Beauty Bakerie Lip Whips & Remover

I had wanted to try these lipsticks for a very long time, but I was sceptical as I had heard mixed reviews. Some people love them, some people dislike them. I had also heard that they are very hard to remove, which leads me to believe that the staying power must be there. My current favourite liquid lipsticks are still the JSC Velour ones and nothing else I have tried has topped them yet, a couple of brands have come close though!
ABOUT THE PRODUCTS
The packaging of the lipsticks is simple, but aesthetically pleasing; I like the blue accent caps. It is made out of plastic and there is something inside the tube to make the formula looked twisted in the tube, which is a nice detail that I haven’t seen before. The applicator is a little pear shaped sponge with a little well in the middle to hold the product.

The packaging of the remover is also pretty simple and cute. The container is made of lightweight plastic and you could easily repurpose it once you have used up the wipes.
You get 3.5ml of liquid lipstick in Crème (C), Matte (M) and Metallic (ME) finishes. You get 50 oil based remover wipes.

MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS
The packaging of the lipsticks is cute and the applicator is easy to use and apply product to your lips. The shades I chose are beautiful and are exactly my type of shades. The formula is creamy and it does dry down pretty quick, generally one coat looks great but you may need two depending on the shade and how opaque you want it. They are long wearing, but they definitely do fade when you eat and drink. They mostly fade from the bottom lip, the top lip stays looking perfect. I found them relatively easy to remove with just a warm damp cloth, although it was much easier with the wipes. I did enjoy these lipsticks, but I don’t think I will purchase any more of them as I still think the JSC ones are better.

I like the packaging for the lip whip remover, but the product on a whole isn’t really revolutionary. It is just a bunch of oils mixed together and left to soak up on little round wipes. Your fingers will feel oily/greasy after using them. They do work really well and are very fast working, but I feel like any oil based make-up remover could do the same job, if not better. I wouldn’t buy them again, but they do work. I didn’t really have that much of an issue removing the lip whips without these wipes; a warm damp cloth is good enough for me! I would however recommend them for lip swatches as they do remove every trace of product and your face doesn’t look red afterwards, but for what I would use them for I am better off with my warm damp cloth as I remove liquid lipstick at the end of the day when it has already worn off a bit, so it doesn’t take much effort to remove anyway.

Violet Voss X Laura Lee Palette

After being blown away by the Holy Grail Palette, I just couldn’t pass on this one! The shade selection doesn’t appeal to me as much, but I know the quality will be there. Also, this palette is limited edition so I wouldn’t recommend hesitating if you are interested in it. I believe this palette is a collaboration with a YouTuber called Laura Lee. I don’t know anything about Laura, but from what I gather she makes beauty videos. The palette design is similar to the Holy Grail Palette but the colour scheme is different, but it still has the holographic effect on the packaging. It has a rectangular shape to it and it is slightly bulky and has a little weight to it. It has a magnetic closing and when you lift the lid it reveals the eyeshadow pans and a mirror. The packaging colour scheme is black and silver. You get twenty 36g eyeshadows in a variety of shades and finishes. Serial Sampler #42

I have wanted to try this fragrance for a very long time and I have seen the advertisements with Charlize Theron countless times over the years. For some reason, I just didn’t look for it to test so I thought it was about time I did. I decided to purchase a sample online.   It is J’adore by Christian Dior and it is a 1ml spritzer sample of the eau de parfum.   “ J’adore’s original composition is a sophisticated harmony blossoming from Comoro Islands Ylang-Ylang and Damascus Rose Essences and Jasmine Sambac Absolute. ” Launched: 1999   Type: Floral Fruity / Feminine Notes Top: Pear, Melon, Magnolia, Peach, Mandarin Orange and Bergamot. Middle: Jasmine, Lily-Of-The-Valley, Tuberose, Freesia, Rose, Orchid, Plum and Violet. Base: Musk, Vanilla, Blackberry and Cedar. My assumption before testing this fragrance is that it would smell like an old classic (old lady) floral. It is very floral, but you do get the hit of the fresh fruity notes. I can mostly detect the Magnoli...

Becca's Babble's #4: My Current Favourite Songs

Photo: TheDJ.co.uk I thought I would post about something different today, something not beauty related. I have found myself listening to more music lately, seeing as though I have more time on my hands whilst the UK is on a sort of lockdown and I cannot go to work. By listening to more music, I mean more of the songs I have downloaded. I don’t really get to hear much new music as I do not listen to the radio or watch music channels on the TV. I am also kind of old school with music. I actually download the songs onto my PC instead of using a music streaming service. I just personally find it easier; I can then copy the songs to my phone. Streaming sites tend to delete their content after a while, but if you have the songs downloaded, you can never lose them until you delete them. I do subscribe to Amazon Music for my Echo Dot though, but I do find it incredibly frustrating when Alexa doesn’t understand what I want her to play, even though I am saying it in plain English!! Anyway...
