Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Lipsticks

I tried these lipsticks a while ago and I did recently de-clutter them all (April). I thought I would still share the swatches with you for reference. I only de-cluttered them because I didn’t use them, not because I didn’t like them. You can purchase them for £9.99 each from Boots,...

Discontinued Products I Want Back!

Don’t you just hate it when a brand discontinues your favourite product? Well, I certainly do! I thought I would share with you the products I wish weren’t discontinued. I have re-used some of my old photos for the products, I apologise for the quality. Here are the ten discontinued products I could think of so far:-   Avril Lavigne Black Star Eau de Parfum This perfume was launched way back in 2009 and it is still one of my favourites to this day. I haven’t actually smelled anything like it. The notes are; Black Currant, Mango, Pear, Jasmine, Lotus, Hibiscus, Musk, Sandalwood, Vanille and Mexican Chocolate. It was discontinued a few years ago, I’m not exactly sure when. I remember last seeing it for sale around 2013-2015. I don’t know why it was discontinued because it was a stunning fragrance. I used up my last bottle around two years ago and I am so sad it is no longer available. You can still find old bottles of it on eBay but bottles are being advertised for £100.00...

Maybelline LASH Sensational Mascara

I have tried a lot of the Maybelline Volum’ Express mascaras over the years and I thought I would give their newest addition a go. I love the colour of the packaging, it almost looks rose gold. It also has my favourite type of brush, rubber bristles! The packaging is a sort of rocket tube shape, just like the other Maybelline volum’ express mascaras. The tube is made of plastic and is a metallic blush pink colour. The writing and band between the top and bottom of the tube is black. The brush has a curved shape and is a rubber bristle brush. The formula is creamy but not too wet. You get 9.5ml of product in the tube and the shade I have is Black. You can purchase it for £8.99 ($9.99) from Boots, Superdrug and Ulta. This mascara claims to give you a layered and multiplied look, whilst lengthening and volumising your lashes. It has a new liquid formula with a low wax count which should create very dark and defined black lashes. The brush is Maybelline’s first layer-reveal bru...

Glossybox #24 - January 2019

This is the first Glossybox of the year and it is the second one I have received since I re-subscribed in December 2018. AVANT SKINCARE DELUXE HYALURONIC ACID VIVIFYING FACE & EYE NIGHT CREAM This is the most expensive product from the box and it is an anti-ageing moisturiser that is supposed to be hydrating and rejuvenating. It is also supposed to be smoothing without adding shine to your skin and it should have a fresh scent. I have actually tested this and the first time I used it, my skin did look shiny and kind of feel greasy. The second time I used it, my skin still looked shiny and when I touched my skin I could tell there was something on it. I don’t think this means it doesn’t work, I think it just needs a little time to settle on the skin. I don’t know what it looks like if you apply make-up over the top. My skin is kind of oily in some place, mostly the t-zone and my cheeks, neck and nose can be quite dry. | 50ml - £98.00 | BATISTE RETHINK DRY SHAMPOO IN HY...

Haul: Recent Purchases #6

I thought I would share a haul with you today. I have made several purchases here and there since my last haul, but I thought I would share these items with you today and I purchased them all around the same time. First of all I purchased a few things from FeelUnique.com. I bought the Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder , Urban Decay De-Slick Complexion Primer , Maybelline Baby Skin Primer and Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipsticks in Believer and Heroine . I also received two skincare samples with this order and got my Platinum Member discount off all of the Urban Decay products. I also made a small Jeffree Star Cosmetics order on BeautyBay.com. I purchased two Velour Liquid Lipsticks in Anna Nicole and Leo and Reflective Make-Up Bag in Dark Blue . I also wanted the Pumpkin Pie liquid lipstick from JSC, but it was out of stock. I am also interested in the Flamethrower shade as well, but it is such a bright block orange shade and it kind of sca...

Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Flared Mascara

I have had this mascara for a while now and I thought I would review it for you. I still have quite a few other mascaras to use up, so there will be more mascara reviews coming up. The packaging is a sort of rocket tube shape like the other Maybelline volum’ express mascaras. The tube is made of plastic and is a bright pink colour like the original falsies mascara. The writing and the wing designs are silver. The brush has a curved shape and is like a regular bristle brush. The formula is creamy but not too wet. You get 10.6ml of product in the tube and it sells for £8.99. You can get it from Boots (UK), Superdrug (UK) and Ulta (USA). This mascara is supposed to give you more volume and flare by winging out your lashes with its curler formula. It should give you corner to corner volume with it’s new spoon flare brush. This turned out to be a great mascara. I wasn’t that impressed with it when I first used it, but after it had been open a few days it worked a bit bette...

The Mascara Diaries: 9 Reviews In 1

My first post of 2017 is kind of a mega one. I was looking back through some old blog files on my PC and came across a few mascara reviews I did, but never posted. Some of the mascaras are quite old now, but I thought I would group them all together and post them because I still think they are still relevant. Any discontinued products may be available on discount sites or a similar and suitable substitute may be found (ex. a lot of the Maybelline Volum’ Express mascaras perform quite similar). Maybelline One by One Volum’ Express Whenever Maybelline bring out a new Volum’ Express mascara I just have to buy it and this one was no exception. I tend to get them on the £2 off introductory offer. The tube is a sort of red/pink coral colour with fuchsia reflexes and it has an aqua/teal band between the applicator and tube, which is the same colour as the writing. On the back of the tube there is also the brush type diagram, but the tube and applicator come separate in the main p...
