Glossybox #21 - February 2016

I always look forward to the themed Glossyboxes and this box just looks lovely. I love the colours and the little love design on the lid (better than last February’s box!). Inside the tissue paper is the same hot pink colour as the base of the box and the tissue confetti is white.
Here is what I got in my Valentine’s Day themed Glossybox for February:-
Nicka K New York 24H Waterproof Eyeliner in Dark Brown
0.3g - £3.99
This is a nice product. I like the colour and it could also be used for your brows because it is so soft and the tip is quite fine. It definitely doesn’t stay on for twenty-four hours. It is slightly water resistant, but not waterproof. It doesn’t compare to the Urban Decay ones.

MUA Power Pout Glaze Low Voltage Gloss in Rapture
3.2ml - £3.50
This looks like a chubby lipstick at first and when you take the cap off, it reveal the wide, flat lip brush applicator. They could have definitely got away with a slightly smaller applicator. You twist the bottom up to dispense the product. It smells of vanilla and is very glossy looking. It is also rather sticky! The shade is a neutral brown rose and does look nice on the lips. I wouldn’t use it again though because I hate lipgloss!

The Vintage Cosmetic Company Floral Slanted Tweezers
1 tweezer - £8.00
There is quite a lot of wasted packaging for this product. The item itself is not too interesting just some florally looking tweezers. They work ok, nothing special and I definitely wouldn’t pay full price for them. I’ve got e.l.f tweezers that are just as good for a fraction of the price of these.

NAOBAY Protective Hair Mask Volume Conditioner
200ml - £10.64
This product does smell really nice, but I’m just not into hair products. I will see if my Mum fancies giving this a go.

Wilkinson Sword Intuition Razor
1 razor - £6.99
This is quite a large product and it’s pink (goes with the love theme I guess). It is an interesting concept because it has soap cartridge attached to the blade, so you don’t need to use separate shaving creams/gels. I am yet to try this out, but it is something that does seem quite interesting to me. For the size, it is almost weightless!
Overall this was a great box and I am looking forward to next month’s box, mostly because I used my Glossydots to buy it!

What are your thoughts on this box?

BY BEAUTY BAY New Romantic Palette

I first saw the tease post of this palette on Beauty Bay’s Instagram page on 29 th January and it was a black and white photo, so you couldn’t see the colour story but some of the shades names were a little bit of a giveaway to some possible shades (Raspberry, Flamingo and Khaki etc). On the 31 st January, they posted another tease photo of the shade Queen and this really when the colour story was confirmed. The full reveal post was on 1 st February, the same day as the palette launched. I bought it on launch day; I half expected it to already be sold out, but luckily for me it wasn’t. The formula of the eyeshadows looked like in the NikkieTutorials Palette, which I hoped the shimmers would be as they are stunning. Beauty Bay also had two other palettes that are the same sort of concept; Sunset Horizons and Book of Magic (discontinued). I decided not to purchase these two as I wasn’t completely sold on the colour stories for the usage I would personally get out of them, but they did...

Serial Sampler #11

Today I have a mini mascara to share with you. It is In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash by MAC and it is a 1g sample of the full size mascara. It is supposed to give your lashes extreme volume, a deep black colour and give them a slight curl. I didn’t reckon much to this mascara at all! It coated my lashes in black pigment, separated them, made them look defined and gave them a slight curl, but no volume! I don’t know if the formula just doesn’t like my lashes or whether the brush is different. The brush kind of looks different to the full sized tube from photos I have seen, but I don’t know why they wouldn’t use the same brush for the sample because the brush makes the formula work. I’m guessing I would have to purchase the full size to find out, which I will not be doing. This was my first ever experience with MAC mascaras and it hasn’t put me off. You can buy the full sized tube for £19.50 and it is available for sale at MACcosmetics.co.uk and MAC stores. ♥...
