Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Instant Eye Palette

I now have four of these twelve pan palettes by Charlotte Tilbury. There is also another one called the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Eye Palette, which has a neutral smoky glam colour story. I believe it was released as limited edition in 2017. It is no longer available, so I am unable to get it, but I’m not overly interested in that one anyway. It is probably available on Depop somewhere. I am happy with owning just the four and I am eagerly waiting for Charlotte to release another twelve-pan palette, so I can add it to my collection (colour story depending). I did once say I wasn’t going to buy this palette in particular as it is definitely a me colour story, but I already have the shades in other palettes. I obviously relented and I do not regret it one bit! It does kind of give me Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette vibes, which is a palette I recently decluttered.
THE PACKAGING
The packaging is made of metallic and reflective rose gold plastic and it has a long, thin and rectangular shape. It has a starburst design across the front and a magnetic closing, which you lift up to; reveal the rectangular eyeshadow pans arranged in threes across a mirrored rose gold base. The group names are printed in dark brown font under each group of three. The shades don’t really have names, but there is a plastic insert included which labels the eyeshadows as 1 Prime, 2 Enhance or 3 Smoke. There is also a mirror on the underside of the lid.

MY THOUGHTS
·         Primer/Base - The eyeshadows are pigmented enough without a primer or base, but I would always lay one down. I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Too Faced Glitter Glue.
·        Pigmentation - The pigmentation is perfect; the shades are so buttery in texture!
·         Application (wet/dry) - The eyeshadows can be applied wet or dry. I always use mattes dry, unless I am applying them to my lower lash line or using them as eyeliner. I sometimes apply metallics/shimmers wet, but it depends on the formula and whether they contain glitters. Wet application can max up the pigmentation and help prevent fallout.
·         Blending - Like a dream! Extremely easy and seamless.
·         Kick-Back - Obviously, there is always going to be kick-back in your eyeshadow pans as you are disturbing powders. The kick-back was not a concern or issue for me in this particular palette.
·         Fallout - I didn’t notice any fallout, but it could be possible from the metallic shades.

This palette is of course beautiful! Again, I love the compact, slim and shiny packaging. The colour story is very attractive to me and the quality is just incredible. The mattes are so soft and blendable and the metallics are so buttery and molten looking. The shades really catch the light. The metallics can be applied beautifully with a stiff flat synthetic brush or your finger (I prefer finger), the Charlotte Tilbury formula is versatile. I like the ratio of formulas, I would probably have liked one or two more metallic shades, but it works for this palette. I loved every look I created with this palette and I can’t wait to continue playing with it. My favourite shades are; Day - 2 Enhance and Dream - 2 Enhance. The shade Desk - 1 Prime is the lightest matte shade and it just about shows up on my skin tone. Desk - 2 Enhance looked like a matte neutral pink in the pan to me at first, but it is a lovely salmon sort of shade on the eye. The shades Dream - 1 Prime and Dream - 2 Enhance don’t look too different from each other on the eye, so you could maybe do without one of them, but overall all shades work great for me. It is a nice natural/neutral palette with a romantic pop. I 100% recommend this palette. Do I need it? No. Do I regret it? Not a chance!

Serial Sampler #34

I’ve had this sample for a while now and I’ve only just decided to test it. I also have another sample of a spin-off scent from the same fragrance line, which I will post soon.   It is Candy by PRADA and it is a 1.5ml spritzer sample of the eau de parfum.   “ Prada Candy combines exceptionally high-quality ingredients in excessive proportions. Magnified by musks, noble benzoin comes together with a modern caramel accord to give the fragrance a truly unique signature ” Launched: 2011   Type: Oriental Vanilla Notes Top: Caramel. Middle: Musk and Powder. Base: Benzoin and Vanilla. I wasn’t expecting to like this fragrance when I looked at the notes and I was right! It smells kind of woody (burnt wood) and like celery. It is most definitely a spicy oriental scent and it is not me at all. It is quite strong, but it isn’t overpowering. I would say it is a unisex scent as it isn’t sweet. With a name like Candy, I was expecting some sweetness. There is the Caramel note whi...

LOOKFANTASTIC BEAUTY BOX #2 - June 2020

I decided to re-subscribe to the LookFantastic Beauty Box and I pre-ordered my June box on 22 nd May. It arrived yesterday (3 rd June) and I couldn’t wait to unbox it. My first and last LF Beauty Box was September 2014; I can’t believe it has nearly been six years! I initially un-subscribed due to the price (£15.00) and I mostly received skin care items and at the time, I was only really interested in make-up. I already saw a sneak peek for the June box (Staycation Edition), which is why I re-subscribed (the May box was sold out anyway). It was to supposed to be worth over £61.00 and the items would arrive in a travel bag. I knew I would receive a shower gel and possibly a hair brush as they were pictured. The postage for Look Fantastic is usually £2.95, but I believe it is free for Beauty Box subscriptions only. Here is what I received:- LookFantastic Beauty Bag | £12.00 | This is a cute aqua blue zipped travel bag, which contains the rest of the beauty products. ...

BY BEAUTY BAY Fiery 16 Colour Palette

This is the third BY BEAUTY BAY make-up product I’ve tried and I did see it on the website when it first launched, but never picked it up. It was always sold out anyway so I couldn’t get it and the packaging has just been re-vamped for all of their palettes and all of the products were re-stocked. I decided to pick this one up because of the size, it’s not too small and it’s not too big. The nine shade version of this palette is all matte, and I really like shimmers/metallic and the massive forty-two shade version is too big (too many shades and too big to store in my drawers). I thought the sixteen shade palette would be the perfect medium. My palette actually arrived faulty; one of the eyeshadows is missing (Burnt Sienna). In the spot were Burnt Sienna should be there is actually a duplicate of another shade in the palette (Sunstone). Basically, I have two Sunstone eyeshadows and I should only have one. I don’t have the shade Burnt Sienna when I should have one of them (abov...
