Review: Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil

This was the second eyebrow pencil I had ever tried because I wanted something that was inexpensive and maybe had an applicator with it.

The product just looks like an eyeliner pencil, but on the side of the cap there is a grooming brush. The cap colour reflects the actual product colour. To apply it, you take off the cap and put it on the end of the pencil. You then just fill in your eyebrows like you would normally, just add more pressure to the pencil if you want a darker look. You can then turn the pencil upside down and use the brush. The formula is really soft and you can tell it has some wax built in to it. You get 1.4g of product and the shade I have is 002 Hazel, which is a light honey brown shade.
This brow pencil is supposed to be brilliant for filling the gaps in your brows and great for lengthening your arc for a natural look. The colour should be long wearing and smudge-proof and the brush applicator should make it easy for you to groom and shape.

I am really impressed with this brow pencil! It fills in gaps very well and it still looks very natural. I find you get the best results when you have enough hairs for the product to stick too, so I would not recommend it for lengthening your arc because it looks odd when it is just over skin. I find the pencil to be very long wearing, eight hours plus and it doesn’t smudge or fade. It works best when the tip is sharp and it sharpens very well too. I have noticed that the colour seems to darken on standing, but it is not a problem. The brush is also brilliant for grooming and shaping your brows. Any brow gel/clear mascara also works great over this and you actually have the choice whether to use one or not.

Overall I really love this product and although I would still be open to trying a different brow pencil, I am happy with this one for now. As the saying goes, “If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it!”.

Oden's Eye Norn’s Mesmerizer Highlighters

When I saw that Oden’s Eye posted on their Instagram page about their new Norn’s Series Collection, I knew I would be making my second purchase of their products. The collection as a whole includes four eyeshadow palettes and three highlighters. The palettes all looked beautiful, but I knew I wouldn’t get much use out of them and I didn’t just want to buy them to swatch and post about and then not use again. I did want to buy all three highlighters, but I settled on the two that I would get most use out of. The one I didn’t choose is a stunning blue and silver shade and I just knew I wouldn’t wear it as much as the other two. I already own a few other blue highlighters and I hardly ever wear them. I believe only the three highlighters are limited edition and the eyeshadow palettes are all permanent. ABOUT THE PRODUCT In Norse mythology, three sisters (Norn’s) weave and guard the web of fate. They also attend the spring of life that supports the World Tree. The highlighters reflect the ...

ZOEVA Rose Golden Palette

I saw this palette a while ago on a beauty blog and instantly knew I had to have it. It’s not long launched here in the UK, but it’s already a cult favourite! I just adore the packaging, everything about it! It’s made out of cardboard, but it feels sturdy and durable and it is a gorgeous kind of coffee/red velvet chocolate colour. It has a beautiful rose gold design on the front, with swirls and then a centered key. It has a magnetic closing, which is quite strong because if you hold it from the top when closed and give it a shake, the two parts don’t separate (palette doesn’t open). It has a light feel in general and inside it’s all one beautiful colour and the eyeshadows are well spaced. Around each pan is a rose gold diamond border and underneath in small rose gold letters are the shade names. On the back of the palette is the usual ingredients and other information blurbs. You get ten full size eyeshadows (0.5oz) with matte, metallic or satin finishes and each has a cute...

My Eye Primers: The Verdict!

It has taken me a long time to put this altogether, but I have finally done it! I decided I wanted to share my thoughts on eye primers I had tried and it turned out that I had ten, so I thought I would test them and find out which one worked best for me. I have split them into two categories (High End/Low End) and I aim to rank them from #1 to #10 on which is the longest wearing. Let’s look at the primers I will be testing. HIGH END URBAN DECAY PRIMER POTION PRICE: £17.50 SIZE: 10ml SHADES: Original, Anti-ageing, Freebase, Eden, Fix, Minor Sin, Sin and Caffeine APPLICATION: Squeeze tube without a nozzle, but also has a sponge stick applicator PROMISES: Non-creasing, gives you vibrant eyeshadows WHERE TO BUY: UrbanDecay.co.uk (UK) & Sephora (USA) I like to think that this primer is my favourite as I love the packaging (purple is my favourite colour).
