Empties #2 - October 2012

I am going to try and do these posts monthly, but I don’t tend to use a lot of stuff up, apart from boring products, such as, deodorant and mouthwash. But I promise I will try!

T-Zone Clear Pore Anti-Bacterial Cleanser – 200ml

Since using this I haven’t really noticed a difference, apart from my forehead may look shiner as this has oil in it. I am already working my way through a second bottle, so I will be able to ‘monitor’ it! I am going to try a different cleanser though, when the second bottle has gone.

Tesco Baby Ultra Soft Fragranced Wipes (alcohol free) – 64 Wipes

I got these because they were on a 3 for 2 offer. I just used them to wipe my make-up off before I wash my face. I am currently working my way through the third packet.

Morrisons Large Oval Cotton Wool Pads (100% cotton) – 50 pads

I got these because of a 3 for £1 offer. This was my first packet and I am currently using the second. I use them in the morning with my face cleanser.

Maybelline Define-A-Lash Volume Mascara – 6.5ml

I bought the shade Very Black and I really enjoyed using this mascara. It is definitely one I would consider re-purchasing in the future.

Violet Voss X Laura Lee Palette

After being blown away by the Holy Grail Palette, I just couldn’t pass on this one! The shade selection doesn’t appeal to me as much, but I know the quality will be there. Also, this palette is limited edition so I wouldn’t recommend hesitating if you are interested in it. I believe this palette is a collaboration with a YouTuber called Laura Lee. I don’t know anything about Laura, but from what I gather she makes beauty videos. The palette design is similar to the Holy Grail Palette but the colour scheme is different, but it still has the holographic effect on the packaging. It has a rectangular shape to it and it is slightly bulky and has a little weight to it. It has a magnetic closing and when you lift the lid it reveals the eyeshadow pans and a mirror. The packaging colour scheme is black and silver. You get twenty 36g eyeshadows in a variety of shades and finishes. I have wanted to try this fragrance for a very long time and I have seen the advertisements with Charlize Theron countless times over the years. For some reason, I just didn’t look for it to test so I thought it was about time I did. I decided to purchase a sample online. It is J’adore by Christian Dior and it is a 1ml spritzer sample of the eau de parfum. “ J’adore’s original composition is a sophisticated harmony blossoming from Comoro Islands Ylang-Ylang and Damascus Rose Essences and Jasmine Sambac Absolute. ” Launched: 1999 Type: Floral Fruity / Feminine Notes Top: Pear, Melon, Magnolia, Peach, Mandarin Orange and Bergamot. Middle: Jasmine, Lily-Of-The-Valley, Tuberose, Freesia, Rose, Orchid, Plum and Violet. Base: Musk, Vanilla, Blackberry and Cedar. My assumption before testing this fragrance is that it would smell like an old classic (old lady) floral. It is very floral, but you do get the hit of the fresh fruity notes. Becca's Babble's #4: My Current Favourite Songs

Photo: TheDJ.co.uk I thought I would post about something different today, something not beauty related. I have found myself listening to more music lately, seeing as though I have more time on my hands whilst the UK is on a sort of lockdown and I cannot go to work. By listening to more music, I mean more of the songs I have downloaded. I don’t really get to hear much new music as I do not listen to the radio or watch music channels on the TV. I am also kind of old school with music. I actually download the songs onto my PC instead of using a music streaming service. I just personally find it easier; I can then copy the songs to my phone. Streaming sites tend to delete their content after a while, but if you have the songs downloaded, you can never lose them until you delete them. I do subscribe to Amazon Music for my Echo Dot though, but I do find it incredibly frustrating when Alexa doesn’t understand what I want her to play, even though I am saying it in plain English!! Anyway...
