Colourpop Super Shock Shadow Duos

I have previously owned two Colourpop Super Shock Shadows (Sequin and Weenie) a few years ago and I remember not really liking them (I decluttered them in 2017). It was probably the shades I chose, but I don’t know if the formula has changed at all over the years. I decided to purchase two duos from two different collections and I received a third duo as a free gift. I know people tend to use the metallic and glitter ones as sort of toppers, so I decided to choose lighter shades so that they would pop more on the eyelids and inner corners.

MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS
The shades I chose are very pretty and the packaging is very compact and simple. I’m not keen on how the eyeshadow pans are stuck into the pots as when you rub your finger into the eyeshadow to pick up pigment, the pan moves around and feels like it might come loose. I do really like the shades and I love how reflective they are. The texture doesn’t feel particularly creamy and they don’t really have any base pigment to them, which is a little annoying, but I believe that is how they are mean’t to be. The finish of them just looks like powder eyeshadow. You do have to layer them quite a bit to get a good coating on your eye lids and I find they apply better with your finger rather than a brush. I didn’t find that a damp brush helped at all, but glitter glue did help to hold the sparkle on your eye lids. I am really enjoying these eyeshadows at the moment and I would consider purchasing more, but I really shouldn’t as I still prefer regular molten metallic powder eyeshadows that many other brands offer. I think my favourite shade out of the six is Koosh.

Glossybox #25 - February 2019

This is my third Glossybox since I re-subscribed last year. It is also the Valentine’s Day themed box. I would say that so far, this box seems to be the one most tailored to my usual interests. I received seven products in this box, technically six because two go hand in hand. HUDA BEAUTY Lip Contour in Venus This lip pencil formula is supposed to be waterproof and transfer-free. It should glide on effortlessly and give your lips an intense shot of colour. You can use it to contour or colour your lips or pair it with a lipstick. Venus is a warm beige nude shade. It glides onto your lips very easy, but it feels a little tacky when you fill your whole lips in with it. I’m not sure how often I would use this seeing as though I have never used lip liner. I prefer liquid lipsticks and I don’t feel the need to line my lips before applying it. | 1.20g - £16.00 | NAILS INC Nail Varnish in Status Ready This nail polish should be long lasting and super glossy. Jeffree Star Cosmetics Jawbreaker Palette

I bought this palette back when it first launched (summer 2019) and I was interested in it so I could experiment more with bright colours. The colour selection definitely doesn’t disappoint and I was expecting it to be the same quality as the Blood Sugar Palette, if not slightly better! The packaging is quite a large rectangular shape and made out of metallic pink cardboard with colourful dots/dashes all over representing a jawbreaker pattern. The name of the palette is in a slightly raised font. It has a magnetic closing which you lift to reveal the twenty-four eyeshadow pans arranged on a white background. The other side is the same pattern as the front cover with a mirror. You can purchase it for £54.00 ($58.00) from JeffreeStarCosmetics.com and BeautyBay.com. You get twenty-four 1.50g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Shimmer (S) and Metallic (ME) finishes. e.l.f Earth & Ocean Palette

I haven’t purchased anything from e.l.f in the longest time. I happened upon a post of this palette on Instagram and the complimentary comments really peaked my interest in trying it for myself. Palettes I have tried from e.l.f. in the past haven’t been the greatest of quality; I kind of associate the brand as being for children, beginners or natural beauty wearers. I was also interested in the Retro Paradise Palette , but I thought I would get more use out of this one at the moment.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is quite simple with a clear/black outlined plastic rectangular shape. The fronting is transparent so that you can see the eyeshadows from the outside of the palette. It has a clip closing, which you push apart to reveal the inside. The square eyeshadow pans are spread out across a black base and the shade names are printed in grey font under each pan. THE EYESHADOWS & FORMULA You get eighteen 0.94g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Metallic (ME), Glitter (G), Satin (S) and Shimmer
