Glossybox #1 - December 2011

As you can tell I recently subscribed to the Glossybox. I actually thought I was getting the January 2012 box, but apparently I was too early for that and got sent the Limited Edition December 2011 box, which by the way I am happy with.
Glossybox are a website which you can subscribe to for £12.95 (UK) a month and receive a box containing 5 luxury samples of beauty products that may not be widely available in your country or maybe too expensive for you to even consider trying.
I received the Limited Edition December 2011 box, which is red instead of pink. And I got 5 items, and 2 were full sized. All of the products in the box are useful to me apart from the cream, but other than that, this box has definitely got me to stay subscribed to see what the January box has to offer.
1.    BLINK+Go Hi-Definition Mascara in Black (8g Full Size)
I haven’t tried this out yet but I am expecting good things. The beauty card, that comes with every glossybox says this mascara makes your lashes “Longer, thicker, sexier. Give your natural lashes a stunning flake – free, waterproof boost”.

Visit www.blinkandgo.co.uk and click on the Glossy Pod to receive 25% off any Blink+Go Eyeshadow and Blush Duo or Mascara when entering the code Glossy4 at the checkout. (Expires 31/01/2012)

2.    CARGO COSMETICS Classic Lipgloss in Serengeti (0.45g Sample Size)
I have tried this out and the colour is quite shear and the formula is not sticky and it is very shiny with small glitters. I quite like this product but it is not something I would personally buy, also there is not much product in the tube, as expected for sample size. The beauty card says “Cargo’s new Lip Gloss formulation! Perfect shades, great wear and high-shine without being sticky”.

3.    DEBORAH LIPPMANN Nail Varnish in Razzle Dazzle (Sample Size)
- And A sachet of The Stripper to Go Nail Varnish Remover Mitts (1 Mit)
I have tried this on one nail and although the colour is really pretty, you need quite a few coats on your nail, which is not so good! I haven’t tried out the mitt just yet! The beauty card says “Party glitter nail colour with a sachet of the most amazing polish remover finger nail mitt”.
Go to www.houseoffraser.co.uk/ and search Deborah Lippmann to view the full range.

4.    JURLIQUE Age Defying Ultra Firm and Lift Cream (5ml Sample Size)
I haven’t tried this yet and it is the only item from this box that I consider useless for me, because it is an anti-ageing cream and I am barely a legal adult. Nether-the-less I might just use it up. The beauty card says “A high-performance anti-ageing cream designed to help promote the regeneration of elastin, collagen and new skin cells.

Visit www.jurlique.co.uk to receive 15% off the range when entering the code GLOSSY15. (Expires 31/01/2012)

5.    RITUALS Foaming Shower Gel in Zensation (200ml Full Size)
I haven’t used this yet but I have smelt it and it smells amazing and I can’t wait to use it, and hey, it is full size! It is my favourite item from this box so far. The beauty card says “This unique foaming shower gel gently cleanses your skin and leaves it silky soft and smooth”.

Receive £5 off with any purchase over £25 with presentation of this barcode (beauty card) in any UK Rituals store. Not valid in department stores or online. Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer.1 Per Person. (Expires 29/02/2012)

e.l.f Earth & Ocean Palette

I haven’t purchased anything from e.l.f in the longest time. I happened upon a post of this palette on Instagram and the complimentary comments really peaked my interest in trying it for myself. Palettes I have tried from e.l.f. in the past haven’t been the greatest of quality; I kind of associate the brand as being for children, beginners or natural beauty wearers. I was also interested in the Retro Paradise Palette , but I thought I would get more use out of this one at the moment.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is quite simple with a clear/black outlined plastic rectangular shape. The fronting is transparent so that you can see the eyeshadows from the outside of the palette. It has a clip closing, which you push apart to reveal the inside. The square eyeshadow pans are spread out across a black base and the shade names are printed in grey font under each pan. THE EYESHADOWS & FORMULA You get eighteen 0.94g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Metallic (ME), Glitter (G), Satin (S) and Shi...

KALEIDOS Futurism II: Cyber Bronze Palette

I have seen these palettes before on YouTube, a few people I follow have featured them in palette collection videos. The colour stories always looked incredible, but I knew I probably wouldn’t get much use out of them as the colours are bright and you are limited to six shades. I had only really seen the Futurism III: Astro-Pink , Futurism I: Sci-Fi Green , Futurism IV: VR Neon and Futurism V: Electro-Turquoise ones before. When I made my first Kaleidos order, I didn’t bother looking at the palettes as I knew I wanted the highlighters and it was going to be pricey as it was. I was browsing through Depop on the day my order arrived and came across the Futurism II: Cyber Bronze Palette . I think the seller must have received her order the same day as me. I instantly fell in love with the colour story, but I pondered over whether to purchase it or not. At 3am the next morning (insomnia), I bit the bullet and made my purchase. It was brand new and untouched, I just couldn’t! THE P...

Violet Voss X Laura Lee Palette

After being blown away by the Holy Grail Palette, I just couldn’t pass on this one! The shade selection doesn’t appeal to me as much, but I know the quality will be there. Also, this palette is limited edition so I wouldn’t recommend hesitating if you are interested in it. I believe this palette is a collaboration with a YouTuber called Laura Lee. I don’t know anything about Laura, but from what I gather she makes beauty videos. The palette design is similar to the Holy Grail Palette but the colour scheme is different, but it still has the holographic effect on the packaging. It has a rectangular shape to it and it is slightly bulky and has a little weight to it. It has a magnetic closing and when you lift the lid it reveals the eyeshadow pans and a mirror. The packaging colour scheme is black and silver. You get twenty 36g eyeshadows in a variety of shades and finishes.
