Glossybox #23 - December 2018

It is not long now until New Year and as you can see from the title, I have reactivated my Glossybox subscription, AGAIN! My last box was September 2016. I got this box for £7.00 as there was a ‘first box’ discount offer and the postage was £3.25. I couldn’t get the Christmas ‘All That Glitters’ box, so I was sent this one instead. The sticker on the side of the box said this was the ‘Glossy V11 Dec 18’ box. The products I received are:- WET ONES BE FRESH WIPES I have seen these wipes before in supermarkets and they are just usual wet wipes. I suppose they come in handy, especially if you carry them in your bag. | 12 Wipes - £1.15 | LUNA BY LUNA TRANSLUCENT POWDER I’ve never heard of this brand before and I have only ever tried one translucent loose powder before and I didn’t see what the fuss was about. I will give this one a go though because it is white based and I think the last one I tried was more skin tone based in colour. | 5g - $22.00 | GARNIER ULTIMATE

Haul: Recent Purchases #6

I thought I would share a haul with you today. I have made several purchases here and there since my last haul, but I thought I would share these items with you today and I purchased them all around the same time. First of all I purchased a few things from FeelUnique.com. I bought the Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder , Urban Decay De-Slick Complexion Primer , Maybelline Baby Skin Primer and Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipsticks in Believer and Heroine . I also received two skincare samples with this order and got my Platinum Member discount off all of the Urban Decay products. I also made a small Jeffree Star Cosmetics order on BeautyBay.com. I purchased two Velour Liquid Lipsticks in Anna Nicole and Leo and Reflective Make-Up Bag in Dark Blue . I also wanted the Pumpkin Pie liquid lipstick from JSC, but it was out of stock. I am also interested in the Flamethrower shade as well, but it is such a bright block orange shade and it kind of sca

Too Faced Gingerbread Spice Palette

This palette has been released as part of the Too Faced Holiday 2018 Collection, which is limited edition. As soon as I saw the press release photos for this palette, I knew I had to have it. The packaging is the usual tin material that the Chocolate Bar Palettes are made of. It is warm brown colour and has raised gingerbread men graphics on it. It has the usual metallic opening/closing and it also contains a small mirror. I purchased mine for £39.00 from CultBeauty.co.uk. It is also available on TooFaced.com and in Sephora stores in the USA. You get eighteen 0.70g eyeshadows in a variety of finishes; Matte (M), Metallic (ME), Satin (S) and Glitter (G). POWDERED SUGAR - pale beige (M) SPIKED EGGNOG - bright light gold (ME) GUMDROP - rich fuchsia pink (S) GINGERBREAD - medium brown with orange undertone (M) WARM & TOASTY - molten gold (ME) OOO BURN! - medium plum purple (ME) FROSTBITE ME! - pale off-white (G) LOOKIE AT MY COOKIE - pink cora

Serial Sampler #15

I have previously owned the original Lovestruck fragrance and I thought I would test this one because purple is my favourite colour and I love the bottle design. It is Lovestruck Floral Rush by Vera Wang and it is a 1.2ml spritzer sample of the eau de parfum. “Sparkling. Captivating. Unforgettable. A floral bouquet blooming with instant attraction”. It contains a mixture notes such as; Champagne, Pink Pepper, Freesia, Marigold, Ambergris and Musk. The champagne note is quite strong and it is definitely more floral than the original Lovestruck scent. The pink pepper note is also detectable and it gives you that spicy kind of scent. I don’t think it smells as fresh as the original but it is very nice. I think I prefer the original, but this version is more mature. I’m not sure if I want to purchase a full size bottle though! You can buy it in 30ml (£40), 50ml (£55) and 100ml (£70) and it is available at places such as; AllBeauty.com and Sephora.

Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Flared Mascara

I have had this mascara for a while now and I thought I would review it for you. I still have quite a few other mascaras to use up, so there will be more mascara reviews coming up. The packaging is a sort of rocket tube shape like the other Maybelline volum’ express mascaras. The tube is made of plastic and is a bright pink colour like the original falsies mascara. The writing and the wing designs are silver. The brush has a curved shape and is like a regular bristle brush. The formula is creamy but not too wet. You get 10.6ml of product in the tube and it sells for £8.99. You can get it from Boots (UK), Superdrug (UK) and Ulta (USA). This mascara is supposed to give you more volume and flare by winging out your lashes with its curler formula. It should give you corner to corner volume with it’s new spoon flare brush. This turned out to be a great mascara. I wasn’t that impressed with it when I first used it, but after it had been open a few days it worked a bit bette

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Blood Sugar Palette

This palette was released back in February and I told myself that I wasn’t allowed to purchase it. I allowed myself to buy a liquid lipstick from the Valentine’s Collection, but not this palette. I have now given in because it does look stunning and I am now into red, orange and pink eyeshadows. I just could not pass up the opportunity to purchase it this time because it does sell out all of the time on BeautyBay.com! The shade Candy Floss in my palette was slightly imperfect when it arrived. It looked like the pressed eyeshadow was slipping out of the pan. BeautyBay offered me a 15% refund on it and I manged to press the eyeshadow back into its pan. It just doesn’t look as uniform as the other shades, but the quality should be unaffected. The packaging of the palette is quite large, which is what initially put me off purchasing it. It is rectangular in shape and made out of red faux leather. It mimics a Doctor’s medical bag/case. It also looks like a video tape when it is

Urban Decay Naked Palette DISCONTINUED!

Photo Source: http://www.mrs-kim.com/ I’m sure we all heard the sad news yesterday that Urban Decay have sadly decided to discontinue their original Naked Palette! I was quite shocked to hear it because it is a very popular and famous neutral palette and I remember really wanting it when it was first released, but it was a while before I actually purchased it. Apparently it has been around for 8 years now already and they have extended the Naked range vastly since then. I actually only own the Naked Heat and the Naked Heat Petite Palettes from the range now. I used to have the original Naked, Naked 2, Naked 3, Naked Smoky and Naked Basics 2, but I got rid of them all because I wasn’t really using them and I had so many other palettes that give you a similar if not the same look. I am really tempted to re-purchase the original again because it is being discontinued, but I think I will leave it. I have so many other palettes to play with and Urban Decay is already on

Haul: Recent Purchases #5

I have been rather naughty lately and bought quite a few new cosmetics and I can’t wait to test them all out! I got the most stuff from FeelUnqiue.com and the products are from a couple of separate orders. I got the Benefit Boiing Brightening Concealer in No 1 , Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil in No 3 and a sample/mini of the brand new Benefit Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation in No 1 . Also, because I bought two Benefit products on one of my orders, I got a free large Benefit Tote Bag . I also re-purchased a Rimmel Brow This Way in 004 Clear and got the new Urban Decay Beached Palette and a brush works Combination Tweezer Set . I am a Platinum Member on FeelUnique.com, so I get 10% off any product from my favourite brand. I chose Urban Decay as my favourite brand over a year ago, so I get 10% off anything I order from them. I also made my first Superdrug.com order in a couple of years! I was interested in a couple of palettes and I actually got one of them for free be

MAC X Aaliyah Haughton Age Ain't Nothing Palette

Today I have a review of the new MAC x Aaliyah Haughton Age Ain't Nothing Palette. For those of you who do not know, Aaliyah Haughton was an American singer, actress and model that tragically died in 2001 at age 22. She was a really successful and famous R&B singer at the time of her death. I remember hearing of her name, but I don’t think I had ever heard her music. I was 8 years old the year of her death, which may explain why I hadn’t really heard of her. I purchased this palette for £26.00 directly from MACcosmetics.co.uk. It is a limited edition product, but it is still available to purchase as of today. The packaging is made out of shiny plastic and it was specially designed in a metallic burgundy colour and it has Aaliyah’s signature printed in silver on the front. The packaging is a lot like their other nine shade palettes, apart from you can’t see the eyeshadows from the front, due to the signature design. It has a magnetic opening and the eyeshadows are l

Birchbox #7 - July 2018

I have another Birchbox to share with you. I really like the watercolour design of this box. Here is what I received:- MANNA KADAR LONG-WEAR POWDER IN PARADISE | 3g - RRP £15.00 | There was a choice of two shades and I chose the shade Paradise, which is a very shimmery sort of cherry blossom pink shade. It is a blush which can also be used as an eyeshadow or highlighter. I chose the brightest one because I thought I might be able to use it in my crease, but I didn’t realise it would be shimmery or quite as bright as it is. I will hopefully figure out a way to use it on my eye, I most likely wouldn’t use it on my cheeks because of the shimmer and to be honest, the colour scares me a little! EYEKO FAT EYE STICK IN SATIN | 4g - RRP £12.00 | It is like a cool toned taupe shade and it is quite smooth to apply. It is not really a product that appeals to me. I have used various chubby eye sticks in the past and I just prefer potted cream eyeshadows. WHAT’S IN IT FOR M

My Eye Primers: The Verdict!

It has taken me a long time to put this altogether, but I have finally done it! I decided I wanted to share my thoughts on eye primers I had tried and it turned out that I had ten, so I thought I would test them and find out which one worked best for me. I have split them into two categories (High End/Low End) and I aim to rank them from #1 to #10 on which is the longest wearing. Let’s look at the primers I will be testing. HIGH END URBAN DECAY PRIMER POTION PRICE: £17.50 SIZE: 10ml SHADES: Original, Anti-ageing, Freebase, Eden, Fix, Minor Sin, Sin and Caffeine APPLICATION: Squeeze tube without a nozzle, but also has a sponge stick applicator PROMISES: Non-creasing, gives you vibrant eyeshadows WHERE TO BUY: UrbanDecay.co.uk (UK) & Sephora (USA) I like to think that this primer is my favourite as I love the packaging (purple is my favourite colour). It is potion bottle inspired and it is the first primer I remember ever seeing and wanting. The packa
