Blogmas #4 | Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Eyeshadow

I have been meaning to review this product for ages, but I couldn’t decide if I wanted to get more shades to review. I was very interested in trying these because I wanted to get a gold base for Half Baked eyeshadow by Urban Decay and from then I have purchased two more and have a few more in mind for future purchases.
I have three shades, 05 - Eternal Gold (45 - Bold Gold), which is a glittery, shimmery medium toned dark gold with a metallic finish, 65 - Pink Gold (55 - Inked In Pink), which is a frosty mauve pink with a metallic finish and 35 - On and On Bronze (25 - Bad To The Bronze), which is a warmed up bronze brown with a metallic finish. I really want Barely Beige and Barely Branded, but sadly they are not available in the UK!
The packaging is a round clear glass pot with a black plastic lid. You have to twist the lid to get it off and it is mean’t to be air tight. The formulas vary because some of the shades have glitter in them, but they are quite creamy but not too creamy that it is going to smear. You get 4g of product in each glass pot.

This product is supposed to provide your eye look with colour that pops and the colour is meant to be super saturated because of the pigment technology. The product is meant to glide onto your eye lids smoothly, last up to twenty-four hours and be fade proof.

This is a must have product! The packaging is lovely and slightly resembles the MAC Paint Pots. The pigmentation is brilliant and each shade just pops! The texture is soft and creamy, which enables it to glide onto your lids. You can use a flat eyeshadow brush to apply it, but I prefer using my finger for a more saturated looking finish. The colour does fade slightly as it wears, but it isn’t majorly noticeable. It does not last twenty-four hours at all. It lasts around six and if you set it with a powder eyeshadow, it will last a lot longer.

Overall it does fail with the twenty-four hour wear claim, but it is still an amazing product. It is also a hell of a lot cheaper than the Benefit and MAC ones, which I love too!

BY BEAUTY BAY New Romantic Palette

I first saw the tease post of this palette on Beauty Bay’s Instagram page on 29 th January and it was a black and white photo, so you couldn’t see the colour story but some of the shades names were a little bit of a giveaway to some possible shades (Raspberry, Flamingo and Khaki etc). On the 31 st January, they posted another tease photo of the shade Queen and this really when the colour story was confirmed. The full reveal post was on 1 st February, the same day as the palette launched. I bought it on launch day; I half expected it to already be sold out, but luckily for me it wasn’t. The formula of the eyeshadows looked like in the NikkieTutorials Palette, which I hoped the shimmers would be as they are stunning. Beauty Bay also had two other palettes that are the same sort of concept; Sunset Horizons and Book of Magic (discontinued). I decided not to purchase these two as I wasn’t completely sold on the colour stories for the usage I would personally get out of them, but they did...

Oden's Eye Solmåne Eyeshadow Palette

I first heard of this indie brand through watching Angelika Oles’ beauty channel on YouTube. Oden’s Eye is a Swedish indie brand and they make Norse mythology themed products. This is one of two eyeshadow palettes I decided to purchase; I also picked up the two matching highlighter palettes.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is small and rectangular in shape. It is made out of cardboard and it has a sort of textured covering (like on pogs). The design and imagery is so unique to the brand. Solmåne means the sun and moon in Swedish. Sol represents the Sun Goddess and Måne represents the Moon God. Both Gods are represented on the packaging. There is a colour split of warm and cool toned shades (lavender, pink, orange & yellow) along with moon, star and Norse symbols. The wheel around the Gods is metallic gold, so it really reflects the light when you move the palette around. The eyeshadow shade names are printed on the back of the palette. The palette has a magnetic closing/opening, ...
