Serial Sampler #42

I have wanted to try this fragrance for a very long time and I have seen the advertisements with Charlize Theron countless times over the years. For some reason, I just didn’t look for it to test so I thought it was about time I did. I decided to purchase a sample online.

It is J’adore by Christian Dior and it is a 1ml spritzer sample of the eau de parfum.

J’adore’s original composition is a sophisticated harmony blossoming from Comoro Islands Ylang-Ylang and Damascus Rose Essences and Jasmine Sambac Absolute.

Launched: 1999

Type: Floral Fruity / Feminine

Notes
Top: Pear, Melon, Magnolia, Peach, Mandarin Orange and Bergamot.
Middle: Jasmine, Lily-Of-The-Valley, Tuberose, Freesia, Rose, Orchid, Plum and Violet.
Base: Musk, Vanilla, Blackberry and Cedar.
My assumption before testing this fragrance is that it would smell like an old classic (old lady) floral. It is very floral, but you do get the hit of the fresh fruity notes. I can mostly detect the Magnolia, Bergamot, Jasmine Freesia and Musk notes. I can’t really detect the individual fruity notes, but I know they are there. It is more florally based than I would like or typically wear, but it does smell good and not too mature. I don’t think I would go out and purchase a bottle though as it is floral heavy.

You can purchase the Christian Dior J’adore Eau De Parfum in 30ml (£55.00), 50ml (£78.00), 100ml (£112.00) and 150ml (£142.00) from Dior.com.

Serial Sampler #39

I have another perfume sample to share today. Again, I can’t remember how long I have had this one, but I know I haven’t smelled it before. I always mean’t to test it sooner, but didn’t for reason, so now is the time!   It is Olympéa by Paco Rabanne and it is a 1.5ml spritzer sample of the eau de parfum.   “ The divine perfume with a fresh oriental signature; it’s sparkling green tangerine top notes reveal a unique salty vanilla accord. Then it’s addictive heart of captivating jasmine and ginger Lilly scents unveils a sensual ambergris and cashmere wood base ” Launched: 2015   Type: Oriental Floral / Feminine Notes Top: Water Jasmine, Green Mandarin and Ginger Flower. Middle: Vanilla and Salt. Base: Cashmere Wood, Ambergris and Sandalwood. I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this fragrance, I assumed it would smell like an ‘old lady’ floral but I was very wrong. It smells quite sensual and it is a perfect example of a deep oriental floral scent. I can really s...

Boots No7 Limited Edition Beach Beautiful Eye Palette

This was a limited edition product part of a Boots N o 7 Summer Collection available in either 2009 or 2010. Shade 1 - a turquoise green Shade 2 - a light lime green Shade 3 - a light plum purple Shade 4 - a blue tinted silver Shade 5 - a light nutty brown Although the palette looks very nice, the colours are not very pigmented at all and are all shimmery. The colours are also very ashy and crease with and without an eye primer underneath! Had I have not received this product as a gift I would not have purchased it myself! It is no longer available at Boots, but you might be able to find it on eBay! £12.50 – Boots.com Let me know in the comments section if you have tried this palette and tell me what you think/thought of it. Thanks for reading! J
