Glossybox #9 - April 2014

You may have noticed that last Friday I posted about my June 2014 Glossybox, well the day after I received that one, my free box came and I am annoyed! I was led to believe from the e-mail that the free box would be July, but instead I received the April 2014 box! I noticed that a few people were annoyed too, but Glossybox insist they promised a free past box, not the limited edition 4th July box! Anyway, here is what I got in this box:-
EMITE MAKE UP Lip Brush (L312)
£17 – EmiteMakeUp.com
I’ve not heard of this brand before and it is an odd shaped lip brush. I will definitely try it out and I can’t believe how expensive it is!

MONU Spa Warming Ginger Massage & Body Oil
£26 (100ml) – MonuShop.co.uk
This brand is too new to me and I’m not really into oils. I will however give this a go because it smells lovely.

MeMeMe Cosmetics Beat The Blues in Pearl Pink
£5.50 (12ml) – MeMeMeCosmetics.co.uk
I have heard of this brand and my local Superdrug used to sell it. I was interested in buying this exact product and then my Superdrug discontinued the brand, but I can now try it. It reminds me so much of my beloved Benefit High Beam.

TRESemmé Instant Refresh Cleansing Dry Shampoo
£4.99 (200ml) – Tresemme.co.uk
I have used this brand for years and I don’t mind trying a new dry shampoo. It doesn’t really smell like you would expect, but I will be interested to test it on my oily hair!

Unica Cosmetics Radiance Plus
Bergamot & Lavender
£12.95 (50ml) – UnicaCosmetics.com
This brand is completely new to me and the product does smell nice. I will give it a go, seeing as though I am always shopping around for new face moisturisers to try.

Although I am disappointed that this is the free box, this box is actually quite nice. Not as good as June’s box, but there is products here that I will use. I am keeping my subscription still though because I really want July’s box, even if I have to pay for it!

What are your thoughts on this box?

e.l.f Earth & Ocean Palette

I haven’t purchased anything from e.l.f in the longest time. I happened upon a post of this palette on Instagram and the complimentary comments really peaked my interest in trying it for myself. Palettes I have tried from e.l.f. in the past haven’t been the greatest of quality; I kind of associate the brand as being for children, beginners or natural beauty wearers. I was also interested in the Retro Paradise Palette , but I thought I would get more use out of this one at the moment.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is quite simple with a clear/black outlined plastic rectangular shape. The fronting is transparent so that you can see the eyeshadows from the outside of the palette. It has a clip closing, which you push apart to reveal the inside. The square eyeshadow pans are spread out across a black base and the shade names are printed in grey font under each pan. THE EYESHADOWS & FORMULA You get eighteen 0.94g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Metallic (ME), Glitter (G), Satin (S) and Shi...

KALEIDOS Futurism II: Cyber Bronze Palette

I have seen these palettes before on YouTube, a few people I follow have featured them in palette collection videos. The colour stories always looked incredible, but I knew I probably wouldn’t get much use out of them as the colours are bright and you are limited to six shades. I had only really seen the Futurism III: Astro-Pink , Futurism I: Sci-Fi Green , Futurism IV: VR Neon and Futurism V: Electro-Turquoise ones before. When I made my first Kaleidos order, I didn’t bother looking at the palettes as I knew I wanted the highlighters and it was going to be pricey as it was. I was browsing through Depop on the day my order arrived and came across the Futurism II: Cyber Bronze Palette . I think the seller must have received her order the same day as me. I instantly fell in love with the colour story, but I pondered over whether to purchase it or not. At 3am the next morning (insomnia), I bit the bullet and made my purchase. It was brand new and untouched, I just couldn’t! THE P...

Violet Voss X Laura Lee Palette

After being blown away by the Holy Grail Palette, I just couldn’t pass on this one! The shade selection doesn’t appeal to me as much, but I know the quality will be there. Also, this palette is limited edition so I wouldn’t recommend hesitating if you are interested in it. I believe this palette is a collaboration with a YouTuber called Laura Lee. I don’t know anything about Laura, but from what I gather she makes beauty videos. The palette design is similar to the Holy Grail Palette but the colour scheme is different, but it still has the holographic effect on the packaging. It has a rectangular shape to it and it is slightly bulky and has a little weight to it. It has a magnetic closing and when you lift the lid it reveals the eyeshadow pans and a mirror. The packaging colour scheme is black and silver. You get twenty 36g eyeshadows in a variety of shades and finishes.
