Serial Sampler #19

I have a mascara mini/sample to share with you today. I actually purchased it myself and I bought the mini just in case I didn’t like it, and I also have a lot of other mascaras that need using up anyway.

It is BADgal BANG! by Benefit and it is a 4g mini of the full sized mascara (8.5g).

It is described as being smudge-proof, water resistant, lifting, lengthening and volume building. The mascara is cruelty-free, but not vegan (contains Beeswax).
I have previously used the original BADgal Mascara by Benefit and this one is quite different. I remember BADgal being very dark, wet and kind of clumpy, but BADgal BANG! is definitely an improvement. The brush is skinny and kind of arrow shaped, which is perfect for getting your very inner corner lashes and your lower lashes. It definitely lifts, lengthens and separates your lashes, but the volume is not the best. The volume is workable and the formula isn’t clumpy so you can apply more than one layer to build more volume. The colour is very black. I’m not sure if it is really smudge-proof because if you rub your eyes (when the mascara is dry), the mascara will smudge and flake a little. I haven’t tried the water resistant claim, but I imagine that if you douse your face with water it could probably run down your face as it isn’t actually waterproof, but if you get caught in a bit of rain you should be ok. It doesn’t run or smudge when you apply setting spray. Overall, I do quite like this mascara. I have tried better, but I would still consider re-purchasing it in the full size.

You can buy the full sized tube for £22.50 ($25.00) and it is available for purchase from; BenefitCosmetics.co.uk and BenefitCosmetics.com.

Haul: Small Unmentioned Purchases

For today’s post I am going to share with you a few products that I have recently purchased and have not mentioned. I actually purchased one of the products last year but I thought I would include it anyway because I have not mentioned it before. The product I bought last year was from Asda and it is the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 HR Cream/Gel Eyeshadow in Pink Gold . I bought it for £4.99 and I got it because I thought it was limited edition but as it turned out it is actually permanent. It is a gorgeous colour! Now for the products I have bought recently this year. The Urban Decay Oz: The Great and Powerful Theodora Palette  for £35 from BeautyBay.com. I have used this palette a few times and I really like it. From Superdrug I picked up a Maybelline theROCKET Volum’Express Mascara  in the shade Black because I was interested in trying it and I got it for £5.99 because it had a £2 off offer. From Home Bargains I picked up another can of the TRESemmé Extra Hold...

KALEIDOS Futurism VI: Lunar Lavender Palette

This is my second KALEIDOS palette and I bought it from the same Depop seller as last time. I also purchased the Futurism I: Sci-Fi Green and Futurism VII: Sashimi City Palettes, reviews on those will be coming soon. THE PACKAGING The packaging is a long thin rectangle shape and the concept reminds me of a wardrobe. There is a purple, pink and rose gold coral (the reef kind) and cloud theme all over the packaging. It has a magnetic closing and you open up the left side first and then the right side to reveal the circular eyeshadow pans and long thin mirror inside. The outside theme continues to the inside, but the colours are lilac, pink, peach and orange with rose gold. The eyeshadow names come printed on a plastic sheet. THE EYESHADOWS & FORMULA You get six 1.33g eyeshadows/pressed pigments in Matte (M), Duo-Chrome (DC) and Shimmer (S) finishes.   ·          Rich and Velvety Texture ·          Smo...

Oden's Eye Solmåne Eyeshadow Palette

I first heard of this indie brand through watching Angelika Oles’ beauty channel on YouTube. Oden’s Eye is a Swedish indie brand and they make Norse mythology themed products. This is one of two eyeshadow palettes I decided to purchase; I also picked up the two matching highlighter palettes.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is small and rectangular in shape. It is made out of cardboard and it has a sort of textured covering (like on pogs). The design and imagery is so unique to the brand. Solmåne means the sun and moon in Swedish. Sol represents the Sun Goddess and Måne represents the Moon God. Both Gods are represented on the packaging. There is a colour split of warm and cool toned shades (lavender, pink, orange & yellow) along with moon, star and Norse symbols. The wheel around the Gods is metallic gold, so it really reflects the light when you move the palette around. The eyeshadow shade names are printed on the back of the palette. The palette has a magnetic closing/opening, ...
