Maybelline LASH Sensational Mascara

I have tried a lot of the Maybelline Volum’ Express mascaras over the years and I thought I would give their newest addition a go. I love the colour of the packaging, it almost looks rose gold. It also has my favourite type of brush, rubber bristles!

The packaging is a sort of rocket tube shape, just like the other Maybelline volum’ express mascaras. The tube is made of plastic and is a metallic blush pink colour. The writing and band between the top and bottom of the tube is black. The brush has a curved shape and is a rubber bristle brush. The formula is creamy but not too wet. You get 9.5ml of product in the tube and the shade I have is Black. You can purchase it for £8.99 ($9.99) from Boots, Superdrug and Ulta.
This mascara claims to give you a layered and multiplied look, whilst lengthening and volumising your lashes. It has a new liquid formula with a low wax count which should create very dark and defined black lashes. The brush is Maybelline’s first layer-reveal brush and it should capture even the tiniest of lashes. It is cruelty-free, but not vegan (may contain Carmine).

I am slightly underwhelmed by this mascara; I really thought it was going to be amazing! It does make your lashes look more defined, separated and it also lifts them. It does have a deep black colour, but I have used darker and more pigmented mascaras previously. It is extremely easy to apply with the brush. I wouldn’t say it gives you a multiplying or layered look. It does contain any fibres in it, so I don’t know how your lashes could look multiplied. I needed to layer it quite a bit to get my desired volume, even on my lower lashes. I didn’t notice any flaking or smudging and the effects do last for more than eight hours. It is an ok mascara, but I prefer a lot more volume and I expected more considering it is from the volum’ express line. It definitely doesn’t do it for me unfortunately. I recommend it if you are not into too much volume, but if you want a dramatic look, I wouldn’t bother.

BY BEAUTY BAY Fiery 16 Colour Palette

This is the third BY BEAUTY BAY make-up product I’ve tried and I did see it on the website when it first launched, but never picked it up. It was always sold out anyway so I couldn’t get it and the packaging has just been re-vamped for all of their palettes and all of the products were re-stocked. I decided to pick this one up because of the size, it’s not too small and it’s not too big. The nine shade version of this palette is all matte, and I really like shimmers/metallic and the massive forty-two shade version is too big (too many shades and too big to store in my drawers). I thought the sixteen shade palette would be the perfect medium. My palette actually arrived faulty; one of the eyeshadows is missing (Burnt Sienna). In the spot were Burnt Sienna should be there is actually a duplicate of another shade in the palette (Sunstone). Basically, I have two Sunstone eyeshadows and I should only have one. I don’t have the shade Burnt Sienna when I should have one of them (abov...

Anastasia Beverly Hills X Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit

This palette became a cult favourite in the beauty sphere when it was first released as a limited edition product in collaboration with Nicole Guerriero (Beauty Influencer on YouTube), and there have been many calls to bring it back. In 2020, Anastasia Beverly Hills finally listened after three long years! I only actually heard about this palette after it had completely sold out and was no longer available. I must have been living under a rock at some point during 2017, because I completely missed this product! I am glad I finally got the chance to get my hands on this palette and I have heard nothing but raving reviews. There are six metallic highlighter shades, which should be highly luminous. They have a refined formula that should deliver buildable coverage with a smooth finish. The shades were created to flatter all skin tones and they can be applied anywhere on the face, eyes, lips and body. The palette is cruelty-free and vegan. You can purchase the palette for £42.00 (...

Morphe X Jaclyn Hill Volume II Palette

This palette has been out for a while now and I did purchase it a while ago, but I have only just decided to really play with it. Morphe palettes in general put me off because of the size of them, no shade names, boring packaging and too many shades in some palettes. The colour story of this palette in particular is really attractive to me. I didn’t buy Volume I as I didn’t want to jump on the band wagon, the size of the packaging and the colour story is just boring to me. I did pick up the Vault Collection (four palettes) and what a massive disappointment it was too (now decluttered)!! I was initially put off this palette due to my past experiences, but the colour story though! Also, a good thing about the Morphe website is that you can always get 10% off your order with an affiliate code.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is a quite large thin rectangular shape. It is made out of glossy white cardboard and it has the branding and information printed in metallic silver font on the fro...
