau de parfum. “ A couture and feminine bouquet of white flowers that gives Italian tradition a contemporary edge. ” Launched: 2020 Type: Floral Woody Musk / Feminine Notes Top: Mandarin Orange, Bergamot and Ginger. Middle: Orange Blossom and Gardenia. Base: Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Musk, Sandalwood and Oakmoss. This is a very soft floral scent and it smells lovely. It dries down very light and not overpowering, which is nice but I feel like it could be a little stronger as it smells quite weak on me. Escada Collector's Edition Gift Set

I’ve always been interested in trying Escada fragrances, but there are so many to choose from and I didn’t want to risk buying a full size bottle. I came across this little gift set whilst I was shopping online at Boots and clicked buy straight away! All four fragrances are in a tiny, but cute 4ml potion looking bottle. Here are the four scents you get to try:- TURQUOISE SUMMER This bottle is a turquoise/clear theme and contains the notes; pineapple, strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant, peach, violet, orange blossom, vanilla, sandalwood and musk. It smells really strong of orange blossom and kind of like a car air freshener. It does linger quite a while on the skin, but it is not really a strong scent. Overall I don’t like this scent. It doesn’t really smell of anything to me and what you can smell isn’t what I would call pleasant. I give this perfume 1/5 . An advertisement popped up on Facebook with an offer of a free sample of this new fragrance and I clicked straight away! I have previously tested the original scent of this fragrance line and I loved it, so I was also expecting to like this one. It is Born In Roma Yellow Dream by Valentino and it is a 1.2ml spritzer sample of the eau de parfum. “ A floral lift of a thousand rose petals, twisted with a new clean and fresh addiction. ” Launched: 2021 Type: Floral / Feminine (Donna) Notes Top: Italian Lemon. Middle: Rose Essence. Base: Clean Accord and White Musks. This is a very soft and delicate floral scent with a fresh musk hint. It is definitely more floral smelling than the original Born In Roma fragrance. I can’t really detect the Italian Lemon. I can pick-up a fruity sort of hint, but it definitely isn’t lemon to me.
