Serial Sampler #41

An advertisement popped up on Facebook with an offer of a free sample of this new fragrance and I clicked straight away! I have previously tested the original scent of this fragrance line and I loved it, so I was also expecting to like this one.

It is Born In Roma Yellow Dream by Valentino and it is a 1.2ml spritzer sample of the eau de parfum.

A floral lift of a thousand rose petals, twisted with a new clean and fresh addiction.

Launched: 2021

Type: Floral / Feminine (Donna)

Notes
Top: Italian Lemon.
Middle: Rose Essence.
Base: Clean Accord and White Musks.
This is a very soft and delicate floral scent with a fresh musk hint. It is definitely more floral smelling than the original Born In Roma fragrance. I can’t really detect the Italian Lemon. I can pick-up a fruity sort of hint, but it definitely isn’t lemon to me. I can detect the very light Rose Essence and White Musk and it does smell like a clean scent. It smells like a lovely spring day to me. I would definitely wear this scent and I recommend that you give it a sniff. I do still prefer the original Born In Roma fragrance over this one as it smells sweeter and is a more typically me scent.

You can purchase the Valentino Donna Born In Roma Yellow Dream Eau De Parfum in 30ml (£56.00), 50ml (£77.00) and 100ml (£112.00) from FragranceDirect.co.uk.

Charlotte Tilbury Starry Eyes To Hypnotise Instant Eye Palette

I purchased this palette as I most recently picked up the Charlotte Tilbury Bejewelled Eyes To Hypnotise Instant Eye Palette and fell in love with it. I had also previously owned the Charlotte Tilbury Stars-In-Your-Eyes Palette and the quality was the same as the Bejewelled version, so I was expecting and hoping this Starry version would be the same. THE PACKAGING The packaging is made of metallic royal blue plastic and it has a long, thin and rectangular shape. It has a glittery silver starburst design across the front. I believe all of these particular palettes have the same starburst design, but the colour varies from palette to palette. It has a magnetic closing, which you lift up to reveal the rectangular eyeshadow pans arranged in threes across a mirrored gold base. The group names are printed in dark brown font under each group of three. The shades don’t really have names, but there is a plastic insert included which labels the eyeshadows as 1 Prime, 2 Enhance or 3 Smoke. There ...

My Eye Primers: The Verdict!

It has taken me a long time to put this altogether, but I have finally done it! I decided I wanted to share my thoughts on eye primers I had tried and it turned out that I had ten, so I thought I would test them and find out which one worked best for me. I have split them into two categories (High End/Low End) and I aim to rank them from #1 to #10 on which is the longest wearing. Let’s look at the primers I will be testing. HIGH END URBAN DECAY PRIMER POTION PRICE: £17.50 SIZE: 10ml SHADES: Original, Anti-ageing, Freebase, Eden, Fix, Minor Sin, Sin and Caffeine APPLICATION: Squeeze tube without a nozzle, but also has a sponge stick applicator PROMISES: Non-creasing, gives you vibrant eyeshadows WHERE TO BUY: UrbanDecay.co.uk (UK) & Sephora (USA) I like to think that this primer is my favourite as I love the packaging (purple is my favourite colour). It is potion bottle inspired and it is the first primer I remember ever seeing and wanting. The packa...
