Dior Addict IT-LASH Mascara

Back in May 2014, I received a birthday voucher through e-mail from FeelUnique.com. It was a gift from the website, as I am a loyal customer and it was my birthday. I searched the site and nothing took my fancy, until I saw this mascara! It is quite expensive and I thought it would be worth using the voucher for something I wouldn’t purchase for full price.

The tube packaging of this mascara is beautiful! It is made of black plastic and it has that distinctive Dior block design with the little silver nib (like the lipglosses). On the back of the tube, the brand name Dior has been stamped into the tune. On the front of the tube, the mascara name has been printed it silver lettering. To open the tube, your twist the little nib and pull and this reveals a small rubberised brush. The brush is barrel shaped with small spiky bristles. Dior calls it their elastomer brush because it is soft and should reach all your lashes, even the tiniest ones! The formula feels rich and creamy and looks pitch black! It comprises of a thickening wax and a clear gel base, to give your lashes a rich block colour look. You get 9ml of product in the tube and the shade I have is IT-BLACK (it also comes in purple, blue & pink).
This mascara is supposed to give your lashes amazing and instant volume and length. It should be very easy to apply and the effects should hold all day. Also, at the end of the night, it should be very easy to remove.

I love this mascara! It has my preferred flexi rubber type brush wand, which makes it very easy to apply to your top and bottom lashes. The formula dries really fast and it is not clumpy, which means it gives your lashes the instant effect and it holds all day. It is slightly lengthening and very voluminous. Taking it off is not a hassle, but I wouldn’t say it is noticeably easier to remove then previous mascaras I’ve tried. Overall this is a wonderful mascara and I love it, but you can definitely find less expensive alternatives that will give you a similar, if not the same effect.

Violet Voss X Laura Lee Palette

After being blown away by the Holy Grail Palette, I just couldn’t pass on this one! The shade selection doesn’t appeal to me as much, but I know the quality will be there. Also, this palette is limited edition so I wouldn’t recommend hesitating if you are interested in it. I believe this palette is a collaboration with a YouTuber called Laura Lee. I don’t know anything about Laura, but from what I gather she makes beauty videos. The palette design is similar to the Holy Grail Palette but the colour scheme is different, but it still has the holographic effect on the packaging. It has a rectangular shape to it and it is slightly bulky and has a little weight to it. It has a magnetic closing and when you lift the lid it reveals the eyeshadow pans and a mirror. The packaging colour scheme is black and silver. You get twenty 36g eyeshadows in a variety of shades and finishes. Serial Sampler #42

I have wanted to try this fragrance for a very long time and I have seen the advertisements with Charlize Theron countless times over the years. For some reason, I just didn’t look for it to test so I thought it was about time I did. I decided to purchase a sample online.   It is J’adore by Christian Dior and it is a 1ml spritzer sample of the eau de parfum.   “ J’adore’s original composition is a sophisticated harmony blossoming from Comoro Islands Ylang-Ylang and Damascus Rose Essences and Jasmine Sambac Absolute. ” Launched: 1999   Type: Floral Fruity / Feminine Notes Top: Pear, Melon, Magnolia, Peach, Mandarin Orange and Bergamot. Middle: Jasmine, Lily-Of-The-Valley, Tuberose, Freesia, Rose, Orchid, Plum and Violet. Base: Musk, Vanilla, Blackberry and Cedar. My assumption before testing this fragrance is that it would smell like an old classic (old lady) floral. It is very floral, but you do get the hit of the fresh fruity notes. I can mostly detect the Magnoli...

Becca's Babble's #4: My Current Favourite Songs

Photo: TheDJ.co.uk I thought I would post about something different today, something not beauty related. I have found myself listening to more music lately, seeing as though I have more time on my hands whilst the UK is on a sort of lockdown and I cannot go to work. By listening to more music, I mean more of the songs I have downloaded. I don’t really get to hear much new music as I do not listen to the radio or watch music channels on the TV. I am also kind of old school with music. I actually download the songs onto my PC instead of using a music streaming service. I just personally find it easier; I can then copy the songs to my phone. Streaming sites tend to delete their content after a while, but if you have the songs downloaded, you can never lose them until you delete them. I do subscribe to Amazon Music for my Echo Dot though, but I do find it incredibly frustrating when Alexa doesn’t understand what I want her to play, even though I am saying it in plain English!! Anyway...
