Too Faced Gingerbread Spice Palette

This palette has been released as part of the Too Faced Holiday 2018 Collection, which is limited edition. As soon as I saw the press release photos for this palette, I knew I had to have it.
The packaging is the usual tin material that the Chocolate Bar Palettes are made of. It is warm brown colour and has raised gingerbread men graphics on it. It has the usual metallic opening/closing and it also contains a small mirror. I purchased mine for £39.00 from CultBeauty.co.uk. It is also available on TooFaced.com and in Sephora stores in the USA.
You get eighteen 0.70g eyeshadows in a variety of finishes; Matte (M), Metallic (ME), Satin (S) and Glitter (G).
POWDERED SUGAR - pale beige (M)
SPIKED EGGNOG - bright light gold (ME)
GUMDROP - rich fuchsia pink (S)
GINGERBREAD - medium brown with orange undertone (M)
WARM & TOASTY - molten gold (ME)
OOO BURN! - medium plum purple (ME)
FROSTBITE ME! - pale off-white (G)
LOOKIE AT MY COOKIE - pink coral (M)
SPICE IS NICE - rich warm orange (M)
OH SNAP! - dark coral (G)
BAKE IT ‘TIL YOU MAKE IT - dark rosy bronze (ME)
SPICE OF LIFE - warm golden olive bronze (ME)
SUGAR DADDY - soft pale pink (M)
FIGGY PUDDING - dark berry (M)
HOT TODDY - copper plum (ME)
REINDEER PAWS - deep plum (M)
GINGERBREAD LATTE - medium warm golden brown (M)
SPICED RUM - dark bronze (G)

You also get a How-o Glamour Guide, which is included with the majority of Too Faced palettes. This guide shows you how to complete three looks using the palette; Spice Is Nice, Warm & Toasty and Hottie Toddy.

The eyeshadows can be sheer to highly pigmented (buildable) and should have one-swipe payoff. They should have a creamy texture and be buttery smooth. The eyeshadows are made with 100% natural cocoa powder. This palette is scented and should smell of fresh-baked gingerbread. The palette is also cruelty free. It is not vegan as it contains Carmine.

The packaging for this palette is so cute and I love it. The shade selection is right up my street. They are extremely pigmented, smooth and blend softly. They are buildable and can be used wet or dry. The only shade that swatches shear is ‘Frostbite Me!’. The palette does have a warm spice smell, but I wouldn’t say that it is identifiably gingerbread, it has more of a vanilla scent. My favourite shades are; Gumdrop, Spice Is Nice and Hot Toddy. The shade range can be considered neutral, but there are a few pops of brighter shades. I really enjoy this palette and it is the first Too Faced palette that has caught my eye in a really long time. They tend to put out a lot of ‘new’ palettes around Christmas time, which I personally don’t think are up to their usual quality. It’s like they put them out for the sakes of it because they know people will buy them. I can’t wait to continue using this palette for the winter period and I hope their future releases are just as good!

Violet Voss X Laura Lee Palette

After being blown away by the Holy Grail Palette, I just couldn’t pass on this one! The shade selection doesn’t appeal to me as much, but I know the quality will be there. Also, this palette is limited edition so I wouldn’t recommend hesitating if you are interested in it. I believe this palette is a collaboration with a YouTuber called Laura Lee. I don’t know anything about Laura, but from what I gather she makes beauty videos. The palette design is similar to the Holy Grail Palette but the colour scheme is different, but it still has the holographic effect on the packaging. It has a rectangular shape to it and it is slightly bulky and has a little weight to it. It has a magnetic closing and when you lift the lid it reveals the eyeshadow pans and a mirror. The packaging colour scheme is black and silver. You get twenty 36g eyeshadows in a variety of shades and finishes. BASIC - matte creamy ivory SUGAH - champagne shimmer PRISS POT - matte peach MAMA BIR...

Serial Sampler #42

I have wanted to try this fragrance for a very long time and I have seen the advertisements with Charlize Theron countless times over the years. For some reason, I just didn’t look for it to test so I thought it was about time I did. I decided to purchase a sample online.   It is J’adore by Christian Dior and it is a 1ml spritzer sample of the eau de parfum.   “ J’adore’s original composition is a sophisticated harmony blossoming from Comoro Islands Ylang-Ylang and Damascus Rose Essences and Jasmine Sambac Absolute. ” Launched: 1999   Type: Floral Fruity / Feminine Notes Top: Pear, Melon, Magnolia, Peach, Mandarin Orange and Bergamot. Middle: Jasmine, Lily-Of-The-Valley, Tuberose, Freesia, Rose, Orchid, Plum and Violet. Base: Musk, Vanilla, Blackberry and Cedar. My assumption before testing this fragrance is that it would smell like an old classic (old lady) floral. It is very floral, but you do get the hit of the fresh fruity notes. I can mostly detect the Magnoli...

Becca's Babble's #4: My Current Favourite Songs

Photo: TheDJ.co.uk I thought I would post about something different today, something not beauty related. I have found myself listening to more music lately, seeing as though I have more time on my hands whilst the UK is on a sort of lockdown and I cannot go to work. By listening to more music, I mean more of the songs I have downloaded. I don’t really get to hear much new music as I do not listen to the radio or watch music channels on the TV. I am also kind of old school with music. I actually download the songs onto my PC instead of using a music streaming service. I just personally find it easier; I can then copy the songs to my phone. Streaming sites tend to delete their content after a while, but if you have the songs downloaded, you can never lose them until you delete them. I do subscribe to Amazon Music for my Echo Dot though, but I do find it incredibly frustrating when Alexa doesn’t understand what I want her to play, even though I am saying it in plain English!! Anyway...
