TAG - The Good, The Bad, The British

Photo: EnchantedIvyGifts.co.uk
I was browsing my subscription videos on YouTube and I saw that EssieButton uploaded a new TAG video called The British Tag, and after watching it I decided I wanted to do the TAG too. I believe this TAG was created by BeautyCrush, so all credit is awarded to her.

1. How many cups of tea do you have a day & how do you take it?
I drink around three cups of tea a day and I take mine with one small sugar and a bit of semi-skimmed milk. Tea is also the only hot drink I like.

2. What is your favourite part of a Sunday roast?
My favourite part of a roast is the vegetables. I love kale & leak and broccoli! My Mum’s gravy is also to die for.

3. What is your favourite dunking biscuit?
I don’t dunk biscuits anymore, but when I was younger I loved dunking Bourbons. If I was to dunk a biscuit now, I would probably choose either a Rich Tea or plain Digestive.

4. What is your quintessential British pastime?
I love visiting ruins/medieval sites of history. The most recent one I visited was Gunby Hall & Gardens and it was a beautiful day! I always feel very relaxed when I visit them and I wish more of those types of sites were cared for better.

5. What is your favourite British word?
I don’t really have a favourite British word, but one I use a lot is ‘twat’.

6. Explain Cockney rhyming slang!
Cockney rhyming slang is where common words are replaced with rhyming phrases, to make the words sound more fun and different. An example would be Apples & Pears, which means stairs. I don’t get why this type of slang exists, but it does nevertheless.

7. What is your favourite British sweet/treat?
I don’t eat as many sweets now (try not to); as I used to, but I love Cadbury’s Dairy Milk chocolate (Oreo bar/giant buttons). I eat more chocolate than sweets, but I do like Bubblegum Bottles. They are not really one branded sweets, so you can really find them anywhere. Haribo do them and so do Tesco.

8. What would you call your British pub?
I would probably be more likely to open a restaurant or a hotel, but I think the name The Sailor’s Arms stands out, seeing as though I live by the sea!

9. Who is your number one British person?
I think it should be the Queen or Prime Minister, but I am in love with the Game of Thrones actress, Emilia Clarke. She is amazing as Daenerys Targaryen! I hope she does not become the series villain at the end!

10. What is your favourite British shop & restaurant?
I love British drugstores, such as, Superdrug and Boots and I mostly shop for make-up in them. My favourite restaurant is a local place called Wolfies Wine Bar. It is not a chain business, but the food is gorgeous and their prices are reasonable. For a chain of restaurants, I really like The Harvester, but I haven’t eaten in one for years!

11. What is your favourite British song?
When I was younger I was really into British pop bands like, Steps and SClub7. I would have to say at the moment, my favourite old-ish time British song is After The Love Has Gone by Steps.

12. Marmite?
YES! I like it on toast and when I was younger, I used to have it in my sandwiches (just with butter).

TAG you’re it!

My Eye Primers: The Verdict!

It has taken me a long time to put this altogether, but I have finally done it! I decided I wanted to share my thoughts on eye primers I had tried and it turned out that I had ten, so I thought I would test them and find out which one worked best for me. I have split them into two categories (High End/Low End) and I aim to rank them from #1 to #10 on which is the longest wearing. Let’s look at the primers I will be testing. HIGH END URBAN DECAY PRIMER POTION PRICE: £17.50 SIZE: 10ml SHADES: Original, Anti-ageing, Freebase, Eden, Fix, Minor Sin, Sin and Caffeine APPLICATION: Squeeze tube without a nozzle, but also has a sponge stick applicator PROMISES: Non-creasing, gives you vibrant eyeshadows WHERE TO BUY: UrbanDecay.co.uk (UK) & Sephora (USA) I like to think that this primer is my favourite as I love the packaging (purple is my favourite colour). It is potion bottle inspired and it is the first primer I remember ever seeing and wanting. The packa...

Perfume Power! - Next 'Paradise'

I first smelt this perfume after receiving it in a mini gift set about ten years ago and I have loved it ever since. This 100ml size is my first bottle of it though, other than the tester/sample size. The bottle is quite tall and it is a sort of clutch bag shape if you turn it on its side. The bottle is a simple design and you can easily see how much perfume you have. On mine the spray pump sometimes gets stuck in the band around the neck of the bottle, but the problem is easily solved. I can’t find a specific note list anywhere for this perfume, but on Next’s site it is described as, "a light fruity fragrance with white florals and green notes". To me it smells really fruity and fresh. It is also multifunctional because it is quite strong and sexy, so perfect for a night out, but it is also not too overpowering and smells fresh and fruity enough for day time wear. It is actually an eau de toilette, which means that it is less concentrated, but I find that it is st...
