Escada Collector's Edition Gift Set

I’ve always been interested in trying Escada fragrances, but there are so many to choose from and I didn’t want to risk buying a full size bottle. I came across this little gift set whilst I was shopping online at Boots and clicked buy straight away! All four fragrances are in a tiny, but cute 4ml potion looking bottle. Here are the four scents you get to try:-

TURQUOISE SUMMER
This bottle is a turquoise/clear theme and contains the notes; pineapple, strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant, peach, violet, orange blossom, vanilla, sandalwood and musk. It smells really strong of orange blossom and kind of like a car air freshener. It does linger quite a while on the skin, but it is not really a strong scent. Overall I don’t like this scent. It doesn’t really smell of anything to me and what you can smell isn’t what I would call pleasant. I give this perfume 1/5.

BORN IN PARADISE
This bottle’s theme is the same as Turquoise Summer and contains the notes; green apple, watermelon, guava, coconut milk, pineapple, sandalwood, cedar and musk. It smells like sparkling vanilla. It is a soft scent, but it will linger for a while on your skin. It is a nice scent and you can actually smell the notes (vanilla & coconut), but I wouldn’t go out and buy a full bottle of it! I rate this scent 3/5.
CHERRY IN THE AIR
This bottle is pink/clear themed and has the following notes; sour cherry, raspberry, mandarin, marshmallow, gardenia, orchid, vanilla, sandalwood, oak, musk and white suede. It smells amazing! You can really detect that sour cherry and the other notes really compliment it. It is quite a strong scent, so it will last ages on your skin. I really love this scent and there is a possibly that I will buy a full bottle of it very soon! I give this delicious smelling scent a 5/5!

TAJ SUNSET
This bottle is orange/yellow themed with mango, nectarine, blood orange, lotus, water lily, raspberry, star apple, musk, sandalwood and coconut as it’s notes. It smells strongly of mango and sandalwood. As it is a strong scent, it will last and linger on your skin. It does smell nice, but I find it too much. I think there’s an orange fruit overload and I personally don’t think woody notes complement those sorts of fruits! It smells ok, but I wouldn’t buy a full bottle. I rate it 4/5.

Overall I have enjoyed testing these little scent potions. My favourite has to be Cherry In The Air, it smells absolutely amazing and so far I have managed to refrain from buying a full size bottle of it. The scent I least liked was Turquoise Summer, which I am quite disappointed by. All the notes scream out to me, but it just doesn’t smell like any of them!

My Eye Primers: The Verdict!

It has taken me a long time to put this altogether, but I have finally done it! I decided I wanted to share my thoughts on eye primers I had tried and it turned out that I had ten, so I thought I would test them and find out which one worked best for me. I have split them into two categories (High End/Low End) and I aim to rank them from #1 to #10 on which is the longest wearing. Let’s look at the primers I will be testing. HIGH END URBAN DECAY PRIMER POTION PRICE: £17.50 SIZE: 10ml SHADES: Original, Anti-ageing, Freebase, Eden, Fix, Minor Sin, Sin and Caffeine APPLICATION: Squeeze tube without a nozzle, but also has a sponge stick applicator PROMISES: Non-creasing, gives you vibrant eyeshadows WHERE TO BUY: UrbanDecay.co.uk (UK) & Sephora (USA) I like to think that this primer is my favourite as I love the packaging (purple is my favourite colour). It is potion bottle inspired and it is the first primer I remember ever seeing and wanting. The packa...

Perfume Power! - Next 'Paradise'

I first smelt this perfume after receiving it in a mini gift set about ten years ago and I have loved it ever since. This 100ml size is my first bottle of it though, other than the tester/sample size. The bottle is quite tall and it is a sort of clutch bag shape if you turn it on its side. The bottle is a simple design and you can easily see how much perfume you have. On mine the spray pump sometimes gets stuck in the band around the neck of the bottle, but the problem is easily solved. I can’t find a specific note list anywhere for this perfume, but on Next’s site it is described as, "a light fruity fragrance with white florals and green notes". To me it smells really fruity and fresh. It is also multifunctional because it is quite strong and sexy, so perfect for a night out, but it is also not too overpowering and smells fresh and fruity enough for day time wear. It is actually an eau de toilette, which means that it is less concentrated, but I find that it is st...

Oden's Eye Solmåne Eyeshadow Palette

I first heard of this indie brand through watching Angelika Oles’ beauty channel on YouTube. Oden’s Eye is a Swedish indie brand and they make Norse mythology themed products. This is one of two eyeshadow palettes I decided to purchase; I also picked up the two matching highlighter palettes.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is small and rectangular in shape. It is made out of cardboard and it has a sort of textured covering (like on pogs). The design and imagery is so unique to the brand. Solmåne means the sun and moon in Swedish. Sol represents the Sun Goddess and Måne represents the Moon God. Both Gods are represented on the packaging. There is a colour split of warm and cool toned shades (lavender, pink, orange & yellow) along with moon, star and Norse symbols. The wheel around the Gods is metallic gold, so it really reflects the light when you move the palette around. The eyeshadow shade names are printed on the back of the palette. The palette has a magnetic closing/opening, ...
