CERTIFEYE The Eternity Palette

I have seen palettes by Certifeye on BeautyBay.com before and always thought that they looked beautiful, but I haven’t really heard anything about them from beauty influencers so I was sceptical about purchasing one. I decided to purchase the one I knew I would get the most use out of and it is exactly the colour story that attracts me to palettes.

The packaging is quite simple. It is made out of white cardboard and it has a rectangular shape. The design is quite plain, it just says “Do good and good will come to you” across it in a berry brush script font. It has a magnetic closing that you just lift up to reveal the square eyeshadow pans. The pans are arranged in three rows of six and each shade has its name printed underneath it. You can purchase this palette for £30.00 from Certifeye.co.uk and BeautyBay.com.

You get eighteen 1.4g eyeshadows in Matte (M) and Shimmer (S) finishes.

The eyeshadows should be soft and smooth, which will make them super blendable. The eyeshadows should also be very pigmented. This palette is vegan and cruelty free.

I was surprised by the quality of this palette. The shades are ultra-pigmented and are soft and smooth in texture and to apply. The mattes are super easy to blend and the shimmers are pretty. There wasn’t any noticeable fallout, but of course there was kick back in the pans (mostly from the mattes). I still recommend eye primer and glitter glue and shimmer/metallic shades are always best applied wet, with your finger or a stiff flat synthetic brush. The wear time of the mattes is great, but the shimmer shades do fade a little over time. The red shade Lovebug does look more pink when it is blended out, which is a little disappointing but a lot of red shades do tend to be pink based. The red shade Fancy looks the same as it does in the pan when blended out. I have no problems with the mattes but I wish there were a couple more shimmer shades and I wish they were more rich and metallic. Overall I am impressed with this palette, but the shimmers are a little lack lustre in my opinion. I have a couple more Certifeye palettes to test, so I will see if the shimmer formula is any different in those palettes. If you are mostly into matte shades, they do offer a couple of matte only palettes. I think they just need to up their shimmer game as that is my favourite formula (metallic to be more specific).

O.P.I Breakfast at Tiffany's Mini Mani Month Set

I heard that O.P.I would be releasing a Breakfast at Tiffany’s Collection and I was really interesting in trying some shades, so when I was browsing the O.P.I website and came across this set, I snapped it up straight away! The packaging is like a white and lilac fashion book and it has a beauty advent calendar vibe. It is a sort of alternative to a beauty calendar. There are five rows with five shades covering two sides of the book. You can open the windows that cover the shades, but it will reveal all five shades, which is why it doesn’t quite pass as a calendar. Plus, you can’t actually take the bottles out like you would a beauty/chocolate calendar. You have to open the sides of the book and pull out the five separate plastic trays which hold the bottles. There seems to be a lot of wasted packaging this way. You get twenty-five 3.75ml bottles of Nail Lacquer and the set contains new shades from the Breakfast at Tiffany’s Collection, and some old favourites already pa...

GUCCI Mini Perfume Gift Set

Today I am going to review a perfume gift set that I bought from Boots.com during their Boxing Day sales 2014. It is the GUCCI Miniatures Gift Set and it was exclusively sold in Boots stores and on Boots.com. I love the concept of mini perfume sets and it’s a shame that not more brands do them! You get to sample more scents from brands, and if there is a certain perfume you are interested in, you would be able to sample it before potentially wasting your money buying a full size bottle of a scent you might not like. In this particular set you get five (5ml) mini fragrances to sample and I actually already bought a full size of the Guilty scent, but waited until I got this set to test it! A big gamble I know, but it did pay off this time! Here are the five miniature bottles of scents included:- FLORA BY GUCCI The bottle is so cute and with a little ribbon bow too. The notes contained in this little bottle are; citrus, peony, mandarin, osmanthus, rose, sandalwood, patchouli and ...
