Serial Sampler #42

I have wanted to try this fragrance for a very long time and I have seen the advertisements with Charlize Theron countless times over the years. For some reason, I just didn’t look for it to test so I thought it was about time I did. I decided to purchase a sample online.

It is J’adore by Christian Dior and it is a 1ml spritzer sample of the eau de parfum.

J’adore’s original composition is a sophisticated harmony blossoming from Comoro Islands Ylang-Ylang and Damascus Rose Essences and Jasmine Sambac Absolute.

Launched: 1999

Type: Floral Fruity / Feminine

Notes
Top: Pear, Melon, Magnolia, Peach, Mandarin Orange and Bergamot.
Middle: Jasmine, Lily-Of-The-Valley, Tuberose, Freesia, Rose, Orchid, Plum and Violet.
Base: Musk, Vanilla, Blackberry and Cedar.
My assumption before testing this fragrance is that it would smell like an old classic (old lady) floral. It is very floral, but you do get the hit of the fresh fruity notes. I can mostly detect the Magnolia, Bergamot, Jasmine Freesia and Musk notes. I can’t really detect the individual fruity notes, but I know they are there. It is more florally based than I would like or typically wear, but it does smell good and not too mature. I don’t think I would go out and purchase a bottle though as it is floral heavy.

You can purchase the Christian Dior J’adore Eau De Parfum in 30ml (£55.00), 50ml (£78.00), 100ml (£112.00) and 150ml (£142.00) from Dior.com.

L'ORÉAL Volume Million Lashes So Couture Mascara

I bought this mascara and while ago with the intentions of reviewing it, but I only wear mascara when I wear eyeshadow, which is not very often these days. It has taken me a while to get around to trying out this mascara. The packaging is made of purple and gold plastic and it has a sort of tapered oval shape. The brush is small and made of rubber. It has longer bristles towards the bottom and shorter bristles at the top. The formula is creamy and kind of thick, but it does feel lightweight on your lashes. You get 9.5ml of product in the tube and the shade is Noir/Black. You can buy it for £10.99 from places such as Boots (UK), Superdrug (UK) and Ulta (USA). It is supposed to give your lashes definition and volume without making them clumpy or feeling stiff. The couture brush should coat every lash without clumps and it has small soft bristles, which should reach each lash and evenly spread the mascara. There’s nothing special about the packaging it is just a nice masc...

Haul: Small Unmentioned Purchases

For today’s post I am going to share with you a few products that I have recently purchased and have not mentioned. I actually purchased one of the products last year but I thought I would include it anyway because I have not mentioned it before. The product I bought last year was from Asda and it is the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 HR Cream/Gel Eyeshadow in Pink Gold . I bought it for £4.99 and I got it because I thought it was limited edition but as it turned out it is actually permanent. It is a gorgeous colour! Now for the products I have bought recently this year. The Urban Decay Oz: The Great and Powerful Theodora Palette  for £35 from BeautyBay.com. I have used this palette a few times and I really like it. From Superdrug I picked up a Maybelline theROCKET Volum’Express Mascara  in the shade Black because I was interested in trying it and I got it for £5.99 because it had a £2 off offer. From Home Bargains I picked up another can of the TRESemmé Extra Hold...
