My Little Box #1 - May 2015

This month’s box is Provence themed and I am a little excited about it too. I have also noticed that the majority of the products are from one brand. Here is what I got:-
L’Occitane Mer & Mistral Shower Gel
50ml - £12.00
This smells heavenly and a lot like a Noble Isle shower gel I had before. I do quite like receiving shower gel samples, just not every month.

L’Occitane Roses et Reines Hand & Nail Cream
10ml - £14.00
This is in such a cute tube and the rose scent is quite nice, but I’m not really into hand creams. There’s just something about them!

L’Occitane Verbena Body Lotion
30ml - £20.00
This smells amazing and the bottle is so cute, but I hate body lotions!

L’Occitane Verbena Leaf Soap
25g - £4.50
I love how the shape of the soap is a leaf and I am actually interested in trying it. You use it for your face and it is supposed to lightly exfoliate too. I hope it smells just as good as the body lotion.

My Little Beauty Crayon Épatant
1.5g - £9.00
This is a nice addition and a sort of chocolate brown shade. I’m not sure how I would use it, as it’s slightly too big for an eyeliner and it’s not my kind of shade for an all over eye base.

My Little Beauty The Sunny Cuff
Metal cuff & 2 threads - £15.00
This is an interesting addition too. It’s not something I am interested in, and the cuff doesn’t fit my wrist anyway. You get two colour threads, which you use to create a pattern through the holes on the cuff. I will be giving this to my Sister and it will keep her occupied too (she’s 18 lol)!
I love the theme for this box so much. You also got Provence inspired fashion magnets included. Anything Parisian themed is a winner for me. I wasn’t exactly sold on the products included in this box, but the design is perfect!

What are your thoughts on this box?

My Eye Primers: The Verdict!

It has taken me a long time to put this altogether, but I have finally done it! I decided I wanted to share my thoughts on eye primers I had tried and it turned out that I had ten, so I thought I would test them and find out which one worked best for me. I have split them into two categories (High End/Low End) and I aim to rank them from #1 to #10 on which is the longest wearing. Let’s look at the primers I will be testing. HIGH END URBAN DECAY PRIMER POTION PRICE: £17.50 SIZE: 10ml SHADES: Original, Anti-ageing, Freebase, Eden, Fix, Minor Sin, Sin and Caffeine APPLICATION: Squeeze tube without a nozzle, but also has a sponge stick applicator PROMISES: Non-creasing, gives you vibrant eyeshadows WHERE TO BUY: UrbanDecay.co.uk (UK) & Sephora (USA) I like to think that this primer is my favourite as I love the packaging (purple is my favourite colour). It is potion bottle inspired and it is the first primer I remember ever seeing and wanting. The packa...

Perfume Power! - Next 'Paradise'

I first smelt this perfume after receiving it in a mini gift set about ten years ago and I have loved it ever since. This 100ml size is my first bottle of it though, other than the tester/sample size. The bottle is quite tall and it is a sort of clutch bag shape if you turn it on its side. The bottle is a simple design and you can easily see how much perfume you have. On mine the spray pump sometimes gets stuck in the band around the neck of the bottle, but the problem is easily solved. I can’t find a specific note list anywhere for this perfume, but on Next’s site it is described as, "a light fruity fragrance with white florals and green notes". To me it smells really fruity and fresh. It is also multifunctional because it is quite strong and sexy, so perfect for a night out, but it is also not too overpowering and smells fresh and fruity enough for day time wear. It is actually an eau de toilette, which means that it is less concentrated, but I find that it is st...

Oden's Eye Solmåne Eyeshadow Palette

I first heard of this indie brand through watching Angelika Oles’ beauty channel on YouTube. Oden’s Eye is a Swedish indie brand and they make Norse mythology themed products. This is one of two eyeshadow palettes I decided to purchase; I also picked up the two matching highlighter palettes.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is small and rectangular in shape. It is made out of cardboard and it has a sort of textured covering (like on pogs). The design and imagery is so unique to the brand. Solmåne means the sun and moon in Swedish. Sol represents the Sun Goddess and Måne represents the Moon God. Both Gods are represented on the packaging. There is a colour split of warm and cool toned shades (lavender, pink, orange & yellow) along with moon, star and Norse symbols. The wheel around the Gods is metallic gold, so it really reflects the light when you move the palette around. The eyeshadow shade names are printed on the back of the palette. The palette has a magnetic closing/opening, ...
