I am reviewing some Jeffree Star Cosmetics products I recently picked up from BeautyBay.com. For those that don’t know, Jeffree Star is a Beauty YouTuber who has his own make-up brand. I have only recently become a fan and I can’t quite remember how! I like his make-up videos because they are honest and when he does tutorials it is like he is actually teaching you. I dislike the voiceover/quick cut edited tutorials most YouTubers create. He mostly uses really expensive high end products, but he is up front about it and it isn’t because he is snobby. I think he mentioned that he had some bad experiences with drugstore products when he first started out with make-up, so the higher end brands tended to be more quality made. As we all know, the quality of make-up has dramatically changed over the years, so he is gradually trying out more drugstore brands on his channel. I went a little crazy last weekend and purchased quite a bit from FeelUnique! I buy stuff from there all of the time, but I don’t usually buy this much in one go. I accidentally made my first ever NARS purchase. It popped up on the homepage and I just clicked it. It is the NARS NARSISSIST Unfiltered 2 Cheek Palette . It has six shades of pink toned shades for your cheeks and I am very excited to test them out. Plus the packaging is so sleek! I got two Urban Decay Eyeshadows in Mildew and Maui Wowie . I picked up three products from NYX; NYX High Definition Eyeshadow Base and two NYX Slide On Pencils in Purple Blaze and Tropical Green . I recently received this sample with an online beauty order and I have heard of this product before. It was the packaging that caught my attention most. It is Fresh Couture by MOSCHINO and it is a 1ml spritzer sample of the eau de toilette. It contains a mixture notes such as; Bergamot, Raspberry, Peony, Ylang-Ylang, Ambroxan and Patchouli. It is quite a strong scent for an EDT, but it is really nice and not overpowering. It smells similar to a scent I have tested before, but I can’t quite put my finger on it. It doesn’t strike me as being your traditional female scent, so it is probably universal. I would class it as a deep musky floral scent. Overall, the bottle design is very original, sadly the scent is not. I definitely won’t be buying a full sized bottle as it doesn’t give me the WOW factor. I have had this blush palette for a long time now, but I have only recently started to use it. I know it was released last year and I believe it was limited edition, but you can still find it for sale on the Too Faced website. The packaging is long, thin and sleek. It is made out of thick cardboard and rectangular shaped. It has a pretty heart design on the front and product information printed on the back. It has a magnetic closing and when you lift the lid it reveals a small narrow mirror and the product pans. You get six 2.0g blushes in heart shaped pans. I wanted to share with you what I recently purchased from e.l.f. I kind of wanted to buy a lot more, but the products just don’t excite me the way they used to. I recently decided to purchase this lipstick as it looked similar to Syrup, which is a shade I already own and love. It is very similar but there is a slight difference as well as Syrup being in a lustre finish. This perfume was also on my test list on Fragrantica and I bought it at the same time as Christina Aguilera ‘Woman’. I got the 30ml bottle in the eau de parfum. The bottle is made of glass and is a sort of rounded hourglass shape. It has pink velvet rose design part way down the bottom of the bottle and Christina’s name is printed in hot pink and the perfume name is also printed in hot pink at the top of the bottle. It has rose gold banding around the neck for the cap to sit on. The cap is clear plastic and kind of diamond shaped. It has a rose gold spritzer to dispense the scent. On the outer cardboard box it had this description; “Stirs inner passion like the velvety petals of a rose bouquet”. After being blown away by the Holy Grail Palette, I just couldn’t pass on this one! The shade selection doesn’t appeal to me as much, but I know the quality will be there. Also, this palette is limited edition so I wouldn’t recommend hesitating if you are interested in it. I believe this palette is a collaboration with a YouTuber called Laura Lee. I don’t know anything about Laura, but from what I gather she makes beauty videos. The palette design is similar to the Holy Grail Palette but the colour scheme is different, but it still has the holographic effect on the packaging. It has a rectangular shape to it and it is slightly bulky and has a little weight to it. It has a magnetic closing and when you lift the lid it reveals the eyeshadow pans and a mirror. The packaging colour scheme is black and silver. You get twenty 36g eyeshadows in a variety of shades and finishes. Today I have a mini mascara to share with you. It is Better Than Sex by Too Faced and it is a 4.8g sample of the full size black mascara. The brush has a rounded hourglass shape and your lashes will look perfect after one coat! This mascara is easy to apply and it curls (long lasting), volumises and adds length and separates your lashes. Your lashes will look thicker with the dark black colour of the formula. It is mostly smudge-proof, but if your eyes water it will transfer slightly. The good news is that this mascara is also available in a waterproof formula. I felt like baking on Saturday and I thought I would also share the recipe with you. I decided on carrot cake as it is my favourite and with it being Mother’s Day the day after, I thought making it as cupcakes would be a cute sweet treat for my Mum as well as pacifying my carrot cake craving! This isn’t really a traditional carrot cake recipe, but it is the one my Mum has always used and I don’t like fruits and nuts in cakes anyway.
