Collective Haul, Well, Kind Of!

Today I have kind of a “collective” haul for you, meaning just a few items I bought on separate days, really!

My hair straighteners were failing, and I wanted to get some new ones before they totally packed up so I went to Argos on the 20^th October and bought the Nicky Clarke Jewel Collection, which includes a 2000W hair dryer and ceramic hair straighteners. Luckily there was a discount offer on this set so I got it for half price at £29.99 instead of £59.99. Plus it was cheaper to buy the set than just hair straighteners from Nicky Clarke, because I got a new hair dryer, so I don’t have to worry about my current one failing, plus I wanted them because they are purple, which is my favourite colour and they match, unlike my other straighteners and dryer.

On the 22^nd October I went to Superdrug and bought yet another Barry M Nail Paint, this time I bought the NEW nail effects crackle polish in 321 Gold Glitter for £3.99 and I earned 3 points with this purchase.

And yesterday I went to Superdrug and bought the Collection 2000 Colour Match Foundation in 1 Ivory for £5.99 and four Impulse Body Sprays in True Love for £3.80, as they are on offer at the moment for 95p each. I also earned 9 points. I also dropped by Home Bargains and picked up two Schwarzkopf Country Colours hair dyes in 58 Grand Canyon for £3.98 (£1.99 each). I am hoping to have my hair cut and dyed tomorrow!

Empties #10 - August & September 2013

I have combined two month’s worth of empties again. At the end of August my box wasn’t that full, so I decided to carry on collecting and hope I use up more stuff. The majority of stuff I used up was necessities as usual, but there are some extra bits too. Here is what I managed to use up within two months:- Morrisons So Clear Dual Action Moisturiser | 100ml I have used another tube of this and have already re-purchased it. It works really well and doubles as a hand cream and most importantly, it is very inexpensive. Although I get it for around £2.99, I still wish it was cheaper. Oden's Eye Solmåne Eyeshadow Palette

I first heard of this indie brand through watching Angelika Oles’ beauty channel on YouTube. Oden’s Eye is a Swedish indie brand and they make Norse mythology themed products. This is one of two eyeshadow palettes I decided to purchase; I also picked up the two matching highlighter palettes. THE PACKAGING The packaging is small and rectangular in shape. It is made out of cardboard and it has a sort of textured covering (like on pogs). The design and imagery is so unique to the brand. Solmåne means the sun and moon in Swedish. Sol represents the Sun Goddess and Måne represents the Moon God. Both Gods are represented on the packaging. There is a colour split of warm and cool toned shades (lavender, pink, orange & yellow) along with moon, star and Norse symbols. The wheel around the Gods is metallic gold, so it really reflects the light when you move the palette around. The eyeshadow shade names are printed on the back of the palette. Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Palette

I first saw a preview of this palette in early August on the Trendmood Instagram page. I just knew I had to have it. I also own and love the Gingerbread Spice and Gingerbread Extra Spicy Palettes by Too Faced. These are the only types of holiday palettes that actually interest me from Too Faced. All of their other holiday palettes tend to be gimmicky (but pretty looking) and not good quality. THE PACKAGING The packaging is a rounded rectangular shaped tin in a beautiful pumpkin orange colour. The design on the front kind of looks like spread on a cracker. The name of the palette is printed in two different raised fonts. It has a magnetic closing, which you lift up to reveal the inside of the palette. The little rectangular eyeshadow pans are arranged across a metallic gold base, with the shade names printed in a small black font above each pan.
