KALEIDOS Futurism VII: Sashimi City Palette

This was the futurism palette that I was the most excited about trying. It’s the one that has the most cohesive colour story to me and I do love me some warm neutrals! I still have three more futurism palettes to test out and I can’t wait.
THE PACKAGING
The packaging is a long thin rectangle shape and the concept reminds me of a wardrobe. There is a purple, pink and coral city skyscraper theme all over the packaging. It has a magnetic closing and you open up the left side first and then the right side to reveal the circular eyeshadow pans and long thin mirror inside. The outside theme continues to the inside. The eyeshadow shade names come printed on a removable plastic sheet.

MY THOUGHTS
·         Primer/Base - The eyeshadows are pigmented enough without a primer or base, but I would always lay one down. I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Too Faced Glitter Glue.
·         Pigmentation - The pigmentation is stunning. The mattes are so smooth and the glittery shades are impressive.
·         Application (wet/dry) - The eyeshadows can be applied wet or dry. I always use mattes dry, unless I am applying them to my lower lash line or using them as eyeliner. I sometimes apply metallics/shimmers wet, but it depends on the formula and whether they contain glitters. Wet application can max up the pigmentation and help prevent fallout.
·         Blending - This was effortless, the shades blend together really well.
·         Kick-Back - Obviously, there is always going to be kick-back in your eyeshadow pans as you are disturbing powders. The kick-back was not a concern or issue for me in this particular palette.
·         Fallout - You will only get slight fallout from the two glittery shades if you do not apply a tacky enough base.

I love this palette! The overall formula and packaging is great and the colour story is just me and it makes so much sense. The matte shades are all warm toned, which is great for me. Pink Ginger matches a warm toned look, but Penthouse can match a warm toned or cooler toned look.  My favourite shades are obviously Penthouse and Pink Ginger; they look incredible on the eyes, they don’t really have a base pigment, but they are very light reflecting. It looks like you have crushed diamonds on your eyes!. There are not any downsides of this palette, but I do wish that the shade Soy Sauce was slightly deeper and less warm toned, so you could really add depth to the outer corners of your eyes. I kind of wish that Kaleidos put the shades from this palette and the Futurism VI: Lunar Lavender Palette together and made a larger palette with more new shades. I just absolutely adore their shimmer/metallic formula and their mattes are fantastic too. I highly recommend their eyeshadow palettes, but this one in particular so far is my favourite.

KALEIDOS Futurism II: Cyber Bronze Palette

I have seen these palettes before on YouTube, a few people I follow have featured them in palette collection videos. The colour stories always looked incredible, but I knew I probably wouldn’t get much use out of them as the colours are bright and you are limited to six shades. I had only really seen the Futurism III: Astro-Pink , Futurism I: Sci-Fi Green , Futurism IV: VR Neon and Futurism V: Electro-Turquoise ones before. When I made my first Kaleidos order, I didn’t bother looking at the palettes as I knew I wanted the highlighters and it was going to be pricey as it was. I was browsing through Depop on the day my order arrived and came across the Futurism II: Cyber Bronze Palette . I think the seller must have received her order the same day as me. I instantly fell in love with the colour story, but I pondered over whether to purchase it or not. At 3am the next morning (insomnia), I bit the bullet and made my purchase. It was brand new and untouched, I just couldn’t! THE P...

Boots.com Haul #2 + Blog Sale Purchase

I thought I would share a haul with you today. I haven’t done one for a while but I recently ordered a few items from Boots and I wanted to let you know about it. I bought the Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Palette , which includes two sample sachets of the deep cleansing gel. I have been waiting for something like this and I cannot wait to try it. I simply refuse to buy the Sigma version, plus I don’t think it needs to be that big. I also got a packet of the Oral-B Precision Clean Electric Toothbrush Heads because they were on offer and I got eight for the price of four. I got four tubes of the Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Hand Sanitiser because I absolutely love the scent and I wanted to put them in difference rooms so they are always to hand when needed. I bought a back-up of the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation , which is my favourite foundation and I use the shade 010 Light Porcelain. Lastly, I got the Rimmel Brow This Way Styling Gel in Clear. It is the second tube I...

Serial Sampler #35

I have another perfume sampler today. I can’t remember how I got the sample or how long I’ve had it, but I thought it was about time to give it a whiff!   It is BonBon by Viktor & Rolf and it is a 1.5ml spritzer sample of the eau de parfum. Launched: 2014   Type: Floral & Fruity Notes Top: Peach, Mandarin Orange and Orange. Middle: Caramel, Orange Blossom and Jasmine. Base: Amber, Sandalwood, Guaiac Wood and Cedar. This is a delicate scent and I definitely get the floral and fruity notes. I can mostly smell the orange blossom, jasmine and amber, with a slight hint of caramel. It smells quite strong when you first spray it and then it tones down a bit. It is a nice scent, but it isn’t unique. I was expecting it to smell a little bit sweeter. I would wear it, but I won’t be purchasing a bottle any time soon.   You can purchase the Viktor & Rolf BonBon Eau De Parfum in 30ml (£56.00), 50ml (£78.00) and 90ml (£110.00) from Boots.com . ...
