Birchbox #2 - July 2014

This is my second ever Birchbox (arrived yesterday) and I was interested to see if it beat last month’s box. I got another free lifestyle extra, so I am assuming you get one every month! Here is what I received this month:-
Models Own Nail Polish in Sparkler
£5 – ModelsOwnIt.com
This is my first ever Models Own nail polish and it is from the Fireworks collection. It looks like a very pretty top coat, but I’m not sure if I would actually use it. Only time will tell!

Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream
£20 (15ml) – BalanceMe.co.uk
I have owned a lip balm from this brand before and this eye cream does sound interesting. I will give it a go because I am always on the lookout for a new/different eye cream.

LAQA & CO Lip Lube in Menatour
£14.95 (full size) – LAQAandCO.co.uk
I have never heard of this brand before and this product looks very interesting. It is a cute mini size and the colour is a bright purple. It is not something I would typically wear, but I will give it a whirl!

Benefit The Porefessional
£24.50 (22ml) – BenefitCosmetics.co.uk
I already have this in a full size and smaller sample size, so I will never run out! I haven’t actually got around to trying it yet, but I LOVE Benefit products.

Whish Three Wishes Body Butter™ in Lavender
£14.50 (150ml) – WhishBody.com
This brand is new to me too and I’ve said before, I really dislike body butters! This one smells nice, but I will just not use it.

Filosofille 4 Sided Nail Buffer
Free Gift
This is the lifestyle extra for this box and it is a sweet addition. I will probably not use it, so I have given it to my sister.

The selection I received this month is kind of boring, June’s box was definitely much better! I will still get use out of the items, but they are not as exciting as the ones from the last box. I am staying subscribed for now though because I saw a teaser for the August box and it looks promising for now!

What are your thoughts on this box?

Perfume Power! - Next 'Paradise'

I first smelt this perfume after receiving it in a mini gift set about ten years ago and I have loved it ever since. This 100ml size is my first bottle of it though, other than the tester/sample size. The bottle is quite tall and it is a sort of clutch bag shape if you turn it on its side. The bottle is a simple design and you can easily see how much perfume you have. On mine the spray pump sometimes gets stuck in the band around the neck of the bottle, but the problem is easily solved. I can’t find a specific note list anywhere for this perfume, but on Next’s site it is described as, "a light fruity fragrance with white florals and green notes". To me it smells really fruity and fresh. It is also multifunctional because it is quite strong and sexy, so perfect for a night out, but it is also not too overpowering and smells fresh and fruity enough for day time wear. It is actually an eau de toilette, which means that it is less concentrated, but I find that it is st...

TAG - The Good, The Bad, The British

Photo: EnchantedIvyGifts.co.uk I was browsing my subscription videos on YouTube and I saw that EssieButton uploaded a new TAG video called The British Tag, and after watching it I decided I wanted to do the TAG too. I believe this TAG was created by BeautyCrush , so all credit is awarded to her. 1. How many cups of tea do you have a day & how do you take it? I drink around three cups of tea a day and I take mine with one small sugar and a bit of semi-skimmed milk. Tea is also the only hot drink I like. 2. What is your favourite part of a Sunday roast? My favourite part of a roast is the vegetables. I love kale & leak and broccoli! My Mum’s gravy is also to die for. 3. What is your favourite dunking biscuit? I don’t dunk biscuits anymore, but when I was younger I loved dunking Bourbons. If I was to dunk a biscuit now, I would probably choose either a Rich Tea or plain Digestive. 4. What is your quintessential British pastime? I love visiting ruins/m...
