Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Lipsticks

I tried these lipsticks a while ago and I did recently de-clutter them all (April). I thought I would still share the swatches with you for reference. I only de-cluttered them because I didn’t use them, not because I didn’t like them.
Poet (60) - soft beige pink
Seductress (65) - dusty beige rose
Amazonian (70) - rich caramel brown
Fighter (75) - rich gingerbread brown
Self-Starter (130) - muted smoky peach
Ground-Breaker (117) - dark orange red
Lover (15) - dusty rose
Ruler (80) - marsala red
Voyager (50) - cool toned wine red
Heroine (25) - bright scarlet red
Creator (35) - bright violet
Believer (40) - dark eggplant purple

These matte liquid lipsticks are mean’t to be long lasting and stay on for twelve hours. They should also have intense colour pay-off and be non-drying to the lips. The arrow shaped applicator is mean’t to make it easy and more precise to apply the product to your lips. You can purchase them for £9.99 each from Boots, Superdrug, FeelUnique.com, Target and Ulta.
My First Impressions
They are kind of sticky/tacky when you first apply them, but they do dry down, apart from in the corners of your mouth. It does seem to take a while for them to dry down though. The dark colours are longer lasting than the lighter shades. They do last for hours, longer if you do not eat or drink anything, but I didn’t get to test them for a straight twelve hours. The arrow applicator does make it easy to apply and I find that one dip of product is enough to do your whole lips; you may want to dip in again for the darker shades. I always prepare my lips with lip scrub and then apply lip balm before lipstick anyway, so that they provide a nice smooth canvas for the lipstick to glide on to. I also use lip scrub and lip balm again after I have removed liquid lipstick, I find this helps prevent my lips from feeling dry. A liquid lipstick can claim not to dry out your lips, but I find my lips always feel dry after removing liquid lipstick regardless (hence double scrub & balm - prevention is better than a cure!). Overall, they are the best drugstore liquid lipsticks I have tried so far, but they do not beat my current favourite higher end ones (Jeffree Star Cosmetics).

Glossybox #25 - February 2019

This is my third Glossybox since I re-subscribed last year. It is also the Valentine’s Day themed box. I would say that so far, this box seems to be the one most tailored to my usual interests. I received seven products in this box, technically six because two go hand in hand. HUDA BEAUTY Lip Contour in Venus This lip pencil formula is supposed to be waterproof and transfer-free. It should glide on effortlessly and give your lips an intense shot of colour. You can use it to contour or colour your lips or pair it with a lipstick. Venus is a warm beige nude shade. It glides onto your lips very easy, but it feels a little tacky when you fill your whole lips in with it. I’m not sure how often I would use this seeing as though I have never used lip liner. I prefer liquid lipsticks and I don’t feel the need to line my lips before applying it. | 1.20g - £16.00 | NAILS INC Nail Varnish in Status Ready This nail polish should be long lasting and super glossy. Jeffree Star Cosmetics Jawbreaker Palette

I bought this palette back when it first launched (summer 2019) and I was interested in it so I could experiment more with bright colours. The colour selection definitely doesn’t disappoint and I was expecting it to be the same quality as the Blood Sugar Palette, if not slightly better! The packaging is quite a large rectangular shape and made out of metallic pink cardboard with colourful dots/dashes all over representing a jawbreaker pattern. The name of the palette is in a slightly raised font. It has a magnetic closing which you lift to reveal the twenty-four eyeshadow pans arranged on a white background. The other side is the same pattern as the front cover with a mirror. You can purchase it for £54.00 ($58.00) from JeffreeStarCosmetics.com and BeautyBay.com. You get twenty-four 1.50g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Shimmer (S) and Metallic (ME) finishes. e.l.f Earth & Ocean Palette

I haven’t purchased anything from e.l.f in the longest time. I happened upon a post of this palette on Instagram and the complimentary comments really peaked my interest in trying it for myself. Palettes I have tried from e.l.f. in the past haven’t been the greatest of quality; I kind of associate the brand as being for children, beginners or natural beauty wearers. I was also interested in the Retro Paradise Palette , but I thought I would get more use out of this one at the moment.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is quite simple with a clear/black outlined plastic rectangular shape. The fronting is transparent so that you can see the eyeshadows from the outside of the palette. It has a clip closing, which you push apart to reveal the inside. The square eyeshadow pans are spread out across a black base and the shade names are printed in grey font under each pan. THE EYESHADOWS & FORMULA You get eighteen 0.94g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Metallic (ME), Glitter (G), Satin (S) and Shimmer
