Glossybox #23 - December 2018

It is not long now until New Year and as you can see from the title, I have reactivated my Glossybox subscription, AGAIN! My last box was September 2016. I got this box for £7.00 as there was a ‘first box’ discount offer and the postage was £3.25. I couldn’t get the Christmas ‘All That Glitters’ box, so I was sent this one instead. The sticker on the side of the box said this was the ‘Glossy V11 Dec 18’ box. The products I received are:-

WET ONES BE FRESH WIPES
I have seen these wipes before in supermarkets and they are just usual wet wipes. I suppose they come in handy, especially if you carry them in your bag.
12 Wipes - £1.15

LUNA BY LUNA TRANSLUCENT POWDER
I’ve never heard of this brand before and I have only ever tried one translucent loose powder before and I didn’t see what the fuss was about. I will give this one a go though because it is white based and I think the last one I tried was more skin tone based in colour.
5g - $22.00

GARNIER ULTIMATE BLENDS HONEY TREASURES HAIR MASK
I’m not really into hair products, but I think I might give this one a go. This is a 20ml sample size of the full sized product.
300ml - £4.99

BELLÁ PIERRE SHIMMER ROLL IN CHAMPAGNE
I have seen this product before and it doesn’t really interest me at all. I think my Mum received one in a Birchbox not long back. It is a shimmery champagne shade.
2g - £14.99

NIKO PRO LIQUID JELLY BLUSHER IN BALI
I have never heard of this brand before either and this product looks weird. It has a strange consistency and I would say it is wet in texture and I personally wouldn’t class it as jelly. A little goes a long way because it spreads out quite far. It is an interesting shiny, coral pink shade with gold glitter. I prefer powder blush myself.
8g

DOUCCE RELENTLESS MATTE LIP CRAYON IN WINTERBERRY (405)
I haven’t heard of this brand either and the crayon does look like good quality, but it will require sharpening once you use it. It is a deep red shade and I would say it is pink based. I most likely won’t wear it because it is a little bright and my lipstick formula of choice is now liquid.
2.80g - $22.00

I didn’t receive a product card in this box and I don’t know whether it was a mistake or not. I’m sure I remember one box brand were going to stop including product cards so it is more environmentally friendly, because you can log onto your box account and see what products you got. It could well be Glossybox that does this now, because it has been a while since I ordered one. The range of products is a lot better than when I was last subscribed, but again there is not much from it that I would keep and use. I think I will stay subscribed for the time being, but I don’t think it will be a lengthy subscription this time. I hope you all have a wonderful and happy New Year! x

Violet Voss X Laura Lee Palette

After being blown away by the Holy Grail Palette, I just couldn’t pass on this one! The shade selection doesn’t appeal to me as much, but I know the quality will be there. Also, this palette is limited edition so I wouldn’t recommend hesitating if you are interested in it. I believe this palette is a collaboration with a YouTuber called Laura Lee. I don’t know anything about Laura, but from what I gather she makes beauty videos. The palette design is similar to the Holy Grail Palette but the colour scheme is different, but it still has the holographic effect on the packaging. It has a rectangular shape to it and it is slightly bulky and has a little weight to it. It has a magnetic closing and when you lift the lid it reveals the eyeshadow pans and a mirror. The packaging colour scheme is black and silver. You get twenty 36g eyeshadows in a variety of shades and finishes. Serial Sampler #42

I have wanted to try this fragrance for a very long time and I have seen the advertisements with Charlize Theron countless times over the years. For some reason, I just didn’t look for it to test so I thought it was about time I did. I decided to purchase a sample online.   It is J’adore by Christian Dior and it is a 1ml spritzer sample of the eau de parfum.   “ J’adore’s original composition is a sophisticated harmony blossoming from Comoro Islands Ylang-Ylang and Damascus Rose Essences and Jasmine Sambac Absolute. ” Launched: 1999   Type: Floral Fruity / Feminine Notes Top: Pear, Melon, Magnolia, Peach, Mandarin Orange and Bergamot. Middle: Jasmine, Lily-Of-The-Valley, Tuberose, Freesia, Rose, Orchid, Plum and Violet. Base: Musk, Vanilla, Blackberry and Cedar. My assumption before testing this fragrance is that it would smell like an old classic (old lady) floral. It is very floral, but you do get the hit of the fresh fruity notes. I can mostly detect the Magnoli...

Becca's Babble's #4: My Current Favourite Songs

Photo: TheDJ.co.uk I thought I would post about something different today, something not beauty related. I have found myself listening to more music lately, seeing as though I have more time on my hands whilst the UK is on a sort of lockdown and I cannot go to work. By listening to more music, I mean more of the songs I have downloaded. I don’t really get to hear much new music as I do not listen to the radio or watch music channels on the TV. I am also kind of old school with music. I actually download the songs onto my PC instead of using a music streaming service. I just personally find it easier; I can then copy the songs to my phone. Streaming sites tend to delete their content after a while, but if you have the songs downloaded, you can never lose them until you delete them. I do subscribe to Amazon Music for my Echo Dot though, but I do find it incredibly frustrating when Alexa doesn’t understand what I want her to play, even though I am saying it in plain English!! Anyway...
