Serial Sampler #29

I received this mini in a recent LookFantastic Beauty Box and I thought I would give it a test and let you know what I think about it. It is the Black Magic Mascara in Black by Eyeko and it is a 4ml mini of the full sized mascara. This mascara is supposed to give your lashes drama and curl with an intense carbon black finish. The helix shaped brush should lift your lashes for a curl and definition. I have heard good things about this mascara over the years and I just didn’t get around to buying and trying it. I’m happy to say that it does live up to the hype! It is very easy to apply wish the skinny wand and the brush is slightly curved to fit against your lashes. It is separating and it does make your lashes look more defined and not clumpy. Due to the separation and definition, it also gives you a lengthening effect. The volume is great and it is buildable to a point. The colour is very dark black which makes your lashes stand out. You also get the same effects on ...

LOOKFANTASTIC BEAUTY BOX #4 - August 2020

Last month’s box was the Sunkissed Edition and this month we have the Radiance Edition with a coral and pink box. The six items inside the box should be worth over £55.00 altogether and there are two variants of boxes available this month. I received Variant 1, which just has a couple of different products to the ones in Variant 2 (this is apparently due to high demand of subscribers). Here is what I received this month:- AHAVA Deadsea Water Mineral Body Lotion | 40ml - £8.00 | This body lotion is supposed to be deeply hydrating and fast absorbing. It is also supposed to soften and smoot your skin, leaving your skin feeling revitalised refreshed and restored. I have said many times before; I do not like body lotions! I received a body butter last month and haven’t used that, so I probably won’t use this one either. It sounds great, but it is just not something I would appreciate using. | Full Size: 250ml - £23.49 | PERCY & REED Perfectly Perfecting Wonderbalm ...

Discontinued Products I Want Back!

Don’t you just hate it when a brand discontinues your favourite product? Well, I certainly do! I thought I would share with you the products I wish weren’t discontinued. I have re-used some of my old photos for the products, I apologise for the quality. Here are the ten discontinued products I could think of so far:-   Avril Lavigne Black Star Eau de Parfum This perfume was launched way back in 2009 and it is still one of my favourites to this day. I haven’t actually smelled anything like it. The notes are; Black Currant, Mango, Pear, Jasmine, Lotus, Hibiscus, Musk, Sandalwood, Vanille and Mexican Chocolate. It was discontinued a few years ago, I’m not exactly sure when. I remember last seeing it for sale around 2013-2015. I don’t know why it was discontinued because it was a stunning fragrance. I used up my last bottle around two years ago and I am so sad it is no longer available. You can still find old bottles of it on eBay but bottles are being advertised for £100.00...

Maybelline LASH Sensational Mascara

I have tried a lot of the Maybelline Volum’ Express mascaras over the years and I thought I would give their newest addition a go. I love the colour of the packaging, it almost looks rose gold. It also has my favourite type of brush, rubber bristles! The packaging is a sort of rocket tube shape, just like the other Maybelline volum’ express mascaras. The tube is made of plastic and is a metallic blush pink colour. The writing and band between the top and bottom of the tube is black. The brush has a curved shape and is a rubber bristle brush. The formula is creamy but not too wet. You get 9.5ml of product in the tube and the shade I have is Black. You can purchase it for £8.99 ($9.99) from Boots, Superdrug and Ulta. This mascara claims to give you a layered and multiplied look, whilst lengthening and volumising your lashes. It has a new liquid formula with a low wax count which should create very dark and defined black lashes. The brush is Maybelline’s first layer-reveal bru...

Serial Sampler #19

I have a mascara mini/sample to share with you today. I actually purchased it myself and I bought the mini just in case I didn’t like it, and I also have a lot of other mascaras that need using up anyway. It is BADgal BANG! by Benefit and it is a 4g mini of the full sized mascara (8.5g). It is described as being smudge-proof, water resistant, lifting, lengthening and volume building. The mascara is cruelty-free, but not vegan (contains Beeswax). I have previously used the original BADgal Mascara by Benefit and this one is quite different. I remember BADgal being very dark, wet and kind of clumpy, but BADgal BANG! is definitely an improvement. The brush is skinny and kind of arrow shaped, which is perfect for getting your very inner corner lashes and your lower lashes. It definitely lifts, lengthens and separates your lashes, but the volume is not the best. The volume is workable and the formula isn’t clumpy so you can apply more than one layer to build more volume. T...

LANCÔME Monsieur Big Mascara

I’ve had this mascara for a while now and I’ve only just got chance to give it a proper try, so I can let you know what I think of it. It is quite well known in the beauty word, so I was expecting to like this mascara. I also love that the name is part French (Monsieur means Mr/Mister in English) and it reminds me of the TV series; Sex and the City. The packaging is a large shiny plastic black cylindrical tube with a metallic hot pink stamp on the front containing the mascara name. The brand name is written underneath in a metallic hot pink font. You twist the brush cap and lift to pull about the wand/brush. On the end of the cap is a raised black rose image. The brush is big and soft. The bristles are made of soft fibres and it has a tube shape. The formula feels a little thick and kind of tacky. You get 10ml of product in the tube and the shade I have is 01 Big Is The New Black . You can purchase it for £22.00 from Lancome.co.uk and Lancome.com. This mascara is supposed to...

Serial Sampler #16

I have a mascara sample I would like to share with you today. It is  False Lashes Extreme Black  by  MAC  and it is a 1g sample of the full size mascara. It is supposed to make your lashes appear thick, voluminous and full feathered with its ultra-thickening carbon black pigment mousse like formula. It should also lengthen, curl and separate your lashes and it should be long wearing, flake proof and smudge proof. This mascara does add quite a bit volume to your lashes, as well as length, separation and definition. It also slightly curls the tips of your lashes. I’m not sure if the ultra-thickening formula and carbon black pigment really adds anything extra and I wouldn’t say that it really gives you a full feathered look. It was easy to apply and after a couple of coats you are good to go. The effects do last all day, it is smudge-proof but not flake proof and I do like the small thin and precise brush. I did enjoy using this mascara and I would be int...

MAC Haul #6

SWATCH PICTURE ABOVE: COPPERTONE - RED BRICK - CHROME YELLOW - RULE I thought I would share with you a few things I purchased from MAC recently. I got three Eyeshadow Pans in Chrome Yellow , Rule and Red Brick , a 15 Pan Pro-Palette Insert and a Powder Blush in Coppertone . Lastly, I also received a free sample of the In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara . I didn’t buy too much and I mostly made the purchases to get the three eyeshadows, plus I wanted a more neutral blush shade because I only really have corals and pinks in my collection. I plan on purchasing more cosmetics soon as I have recently got into face primers.

L'ORÉAL Volume Million Lashes So Couture Mascara

I bought this mascara and while ago with the intentions of reviewing it, but I only wear mascara when I wear eyeshadow, which is not very often these days. It has taken me a while to get around to trying out this mascara. The packaging is made of purple and gold plastic and it has a sort of tapered oval shape. The brush is small and made of rubber. It has longer bristles towards the bottom and shorter bristles at the top. The formula is creamy and kind of thick, but it does feel lightweight on your lashes. You get 9.5ml of product in the tube and the shade is Noir/Black. You can buy it for £10.99 from places such as Boots (UK), Superdrug (UK) and Ulta (USA). It is supposed to give your lashes definition and volume without making them clumpy or feeling stiff. The couture brush should coat every lash without clumps and it has small soft bristles, which should reach each lash and evenly spread the mascara. There’s nothing special about the packaging it is just a nice masc...

Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Flared Mascara

I have had this mascara for a while now and I thought I would review it for you. I still have quite a few other mascaras to use up, so there will be more mascara reviews coming up. The packaging is a sort of rocket tube shape like the other Maybelline volum’ express mascaras. The tube is made of plastic and is a bright pink colour like the original falsies mascara. The writing and the wing designs are silver. The brush has a curved shape and is like a regular bristle brush. The formula is creamy but not too wet. You get 10.6ml of product in the tube and it sells for £8.99. You can get it from Boots (UK), Superdrug (UK) and Ulta (USA). This mascara is supposed to give you more volume and flare by winging out your lashes with its curler formula. It should give you corner to corner volume with it’s new spoon flare brush. This turned out to be a great mascara. I wasn’t that impressed with it when I first used it, but after it had been open a few days it worked a bit bette...
