e.l.f Studio Cream Eyeliners

A while back I decided I wanted to try a different type of eyeliner because liquid wasn’t working so well for me, so I decided to look into cream/gel eyeliners. I had heard about the e.l.f one before and decided I would give it ago, plus I was already into e.l.f products and I had never experienced anything negative from the brand.
I’ve tried four shades and they are Black, which is a dark charcoal black, Coffee, which is a matte medium toned coffee brown and Punk Purple, which is a metallic deep royal. I had to throw all three away for reasons I will explain.
The packaging is a cube shaped clear plastic container with a black plastic lid. You have to twist the lid to get it off and it is mean’t to be air tight. You also get a free small angled eyeliner brush with each shade. The formula is dryer than gel eyeliners because it is cream based and the formula is not really glossy looking. You get 4.7g of product in each container.

This product is mean’t to give you smooth, defined and precise lines and it is mean’t to be smudge-proof, budge-proof and water resistant, as well as combating against sweat, tears and rain.

When you first use it, the product is brilliant. It is creamy, smooth, defining and precise and has great pigmentation. The downside is that it doesn’t take long for the product to dry out and shrink. One day the container is full and then it is barely there. I only used mine a couple of times before that happened. Even when it was at it’s best, I still wouldn’t say it was completely smudge-proof, budge-proof and water resistant. Also, the purple shade arrived cracked so the whole thing fell out as a dry purple lump! The brush that is included is ok, but it is very small if you are not used to doing your eyeliner with a brush, especially an angled brush.

Overall, it starts out as a perfect cream eyeliner and then gradually disappears, literally! The shade selection is brilliant, but my experiences with all three of mine have put me off completely.

Oden's Eye Solmåne Eyeshadow Palette

I first heard of this indie brand through watching Angelika Oles’ beauty channel on YouTube. Oden’s Eye is a Swedish indie brand and they make Norse mythology themed products. This is one of two eyeshadow palettes I decided to purchase; I also picked up the two matching highlighter palettes.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is small and rectangular in shape. It is made out of cardboard and it has a sort of textured covering (like on pogs). The design and imagery is so unique to the brand. Solmåne means the sun and moon in Swedish. Sol represents the Sun Goddess and Måne represents the Moon God. Both Gods are represented on the packaging. There is a colour split of warm and cool toned shades (lavender, pink, orange & yellow) along with moon, star and Norse symbols. The wheel around the Gods is metallic gold, so it really reflects the light when you move the palette around. The eyeshadow shade names are printed on the back of the palette. The palette has a magnetic closing/opening, ...

Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Palette

I first saw a preview of this palette in early August on the Trendmood Instagram page. I just knew I had to have it. I also own and love the Gingerbread Spice and Gingerbread Extra Spicy Palettes by Too Faced. These are the only types of holiday palettes that actually interest me from Too Faced. All of their other holiday palettes tend to be gimmicky (but pretty looking) and not good quality. THE PACKAGING The packaging is a rounded rectangular shaped tin in a beautiful pumpkin orange colour. The design on the front kind of looks like spread on a cracker. The name of the palette is printed in two different raised fonts. It has a magnetic closing, which you lift up to reveal the inside of the palette. The little rectangular eyeshadow pans are arranged across a metallic gold base, with the shade names printed in a small black font above each pan. There is also a mirror on the underside of the lid of the palette. THE EYESHADOWS & FORMULA You get eighteen 0.70g eyeshadows in Matte (M),...

Anastasia Beverly Hills X Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit

This palette became a cult favourite in the beauty sphere when it was first released as a limited edition product in collaboration with Nicole Guerriero (Beauty Influencer on YouTube), and there have been many calls to bring it back. In 2020, Anastasia Beverly Hills finally listened after three long years! I only actually heard about this palette after it had completely sold out and was no longer available. I must have been living under a rock at some point during 2017, because I completely missed this product! I am glad I finally got the chance to get my hands on this palette and I have heard nothing but raving reviews. There are six metallic highlighter shades, which should be highly luminous. They have a refined formula that should deliver buildable coverage with a smooth finish. The shades were created to flatter all skin tones and they can be applied anywhere on the face, eyes, lips and body. The palette is cruelty-free and vegan. You can purchase the palette for £42.00 (...
