Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics Palette

I have finally given in and decided to get this palette. The first one never really interested me, so it was a surprise that this one did.
The palette itself is tiny and made of a frosted nude brown plastic material. The logo and product name is shown on the front and is in a slightly raised font. When you open it up, there is a small mirror one side and the eyeshadows on the other side.
The eyeshadows are 1.3g and all shades are taupe hued and complement each other. The idea is that all six shades are matte, but the first (lightest) shade from the Naked Basics was slightly shimmery. The first shade from this palette, Skimp, also has a little shimmer to it, but it is not extremely noticeable.
SKIMP - Pale nude satin
STARK - Matte nude pink
FRISK - Warm matte grey
COVER - Muted matte reddish brown
PRIMAL - Muted matte brown
UNDONE - Deep smoky matte brown

This palette doesn’t include any extras like most UD palettes do, but it is supposed to be basic, but beautiful.

I really love this little palette. It has all the shades you need for a simple neutral look, which can be amped up! The shades are so soft, buttery and amazingly pigmented. I would say they are much more pigmented than the matte shades in any other Urban Decay palette. I wonder if this is because it is supposed to be just a mattes palette? I am still glad I didn’t purchase the first one because the shades just didn’t appeal to me, but this one is absolutely perfect!!

Haul: Small Unmentioned Purchases

For today’s post I am going to share with you a few products that I have recently purchased and have not mentioned. I actually purchased one of the products last year but I thought I would include it anyway because I have not mentioned it before. The product I bought last year was from Asda and it is the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 HR Cream/Gel Eyeshadow in Pink Gold . I bought it for £4.99 and I got it because I thought it was limited edition but as it turned out it is actually permanent. It is a gorgeous colour! Now for the products I have bought recently this year. The Urban Decay Oz: The Great and Powerful Theodora Palette  for £35 from BeautyBay.com. I have used this palette a few times and I really like it. From Superdrug I picked up a Maybelline theROCKET Volum’Express Mascara  in the shade Black because I was interested in trying it and I got it for £5.99 because it had a £2 off offer. From Home Bargains I picked up another can of the TRESemmé Extra Hold...

KALEIDOS Futurism VI: Lunar Lavender Palette

This is my second KALEIDOS palette and I bought it from the same Depop seller as last time. I also purchased the Futurism I: Sci-Fi Green and Futurism VII: Sashimi City Palettes, reviews on those will be coming soon. THE PACKAGING The packaging is a long thin rectangle shape and the concept reminds me of a wardrobe. There is a purple, pink and rose gold coral (the reef kind) and cloud theme all over the packaging. It has a magnetic closing and you open up the left side first and then the right side to reveal the circular eyeshadow pans and long thin mirror inside. The outside theme continues to the inside, but the colours are lilac, pink, peach and orange with rose gold. The eyeshadow names come printed on a plastic sheet. THE EYESHADOWS & FORMULA You get six 1.33g eyeshadows/pressed pigments in Matte (M), Duo-Chrome (DC) and Shimmer (S) finishes.   ·          Rich and Velvety Texture ·          Smo...

Oden's Eye Solmåne Eyeshadow Palette

I first heard of this indie brand through watching Angelika Oles’ beauty channel on YouTube. Oden’s Eye is a Swedish indie brand and they make Norse mythology themed products. This is one of two eyeshadow palettes I decided to purchase; I also picked up the two matching highlighter palettes.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is small and rectangular in shape. It is made out of cardboard and it has a sort of textured covering (like on pogs). The design and imagery is so unique to the brand. Solmåne means the sun and moon in Swedish. Sol represents the Sun Goddess and Måne represents the Moon God. Both Gods are represented on the packaging. There is a colour split of warm and cool toned shades (lavender, pink, orange & yellow) along with moon, star and Norse symbols. The wheel around the Gods is metallic gold, so it really reflects the light when you move the palette around. The eyeshadow shade names are printed on the back of the palette. The palette has a magnetic closing/opening, ...
