Birchbox #1 - June 2014

I have seen of a lot of YouTube videos of Birchboxes and I just decided to try one myself, seeing as though this box looked quite good and I thought it would make a change to having Glossyboxes.

When you open the outer packaging, there is a small cardboard box inside, which says Birchbox on it. When you open the box, you see the literature that comes with every box, including a product list. Underneath the literature, the products you get are packaging in a canvas pull string bag, this month’s bag is green like the Brazilian flag because the box is kind of football themed.

When I opened the bag, I was amazed to find that I had got some star products (beautyblender & theBalm cream). I was only expecting to get one or the other! The OPI polish also comes in a small mint coloured cardboard box inside the bag. Here is what I received overall this month:-

I have heard about this sponge ever since it came out, but it is not a new thing. I always thought it was expensive for a sponge, and I still think that but it is cute and the cleanser soap smells of lavender. I am interested in trying it and you can use it wet.

OPI (Mini) Sand Nail Lacquer in You’re So Flippy Floppy

I can’t lie, I was expecting it to be full size, but the mini is so cute! It is an eye catching colour and it is the sand formula. I did try it and if you wash the pots without gloves, the sand soaks off your nails. I probably won’t use it often, but it is a good edition to the box and it has a funny name!

I haven’t tried a lot from Caudalie, but this product sounds good and it smells quite nice. I am excited to give it a try.

NAOBAY Body Radiance Lotion

I have never heard of this brand before and when I read the product card, I was expecting it to be a sample sachet but it is actually a small tube. I don’t like body lotions/butters in general, but I will try this and it does smells lovely, just like fresh lemons!

I have seen the full size palette before and I was interested, but I knew I would hardly get use out of it. So I am very excited to have a very cute small sample of one of the shades. The shade I got is called Pie and I am happy to be able to try it.

The key ring is described as a lifestyle extra and it is a very sweet edition. I currently have it attached to my house key.

Overall I am very happy with my box/bag and I got a great mix of products. The product I am most excited about is theBalm cream in Pie. I will definitely be keeping my subscription to see what the July 2014 box/bag has to offer.

Serial Sampler #39

I have another perfume sample to share today. Again, I can’t remember how long I have had this one, but I know I haven’t smelled it before. I always mean’t to test it sooner, but didn’t for reason, so now is the time! It is Olympéa by Paco Rabanne and it is a 1.5ml spritzer sample of the eau de parfum. “ The divine perfume with a fresh oriental signature; it’s sparkling green tangerine top notes reveal a unique salty vanilla accord. Then it’s addictive heart of captivating jasmine and ginger Lilly scents unveils a sensual ambergris and cashmere wood base ” Launched: 2015 Type: Oriental Floral / Feminine Notes Top: Water Jasmine, Green Mandarin and Ginger Flower. Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte Darling Easy Eye Palette

I have another Charlotte Tilbury palette post for you today; I have been on a roll with them! You can definitely tell I am a fan of her eyeshadow formula. There are loads of other CT products I would love to try, but I am slowing down the purchases for now as I do have a confession to make at the end of this post! THE PACKAGING The packaging is made of shiny maroon plastic and it has a short, thin and rectangular shape. It has a metallic gold starburst design across the front. It has a magnetic closing, which you lift up to reveal the rectangular eyeshadow pans arranged in threes across a mirrored gold base. The group names are printed on the back of the palette. The shades don’t really have names, but there is a removable plastic insert included which labels the eyeshadows as 1 Prime, 2 Enhance or 3 Smoke. There is also a mirror on the underside of the lid. Perfume Power! - Avon 'Femme'

I recently started looking at the Avon catalogues again and I saw this perfume had a test circle. Whenever I see the test circles, I just have to rub them! I tested this perfume and I instantly wanted it, plus it was on offer with the matching body spray and lotion. The bottle is clear glass and is inspired by diamonds. The cap is clear plastic and is a squared diamond shape. It has a regular perfume spritzer, which is silver to blend in with the clear cut look. The fragrance notes are:- Top Notes: Pink Grapefruit, Plum & Violet Middle Notes: Jasmine, Wild Orchid & Magnolia Base Notes: Amber, Peach, Wood & Musk I really like the bottle because it is beautifully simple and you can see how much liquid you have left. The cap is not very secure though because it just sits on top of the spritzer, which means it can easy fall off in your bag. The spritzer is very easy to use and it distributes the perfume evenly in a concentrated mist. The scent I would say...
