Blogmas #7 | Benefit Ultra Plush Lipgloss in Dandelion

I got this lipgloss in the Benefit Luv It Up! Gift Set and it is sample sized. It is the first lip product I have tried from Benefit and I am not actually keen on lipgloss in the first place.
I have the sample size so the packaging is the same as the full sized ones, just smaller. It is a pink plastic squeeze tube with the Dandelion graphic and typography on the front. It has a silver cap and when you twist it off, it reveals a slanted applicator with a small hole to allow the gloss to dispense when squeezed. Because the applicator is slightly slanted, it should make it easier to apply. The formula looks quite thick when first dispensed, but when it has been blended it looks very thin and feels smooth. It also has a slight floral scent. You get 6.5ml in the sample size, but full size is 15ml. Dandelion is a soft pearly pink shade and it is inspired by Dandelion the boxed powder (blush).
This product is mean’t to glide onto your lips really smooth and feel silky and luxurious. And the soft-squeeze tubes should enable easier and more even application.

It is not a bad lipgloss! The shade is really nice and natural and the formula is silky smooth and glossy. It glides onto your lips really well and it makes them feel luxurious. It is also very easy to dispense and the slanted applicator does allow for a more even application. It is not sticky at all and it can last up to two hours on your lips without refreshments. The only thing that I’m not keen on is the lack of pigmentation, but the blush version is a light shade anyway and a couple of the other shades I’ve seen (Coralista) look amazing when swatched. If I got a brighter colour, the pigmentation would have been more.

Overall it is a great lipgloss and more like the type of lipgloss that would interest me. I am still not convinced over liquid lipgloss, but this is a step in the right direction. I would not purchase it myself because I don’t think I would get much use out of it. But now I have it, I am likely to use it a bit because it is great.

Empties #10 - August & September 2013

I have combined two month’s worth of empties again. At the end of August my box wasn’t that full, so I decided to carry on collecting and hope I use up more stuff. The majority of stuff I used up was necessities as usual, but there are some extra bits too. Here is what I managed to use up within two months:- Morrisons So Clear Dual Action Moisturiser | 100ml I have used another tube of this and have already re-purchased it. It works really well and doubles as a hand cream and most importantly, it is very inexpensive. Price - £1.49 Listerine Total Care Mouthwash in Clean Mint (Purple) | 500ml This is my favourite mouthwash and I have already re-purchased it. Although I get it for around £2.99, I still wish it was cheaper. Price - £4.60 Right Guard Women Total Defence 5 48H Invisible Power Anti-Perspirant Deodorant | 150ml + 250ml I have used more of these as usual and I still haven’t found anything that is better. I have however found a cheaper place to buy it f...

Oden's Eye Solmåne Eyeshadow Palette

I first heard of this indie brand through watching Angelika Oles’ beauty channel on YouTube. Oden’s Eye is a Swedish indie brand and they make Norse mythology themed products. This is one of two eyeshadow palettes I decided to purchase; I also picked up the two matching highlighter palettes.   THE PACKAGING The packaging is small and rectangular in shape. It is made out of cardboard and it has a sort of textured covering (like on pogs). The design and imagery is so unique to the brand. Solmåne means the sun and moon in Swedish. Sol represents the Sun Goddess and Måne represents the Moon God. Both Gods are represented on the packaging. There is a colour split of warm and cool toned shades (lavender, pink, orange & yellow) along with moon, star and Norse symbols. The wheel around the Gods is metallic gold, so it really reflects the light when you move the palette around. The eyeshadow shade names are printed on the back of the palette. The palette has a magnetic closing/opening, ...

Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Palette

I first saw a preview of this palette in early August on the Trendmood Instagram page. I just knew I had to have it. I also own and love the Gingerbread Spice and Gingerbread Extra Spicy Palettes by Too Faced. These are the only types of holiday palettes that actually interest me from Too Faced. All of their other holiday palettes tend to be gimmicky (but pretty looking) and not good quality. THE PACKAGING The packaging is a rounded rectangular shaped tin in a beautiful pumpkin orange colour. The design on the front kind of looks like spread on a cracker. The name of the palette is printed in two different raised fonts. It has a magnetic closing, which you lift up to reveal the inside of the palette. The little rectangular eyeshadow pans are arranged across a metallic gold base, with the shade names printed in a small black font above each pan. There is also a mirror on the underside of the lid of the palette. THE EYESHADOWS & FORMULA You get eighteen 0.70g eyeshadows in Matte (M),...
