Blogmas #12 | Becca's Babble's #2: Christmas Traditions

Source: blog.interflora.co.uk
I am going to share with you how my family prepare and celebrate Christmas.

BEFORE CHRISTMAS
Before, we obviously make sure that all our Christmas shopping has been done and presents have been sent to family members we don’t see at Christmas. Twelve to fourteen days before Christmas, we put up our tree and other decorations and send out Christmas cards. On Christmas Eve we make sure the house is clean and tidy and my parents make sure we have everything we need, such as, food/snacks and drinks. And my Dad prepares all of the vegetables. We then go to bed whenever we want and try to sleep!

CHRISTMAS DAY
On Christmas morning we usually wake up early (not on purpose, lack of sleep) and then make a hot drink. The four of us then go upstairs to our living room and open presents. My Sister and I usually eat chocolate for breakfast and we all have a glass of bucks fizz. My parents then start cooking Christmas dinner. My Nanna and Pops come around mid-morning to afternoon with more presents and to open their presents from us. We usually sit down to our turkey and vegetable dinner between three and four o’ clock. We then have desert and after we watch the television. When my grandparents have gone home, we all get ready for bed and sit and watch the Christmas specials of TV shows we watch. We then go to bed whenever we want.

AFTER CHRISTMAS
The day after Christmas on the 26th is called Boxing Day in the UK and this is when the Christmas sales start. We get up a little earlier, so we can get ready and go sale shopping. Then in the mid-afternoon we go around to my grandparents’ house and have a buffet. We then watch some more TV and sometimes fall asleep. Later on in the evening we go home and get ready for bed and watch more TV.

My family traditions do slightly come across as being boring, but we like to spend it together and relax before going back to work!

What are your Christmas traditions?

Oden's Eye Solmåne Eyeshadow Palette

I first heard of this indie brand through watching Angelika Oles’ beauty channel on YouTube. Oden’s Eye is a Swedish indie brand and they make Norse mythology themed products. This is one of two eyeshadow palettes I decided to purchase; I also picked up the two matching highlighter palettes.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is small and rectangular in shape. It is made out of cardboard and it has a sort of textured covering (like on pogs). The design and imagery is so unique to the brand. Solmåne means the sun and moon in Swedish. Sol represents the Sun Goddess and Måne represents the Moon God. Both Gods are represented on the packaging. There is a colour split of warm and cool toned shades (lavender, pink, orange & yellow) along with moon, star and Norse symbols. The wheel around the Gods is metallic gold, so it really reflects the light when you move the palette around. The eyeshadow shade names are printed on the back of the palette. The palette has a magnetic closing/opening, ...

Empties #10 - August & September 2013

I have combined two month’s worth of empties again. At the end of August my box wasn’t that full, so I decided to carry on collecting and hope I use up more stuff. The majority of stuff I used up was necessities as usual, but there are some extra bits too. Here is what I managed to use up within two months:- Morrisons So Clear Dual Action Moisturiser | 100ml I have used another tube of this and have already re-purchased it. It works really well and doubles as a hand cream and most importantly, it is very inexpensive. Price - £1.49 Listerine Total Care Mouthwash in Clean Mint (Purple) | 500ml This is my favourite mouthwash and I have already re-purchased it. Although I get it for around £2.99, I still wish it was cheaper. Price - £4.60 Right Guard Women Total Defence 5 48H Invisible Power Anti-Perspirant Deodorant | 150ml + 250ml I have used more of these as usual and I still haven’t found anything that is better. I have however found a cheaper place to buy it f...

Review: Travalo Classic

I was sorting through some old pictures in my blog folder on my computer and I came across some Travalo pictures I took, and remembered I was mean’t to do a post about it. So better late than never, I am going to share with you how to use it and what I think. About the Travalo The Travalo is a small and handy perfume atomiser that allows you to decant a small amount of your favourite perfume into the tube and carry it with you, so you don’t have to carry around the bottle. It is made of strong, light aluminium and is 80mm in size and holds 4ml of liquid, which is approximately fifty sprays. It is also a “perfectly” rounded shape, which means there are no corners, so you don’t have to worry about it ripping your handbag, purse and pockets or scratching any furniture and surfaces. How to Use It If you want to decant some perfume to put in the Travalo you need to: 1. Take the spray cap off the perfume bottle 2. Get your Travalo and hold it upright over the spray s...
