Urban Decay Ammo 2 Palette

This palette has been around for years and I didn’t really have any interest in it, until they re-vamped and re-launched it! The newest version has already been around for a few years and I still told myself NO, but this year I finally caved in and bought it.
The design of this palette is very small and compact, but it does have some weight to it. It is made of a hard cardboard type material and it is a slightly gunmetal silver shade with purple detailing. It has a magnetic closure and when you open it, a small mirror is revealed. Inside the palette there are ten mini eyeshadows and a small eyeshadow brush. Separate to the palette, but included in the set is a mini primer potion.
The ten mini eyeshadows are 0.8g and are of the amazing quality Urban Decay is renowned for. They are velvety soft, pigmented and blend really well. There is also a good shade selection in this palette and the brighter shades are not too out there, so the selection is perfect for the safe neutral lover like me.
Smog - deep copper w/bronze shimmer
Mildew - mossy green shimmer w/golden undertones
Oil Slick - deep matte black w/silver glitter
Last Call - metallic plum purple
Chopper - copper shimmer w/silver glitter
Maui Wowie - metallic golden beige w/silver glitter
Shattered - turquoise shimmer w/gold shift
Polyester Bride - snow white shimmer w/silver glitter
Grifter - sheer lavender shimmer w/silver glitter
Sin - champagne shimmer

The brush you get is a mini Good Karma Eyeshadow Brush, which is very flat and dense and enables you to pack eyeshadow onto your lids. I have several sizes of this brush from other UD palettes and I love them! You get a mini travel size (3.7ml) of Primer Potion in the original shade. This is a great primer and the packaging is lovely.

I really like this palette. It has the perfect balance of shades for me and I like that they are not full sized. The brush is great, but I do prefer a fluffier brush to apply eyeshadow on my lids. I love the primer! Overall a good buy and a way to try more UD eyeshadow shades.

BY BEAUTY BAY New Romantic Palette

I first saw the tease post of this palette on Beauty Bay’s Instagram page on 29 th January and it was a black and white photo, so you couldn’t see the colour story but some of the shades names were a little bit of a giveaway to some possible shades (Raspberry, Flamingo and Khaki etc). On the 31 st January, they posted another tease photo of the shade Queen and this really when the colour story was confirmed. The full reveal post was on 1 st February, the same day as the palette launched. I bought it on launch day; I half expected it to already be sold out, but luckily for me it wasn’t. The formula of the eyeshadows looked like in the NikkieTutorials Palette, which I hoped the shimmers would be as they are stunning. Beauty Bay also had two other palettes that are the same sort of concept; Sunset Horizons and Book of Magic (discontinued). I decided not to purchase these two as I wasn’t completely sold on the colour stories for the usage I would personally get out of them, but they did...
