Blogmas #21 | Benefit Luv It Up! Gift Set (Limited Edition)

I was browsing through LookFantastic.com looking at Benefit products and I came across this gift set. What first drew me in was the tin, it is beautiful. I was also interested in trying the included products and I thought it would be a good way to try more products from Benefit. It is inexpensive and would make a lovely Christmas gift for a beauty junkie.
The products are arranged inside a gorgeous little tiffany blue/lime green inspired tin. Inside the tin is the insert which holds the products in place and it can be removed so the tin can be re-used.
This gift set contains three Longwear Powder Shadows (1.2g sample), one Ultra Plush Lipgloss (6.5ml sample) and one Creaseless Cream Shadow (3.2g sample).
The eyeshadows are Call My Buff (pale shell), Nude Swings (soft rose gold) and Thanks A Latte (golden brown). They are mean’t to be long wearing, feel silky soft and give your eyelids a soft wash of colour, which can be built to intensity. There are also three variations, Matte, Satin and Sheen, but it doesn’t say which ones these three shades fall into.
The cream eyeshadow is R.S.V.P (sparkling champagne). I already have it swatched here. I really love this product and have already reviewed here.

The lipgloss is Dandelion (soft pearly pink). I like this product, but I just do not like lipgloss in general. I have it reviewed it here.
Overall this is a very cute little gift set and the lovely tin can be re-used. I love the creaseless cream eyeshadow and I do like the lipgloss. The powder eyeshadows are a little bit of a let-down. They are slightly long wearing, silky soft, easy to blend and fall-out free. However, they lack pigmentation. They do give your eyelids a soft wash, but it is very hard and near impossible to build to intensity! If you want to make the best of the eyeshadows, you need to apply them over a primer or the creaseless cream shadow included. Although it is a cute set and I would get use out of it, it is more on the nude/natural side and the shades are really subtle and hardly noticeable. They basically give the no make-up, make-up look. If that is what you are after, this would be brilliant for you. I like neutral looks, not nude looks! I wouldn’t re-purchase anything from the set.

Escada Collector's Edition Gift Set

I’ve always been interested in trying Escada fragrances, but there are so many to choose from and I didn’t want to risk buying a full size bottle. I came across this little gift set whilst I was shopping online at Boots and clicked buy straight away! All four fragrances are in a tiny, but cute 4ml potion looking bottle. Here are the four scents you get to try:- TURQUOISE SUMMER This bottle is a turquoise/clear theme and contains the notes; pineapple, strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant, peach, violet, orange blossom, vanilla, sandalwood and musk. It smells really strong of orange blossom and kind of like a car air freshener. It does linger quite a while on the skin, but it is not really a strong scent. Overall I don’t like this scent. It doesn’t really smell of anything to me and what you can smell isn’t what I would call pleasant. I give this perfume 1/5 . BORN IN PARADISE This bottle’s theme is the same as Turquoise Summer and contains the notes; green apple, watermelo...

Serial Sampler #41

An advertisement popped up on Facebook with an offer of a free sample of this new fragrance and I clicked straight away! I have previously tested the original scent of this fragrance line and I loved it, so I was also expecting to like this one.   It is Born In Roma Yellow Dream by Valentino and it is a 1.2ml spritzer sample of the eau de parfum.   “ A floral lift of a thousand rose petals, twisted with a new clean and fresh addiction. ” Launched: 2021   Type: Floral / Feminine (Donna) Notes Top: Italian Lemon. Middle: Rose Essence. Base: Clean Accord and White Musks. This is a very soft and delicate floral scent with a fresh musk hint. It is definitely more floral smelling than the original Born In Roma fragrance. I can’t really detect the Italian Lemon. I can pick-up a fruity sort of hint, but it definitely isn’t lemon to me. I can detect the very light Rose Essence and White Musk and it does smell like a clean scent. It smells like a lovely spring day to me. I w...

Haul: Recent Purchases #3

I just wanted to share with you a few naughty purchases and I’m sure these won’t be the last of this month! From FeelUnique.com I finally got my hands on the Juicy Couture Duo Spray Set , which includes two 7.5ml purse sprays of Viva La Juicy La Fleur and Viva La Juicy . I also bought the Urban Decay Nirvana Build Your Own Quad Palette , as I eventually plan on buying some single UD eyeshadows and need somewhere cute to house them. Lastly, after deciding against the purchase, I listened to the little devil on my shoulder and got theBalm Balmsai Palette . From AllBeauty.com I bought a bigger size of the DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossom Perfume (50ml). I am still working my way through the 30ml, but I just couldn’t pass on the sale discount and I love the scent. I also decided to buy a 30ml bottle of Britney Spears Curious Perfume . It was so inexpensive and I wanted to own the fragrance again. I nearly bought the 100ml as it was equally inexpensive, but I haven’t smelled the...
