Serial Sampler #39

I have another perfume sample to share today. Again, I can’t remember how long I have had this one, but I know I haven’t smelled it before. I always mean’t to test it sooner, but didn’t for reason, so now is the time!

It is Olympéa by Paco Rabanne and it is a 1.5ml spritzer sample of the eau de parfum.

The divine perfume with a fresh oriental signature; it’s sparkling green tangerine top notes reveal a unique salty vanilla accord. Then it’s addictive heart of captivating jasmine and ginger Lilly scents unveils a sensual ambergris and cashmere wood base

Launched: 2015

Type: Oriental Floral / Feminine

Notes
Top: Water Jasmine, Green Mandarin and Ginger Flower.
Middle: Vanilla and Salt.
Base: Cashmere Wood, Ambergris and Sandalwood.
I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this fragrance, I assumed it would smell like an ‘old lady’ floral but I was very wrong. It smells quite sensual and it is a perfect example of a deep oriental floral scent. I can really smell the Water Jasmine, Ambergris and Sandalwood notes. I really do like this scent and probably would wear it. It reminds me of the Lady Million (my favourite) fragrance, but deeper and more mature smelling. Some hints of it also remind me of the Mugler Alien Man Fusion fragrance. I would say it is more of an evening scent as it is strong in a deep way, but it is not too overpowering. I would also class it as unisex, but maybe bordering more on the masculine side. I do recommend that you give this one this whiff; I wouldn’t recommend blind buying it though as it will surprise you. I probably won’t buy a bottle as I already have two bottles of the Lady Million fragrance and I’m not sure if Olympéa is maybe too on the masculine side for my tastes, even though I do like it. I feel like I would like to smell it on a man more than on myself.

You can purchase the Paco Rabanne Olympéa Eau De Parfum in 30ml (£48.00), 50ml (£64.50) and 80ml (£82.50) from PacoRabanne.com.

Oden's Eye Solmåne Eyeshadow Palette

I first heard of this indie brand through watching Angelika Oles’ beauty channel on YouTube. Oden’s Eye is a Swedish indie brand and they make Norse mythology themed products. This is one of two eyeshadow palettes I decided to purchase; I also picked up the two matching highlighter palettes.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is small and rectangular in shape. It is made out of cardboard and it has a sort of textured covering (like on pogs). The design and imagery is so unique to the brand. Solmåne means the sun and moon in Swedish. Sol represents the Sun Goddess and Måne represents the Moon God. Both Gods are represented on the packaging. There is a colour split of warm and cool toned shades (lavender, pink, orange & yellow) along with moon, star and Norse symbols. The wheel around the Gods is metallic gold, so it really reflects the light when you move the palette around. The eyeshadow shade names are printed on the back of the palette. The palette has a magnetic closing/opening, ...

My Favourite TV Series

I have already shared with you some current favourite songs and my favourite films. I thought it was now time to mention my favourite TV series. Here are my top ten favourite TV series:-   Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003) This series is about a teenager who becomes the next vampire slayer. Only one slayer is born into every generation and one has to die for another to be activated. It is a kind of coming of age story and I love strong female characters. I also just loved the fight scenes. I was only four when this series first came out, so I did miss a few seasons at first. About five years ago, I did re-watch all seven seasons. I was sad it ended, but there are only so many monsters you can introduce and slay before it gets monotonous! It did watch the spin-off show Angel, but it didn’t have the same magic and feel to it for me.   Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999-) I am quite partial to a crime drama and it all started with CSI: Miami. I watched all of the Amer...

Review: Travalo Classic

I was sorting through some old pictures in my blog folder on my computer and I came across some Travalo pictures I took, and remembered I was mean’t to do a post about it. So better late than never, I am going to share with you how to use it and what I think. About the Travalo The Travalo is a small and handy perfume atomiser that allows you to decant a small amount of your favourite perfume into the tube and carry it with you, so you don’t have to carry around the bottle. It is made of strong, light aluminium and is 80mm in size and holds 4ml of liquid, which is approximately fifty sprays. It is also a “perfectly” rounded shape, which means there are no corners, so you don’t have to worry about it ripping your handbag, purse and pockets or scratching any furniture and surfaces. How to Use It If you want to decant some perfume to put in the Travalo you need to: 1. Take the spray cap off the perfume bottle 2. Get your Travalo and hold it upright over the spray s...
