CERTIFEYE The Eternity Palette

I have seen palettes by Certifeye on BeautyBay.com before and always thought that they looked beautiful, but I haven’t really heard anything about them from beauty influencers so I was sceptical about purchasing one. I decided to purchase the one I knew I would get the most use out of and it is exactly the colour story that attracts me to palettes.

The packaging is quite simple. It is made out of white cardboard and it has a rectangular shape. The design is quite plain, it just says “Do good and good will come to you” across it in a berry brush script font. It has a magnetic closing that you just lift up to reveal the square eyeshadow pans. The pans are arranged in three rows of six and each shade has its name printed underneath it. You can purchase this palette for £30.00 from Certifeye.co.uk and BeautyBay.com.

You get eighteen 1.4g eyeshadows in Matte (M) and Shimmer (S) finishes.

The eyeshadows should be soft and smooth, which will make them super blendable. The eyeshadows should also be very pigmented. This palette is vegan and cruelty free.

I was surprised by the quality of this palette. The shades are ultra-pigmented and are soft and smooth in texture and to apply. The mattes are super easy to blend and the shimmers are pretty. There wasn’t any noticeable fallout, but of course there was kick back in the pans (mostly from the mattes). I still recommend eye primer and glitter glue and shimmer/metallic shades are always best applied wet, with your finger or a stiff flat synthetic brush. The wear time of the mattes is great, but the shimmer shades do fade a little over time. The red shade Lovebug does look more pink when it is blended out, which is a little disappointing but a lot of red shades do tend to be pink based. The red shade Fancy looks the same as it does in the pan when blended out. I have no problems with the mattes but I wish there were a couple more shimmer shades and I wish they were more rich and metallic. Overall I am impressed with this palette, but the shimmers are a little lack lustre in my opinion. I have a couple more Certifeye palettes to test, so I will see if the shimmer formula is any different in those palettes. If you are mostly into matte shades, they do offer a couple of matte only palettes. I think they just need to up their shimmer game as that is my favourite formula (metallic to be more specific).

Glossybox #25 - February 2019

This is my third Glossybox since I re-subscribed last year. It is also the Valentine’s Day themed box. I would say that so far, this box seems to be the one most tailored to my usual interests. I received seven products in this box, technically six because two go hand in hand. HUDA BEAUTY Lip Contour in Venus This lip pencil formula is supposed to be waterproof and transfer-free. It should glide on effortlessly and give your lips an intense shot of colour. You can use it to contour or colour your lips or pair it with a lipstick. Venus is a warm beige nude shade. It glides onto your lips very easy, but it feels a little tacky when you fill your whole lips in with it. I’m not sure how often I would use this seeing as though I have never used lip liner. I prefer liquid lipsticks and I don’t feel the need to line my lips before applying it. | 1.20g - £16.00 | NAILS INC Nail Varnish in Status Ready This nail polish should be long lasting and super glossy. Jeffree Star Cosmetics Jawbreaker Palette

I bought this palette back when it first launched (summer 2019) and I was interested in it so I could experiment more with bright colours. The colour selection definitely doesn’t disappoint and I was expecting it to be the same quality as the Blood Sugar Palette, if not slightly better! The packaging is quite a large rectangular shape and made out of metallic pink cardboard with colourful dots/dashes all over representing a jawbreaker pattern. The name of the palette is in a slightly raised font. It has a magnetic closing which you lift to reveal the twenty-four eyeshadow pans arranged on a white background. The other side is the same pattern as the front cover with a mirror. You can purchase it for £54.00 ($58.00) from JeffreeStarCosmetics.com and BeautyBay.com. You get twenty-four 1.50g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Shimmer (S) and Metallic (ME) finishes. e.l.f Earth & Ocean Palette

I haven’t purchased anything from e.l.f in the longest time. I happened upon a post of this palette on Instagram and the complimentary comments really peaked my interest in trying it for myself. Palettes I have tried from e.l.f. in the past haven’t been the greatest of quality; I kind of associate the brand as being for children, beginners or natural beauty wearers. I was also interested in the Retro Paradise Palette , but I thought I would get more use out of this one at the moment.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is quite simple with a clear/black outlined plastic rectangular shape. The fronting is transparent so that you can see the eyeshadows from the outside of the palette. It has a clip closing, which you push apart to reveal the inside. The square eyeshadow pans are spread out across a black base and the shade names are printed in grey font under each pan. THE EYESHADOWS & FORMULA You get eighteen 0.94g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Metallic (ME), Glitter (G), Satin (S) and Shimmer
